their faces are too stylized for me. imagine how good it would look if it was more realistic, and they used that new skin tech.
I think they look realistic enough, I don't need them to go crazy and make it completely lifelike.

This. The DOA5/X3 artstyle works great in terms of faces because it's just the right amount of realistic.
Would get pretty bad if they went down the uncanny valley road.

Correct, but I'm sure they will release other versions of the game, DOAX3 Ultimate or something, which will have more characters.
I think I'm officially throwing the towel in on this franchise. Well DOA in general, I haven't been happy with the changes made since 5 came out and it's slowly regressed into a pandering wank fest , putting Marie Rose and Honoka into a DOAX game just because gross Japanese fans want them is pretty much the final nail in the coffin.
15 years ago I'd be crying foul at a censored eastern game not making it out in the west but now , if this is who they want to make money ? I'd rather they censor it to the point of not even releasing it here. That was apparently the plan anyway but bleagh, VR support and ogling an 8 year old in a bikini just sounds appallingly disgusting.

Marie Rose and Honoka are popular amongst western DOA fans as well.
You want them to remove popular characters because they make you upset?
If you don't like them you don't have to use them or "ogle" them.
Also I'm a little confused at your complaints. You could ogle characters who were actually 16 years old in DOAX2 almost 10 years ago. I don't really understand what you mean about this being a pandering franchise now.

Myself, I couldn't care less about doax since it's a shitty game with shitty gameplay, but I do care about the fighting franchise, and any success with this game will eventually pay off in doa6. So I hope lots of people buy tons of dlc for this.

Whilst I agree that his post was pretty silly (complaints of pandering... in DOAX?)... can we stop trying to use the completely fictional ages these characters are assigned as some sort of "gotcha"? I've been seeing DOA fans (most notably ShinMaruku) doing this since forever, and it's just kinda stupid tbh. They can claim Marie Rose is 43, and say Christie is 12, and it would be completely pointless to use these values in an argument, because their designs say infinitely more than their fictional age ever will.
What point are you trying to make other than you don't like the character? Because if so, you've made that point ad nauseam in multiple threads. The person mentioned not just Marie Rose but Honoka as well, which is why I responded the way I did. I don't understand why Honoka would be an issue and evidence of pandering to 'gross Japanese fans' when there were high school girls in previous games.
My point is exactly as stated in the post. Saying "this character is canonically this age" is worthless. If I'm making this point repeatedly in multiple threads, then it's quite likely a result of the point I just replied to being made ad nauseam in multiple threads. Someone posts that they think Marie Rose looks real young (because she does) and that they don't think she belongs in a game based around dressing the girls up in shoelaces and snapping pictures of them in provocative poses, and then they get a response along the lines of "motherfucker Ayane was FOURTEEN in Ninja Gaiden!" like that's supposed to carry some weight.
Like I said, I think his post as a whole is pretty silly. But the use of fictional ages to argue the point is sillier still.

Wait a goddamn minute! No Lei Fang or Tina in this game? Really? Two of the most iconic original DoA fighters with a perfect attendance are getting shafted because Tecmo cannot bother to make more than 9 girls? And Honoka and MR were chosen with the most votes but no Lei Fang/Tina? Preposterous!!!

Well, I'd assume her design (which as has been pointed out numerous time here, is basically Marie Rose + boobs). I would think it's safe to say that the ages the characters were assigned wasn't his issue, as it would automatically include numerous other characters (without even having to reach back in past entries).

I can understand Honoka because of her boobs, but Marie Rose surprises me with all the fan support she got!!!
As many have pointed out, the only difference between the two is the bust size and the hair color.
