According to data collected by Nielsen who surveyed over 4,800 gamers between August 24 and September 9 with ages ranging from 7 to 54, 98% of them chose Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 as the most anticipated multiplatform game for this holiday season. The title was followed by Fallout 4 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Both of them stand at 95%.

As for exclusives, Halo 5: Guardians blew away the charts with 100% of gamers stating that it was their most anticipated exclusive. Exclusives like Yoshi's Wooly World came in at 91% and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection came in at 79%.

Activision’s shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III tops this year’s multi-platform list, with a ranking of 98%, adding to the publisher’s popular Call of Duty series. Bethesda’s Fallout 4, the long-awaited follow-up in its hit post-apocalyptic RPG franchise, and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, this year’s offering from Ubisoft’s stalwart action/adventure series, both come in close behind at 95%. All seven of the multi-platform titles that gamers covet most (noted in the chart above) are being released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Electronic Arts (EA Games) gave its racing series Need for Speed (92%) an 8th Gen tune-up to hit the streets again this year, and the publisher is set to capitalize on the buzz around “Star Wars: Episode VII” with the release of Star Wars: Battlefront (88%) to the new platforms in mid-November. Square Enix expands the recently rebooted “Tomb Raider” franchise this holiday season with Rise of the Tomb Raider (80%), which adventure-seeking gamers are eager to get their hands on. And fans of the music/rhythm genre are hoping to get the band back together with Rock Band 4 (76%) by Harmonix after a five-year hiatus.

As for platform exclusives, the feather in Microsoft’s cap this holiday is Halo 5: Guardians (100%) for Xbox One, the latest release in the publisher’s immensely popular sci-fi shooter series. On PC, Blizzard brings gamers and eSports fanatics another entry in its “StarCraft” real-time strategy series with StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void (91%), while Ubisoft offers up the next iteration in its famed city-building franchise Anno 2205 (75%). Sony will release Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (79%) to PS4, providing fans of the action franchise the chance to play all three titles in the series remastered for 8th Gen, while PlayStation Vita gamers are anxious for Corpse Party: Blood Drive (76%), a survival-adventure game from Xseed, and Code: Realize – Guardian of Rebirth (71%), an adventure-visual novel from Aksys.

Though Nintendo may be short on multi-platform titles this holiday, it has a surplus of high-profile exclusives, with a total of seven highly anticipated games on Wii U or 3DS due out in the coming months. U.S. gamers are keen to jump into Yoshi’s Woolly World (91%) on Wii U after the publisher released the title in the U.K. earlier this year, and the combination of Animal Crossing and Amiibo is generating a great deal of excitement among many Wii U gamers for Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival (84%). Nintendo’s console will also see exclusive releases of Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (80%) and a relatively rare M-rated exclusive with the new action title Devil’s Third (76%). Gamers on the 3DS are looking forward to The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (86%) and Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (77%), new titles that build on two of Nintendo’s biggest franchises. The 3DS will also welcome a third-party exclusive that gamers are enthusiastic for; fighting game Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (88%) from Bandai Namco.

How in the world is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection an exclusive? They are ports of 3 games from the PS3...

Everything can be an exclusive if you spin it enough

I would agree with that. Halo 5 for certain. COD has some competition, however it's still a huge game and looks to be back on form after the two previous mediocre titles.

I'm yet to speak to an Xbox One owner who isn't highly anticipating Halo 5.

The beta, the early TV ads, HtT, more TV ads, slowly releasing more info about the content on a weekly basis.

343i have played a blinder here and this is the most hyped I've been for a Halo game since 3 and I was MEGA hyped for that game!

19 days to go!

Is 'The Nathan Drake Collectiin' coming out on any other systems? In 1080p 60fps? On one Blu Ray? Completely remastered?

SKU manipulation!

Always interesting to see the mainstream difference to gaf and other enthusiasts.
Really felt to me that Halo had little hype frankly, relatively speaking.

I'm shocked at AC being so high and Battlefront being so low.

I particularly like that one Xbox One exclusive - Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. It's the exclusive 900p version, you see.

They mean the collection is exclusive to PS4.

The video game industry has PR'd and spun the true meaning of exclusive out of recognition anyway I guess.

Expected for Halo and CoD but surprised Uncharted has 79% - seems surprisingly high for remaster but maybe I'm missing something

Seriously nothing can take COD's crown every year. It'll easily still be the best selling game going into early 2016.

Hmm I guess you can't play UC collection anywhere else but a Playstation system?

*facepalm*

I'm not a big Halo fan, but I always enjoyed the single player campaigns (oddly I like above all else Reach and ODST), they are silly fun.

I'm considering buying an XBONE but I'm having issues justifying the purchase (to myself) since there are so few interesting exclusives to me :/

You don't realize the effect COD has on people until your Xbox friends say they're only interested in Black Ops 3 this year, and your Playstation friends say the same thing. I've had a few tell me "I don't care about Halo/Uncharted". COD is a monster.

Halo 5 is easily the biggest console exclusive of the holiday, possibly of the year. It's going to do huge numbers in North America.

Why exactly does vita have a section, yet all the other exclusives PS4 has such as Disgaea and Dragon Quest are not on the list? Surely if Vita is there, something must be up

Yeah, it's scary. Basically all the people I know own a console just for COD, they buy a game a year: COD, and that's it.

The numbers are relative to other games on the platform. It just means that Disgaea and DQH have lower awareness levels to the games listed and they didn't think they were worth mentioning.

The 76% for Corpse Party and 79% for Uncharted are not comparable in absolute terms

This holiday is looking like shit for all platforms....

Gotta be one of the worst fall lineups in the last 10 years.

Rock Band 4 is looking like a bomba.
I'm a little worried about it, but it traditionally has legs and is a game frequently purchased at physical stores. The starting prices are also pretty crappy. It's almost as though they threw them up with the expectation that a 25-40% sale will look impressive but really be what the original price was.

Actually, I think it speaks well for it considering the company it has above it. They're all multi-multi million sellers (well maybe not NFS). The survey only published games that ranked above 70%.
Titles shown are those being released between Oct. 1, 2015 – Dec. 31, 2015 that have a Game Rank™ of 70% or higher.

See above, though your optimism about Disgaea is quite adorable.

Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Because it's also on Xbox 360.

Oh I didn't know it was on 360. Surprising o_o

I agree it's poor, worst in 10 years is hyperbole though, even last year was worse than this. This has been a fantastic year overall and Q1 2016 looks great but this fall, for me personally, has nothing outside of Fallout 4.

More accurate thread title: Among Xbox One owners in the U.S. Halo 5 is the most anticipated exclusive game this holiday

A 100% anticipation level is incredible.

My, how the times have changed when a Tomb Raider game is more anticipated than Rock Band.

Has there been any notable advertising for Rock Band and Guitar Hero?

I see.Thanks for the clarification...

Man...i feel like my tastes don't line up with the mainstream at all.

I'm looking forward to Uncharted Collection, CODBO3, and Fallout 4 just like everyone else..but i'm also looking at Disgea, Tales and Dragon Quest...6 games for the holiday season plus my backlog is a pretty decent holiday if i do say so

i don't know anyone who is excited for Assasin's Creed or Need for Speed(especially with that always online nonsense)

I'm only buying Japanese games this holiday. Disgaea, DQH, Zestiria, Blood Drive, Xonic, Cold Steel.

Embrace (and support) the niche!

Really? smh

You're kidding right?

This is better than just last year alone.
I'm not kidding. Battlefront is the only game from the op I'll be buying and I can't think of anything else releasing outside of those.

Maybe my taste is just drifting further away from this AAA shit. Maybe I'll pick up that PG Transformers game this year after all.

Surprised no Just Cause 3 on the multi plat games list, though maybe too late to count for a holiday season?

I'll be getting Uncharted collection, Transformers and Fallout 4 this fall (along with already having Destiny TTK). Just cause 3 and Xenoblade in December.

Xbox is Halo, Halo is Xbox. Why would you buy this console this generation if you didn't want Halo you know? The game is going to do gangbusters this holiday with a ridiculous attach rate I think. I know some die hard fans who swore off Halo, even after last year's MCC release are planning to take a day or two off to play Halo 5 at launch.

I have an xbox one. I bought it for killer instinct. I am not buying Halo 5 this fall.

Absolutely not, last year had very very few exclusives.

This year there are actual exclusives, a lot of them, people just don't count them because they're from Japan.

I don't think Nielsen is trying to be deliberately misleading when it comes to Just Cause 3, so I assume they mean any game between Oct 1 and Dec 31 was eligible and Just Cause 3 just didn't manage to hit a 70%.

Shit, yeah i forgot about Trails of Cold Steel too >< I gotta get that and get into Trails as well. Although Falcom saying they want to 'eventually' put that duo on PS4 eventually has me iffy on whether or not i should wait.

But i wont cause i want to support the very prospect

Actually fair enough - opinions and all.

But IMO, this is better than last year.
