So wait, everyone around the galaxy was celebrating at the end of ROTJ with the second Death Star being obliterated with Vader and the Emperor, and like what, 30 years later the whole galaxy just... forgets?

Uuuuhhhh...

I think that was referring to the Jedi vs. Sith/Dark Side. How many people in the entire galaxy knew Luke was a Jedi or that Palpatine and Vader were Sith? Not many, I'd wager. If people forgot after 20 years about the Jedi and Sith. Surely after 50 years after the fall of the Republic even less would know/care.

Motherfuckers thought John Williams lost it?

Ha.

Hahah

HAHAHAHA

The King has returned

I seriously doubt Williams wrote the trailer music. It's his themes but the use of percussion here is more like Zimmer and his group than Williams.

Black Jedi? some racist fuck gonna out himself tonight and get fired tomorrow

That was already well under way it seems

Well, a similar amount of time went between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with the force being considered little more than a hokey religion by many. Who knows what the late Empire and First Order propaganda machines have been churning out concerning the events of the original trilogy.

Fantastic trailer. John Williams truly is a God.

One quote that always really touched me was said by George Lucas in that Empire of Dreams documentary about the making of Star Wars. Towards the end of a really stressful and frustrating production in which George poured his heart and soul, when he was really afraid that the film would be a complete disaster, John Williams' score was the late touch that really made it all come together for him and he recalled that "Listening to John's score for the first time was one of the greatest thrills of my life."

I mean shit can you imagine being in the room when they first laid those tracks down? George probably cried like a little girl. That score is just iconic and will forever hit the right spot.

Either Luke is barely in the film at all or they're doing a shockingly good job of keeping him under wraps (minus that one leaked pic).

Or heck, maybe a bit of both.

We forgot the Jedi in 20 years, it's star wars man.

Plus LIS, Finn was just a random grunt and Rey lives on a backwater shithole, it's not surprising that they would only hear legends about it.

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Whoooaaaaaaaa they forgot about JEDI?! WHAAAAT come on thirty years??!

Nobody ever saw the Luke vs Vader fights and pretty much all of Jabba's guys died and weren't trustworthy anyway. Those biker scouts in the woods are history, too.

Crazy how I went from burnt out on anything Star Wars in the last few years(as a practically life-long Star Wars fan) to a 180 turn-around based on these trailers.

J.J. has me sold. Completely sold.

A year ago, I wasn't even sure I was going to watch the new films.

I almost teared up. Just the thought that finally, after 30+ years, there might be a new Star Wars movie that makes me feel the way the originals do.

Seeing actual emotion from the characters... it's just so good.
