Switch Back 9

a lot of my threads involve me fucking up somehow. Perhaps I'm a moron?
Oh man this hurts.

What a bummer. Now I have to go back to the stupid Leafs.

:'(

Revere was clutch as fuck though.

Jays actually have a better 2nd baseman but he was injured. Devon Travis.

Our bullpen was missing Cecil.

They have Devon Travis.

Looking forward to Travis' return, as well as Cecil's.

However, they need more Cecil-caliber lefties in the pen, because simply getting to Osuna late in the game is a nerve wracking experience.

How the fuck do you not at least do a safety squeeze there with Pompey on 3rd with 0 outs?

Yea, I was surprised Ben kept swinging instead of laying down a bunt.

Looking forward to the Mets. Two great teams going at it.

Sadly Donaldson wasn't the same the last six weeks of the season. Once pitchers figured out he would swing at almose any garbage on the first pitch, his numbers plummeted.

Joey Bautista is the true MVP of the team.

It took pitchers until the last 6 weeks of the season to figure that out? Donaldson was amazing and every player goes through a slump.

Donaldson was crushing everything to start the second half while Trout was slumping. It happens.

Cecil, Sanchez and Osuna together did a great job of shortening the game for the Jays. They do need another quality lefty though. Mark Lowe and Hendriks will be fine in situations as well.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
One or both of Osuna or Sanchez will be a starter next year. The Jays need to beef up their bullpen for sure.

uMy mom lives across the country and she's my main texting buddy during Jays and Leafs games. Always watches, chillin with her bottle of wine.

My dad...not so much.
Battery on my Mom's tablet died during the rain delay so the chatting ended. Felt less confident when that happened :/

I agree, for post season anyway. Bautista showed up, but Donaldson kind of faded away.
He was incredible during regular season though.

He is an amazing player who understands how to work a count. Donaldson's obsession with swinging at the first pitch kept him in a hole that hurt the team in the playoffs.

Donaldson reminds me of Bautista when the league figured him out at first. He even emulates the swing. I hope he works with Bautista in the off season on that batter's eye.

Which is admittedly confusing because he was pretty patient at the plate during the regular season.

Dude kept swinging away carelessly this whole series, like the world was about to end or something.

Maybe Bautista can give him a few pointers in the off-season about staying chill in the batters' box.

When Brett was checking his pulse.. I was legit doing the same in that 9th. It actually worried me how fast my HR was and had to do some deep breathing. Damn sports.

Agreed. Price seems to have the foritude of Glass Joe from Punch Out. Let the Dodgers or Yankees over pay for his soft ass. :(

Trading for Price was instrumental for the Jays to get into the playoffs because it gave the rest of the players confidence and motivation. Now that the team has had a taste of the playoffs they shouldn't need Price anymore. Use that 30M for Estrada and two good relievers. Open up the wallet for Greinke.

it hurt more than i thought it would

And yet I am happier to be experiencing this than another off season with no Jays at all. This was fun. I got to go to an ALCS game.

I am upset but this team didn't choke out. They fought till the very end and gave us some good memories.

Come on, Mets. You're our only hope. Can't stand the Royals and their antics.

What antics? They aren't the 2008-2010 Rays that had Longoria and BJ Upton being basically the biggest assholes in the entire planet, or the Cardinals with their moronic "Cardinal ways" or whatever the fuck they call the fugly mix of playing it the right way and sleeping while driving, they're not the Yankees, well, thank God I don't think the world could stand two Yankees without collapsing on its own.

They're not even sabermetrics by all accounts (no matter what anyone can say now), we used to get shit from Dave Cameron all the time at fangraphs about how he was smarter than Dayton Moore. Guess what Cameron, you fucking ain't.

the Mets and Cubs sure did need that "playoff experience" to advance as far as they did. Maybe Toronto should use the money they'd spend on Price and sign a guy with "grit" and "intangibles" instead.

I got over it in a few minutes, the team did well to get this far.

Unless something catastrophic happens next year, then they should be even better.

I'd like to see what this crew can accomplish in an entire season if they continue to play like they did post-trade deadline.

It's hard not to feel good for David Glass. That guy wasn't able to show his face in KC for so long, but now he's got back-to-back pennants and the city just did a complete 180 with him.

Agreed. We got two great wins at Skydome (as it will always be to me) :)

Yeah, that's a good way of looking at it. Won't be forgetting that Bautista bat flip anytime soon that's for sure.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
KC GAF checking in. This whole damn city is one giant party right now. Fireworks going off everywhere, Facebook blowing up, and every single bar is at capacity.

If they want to overspend, too bad Tristan Thompson already signed that deal, I heard he's a real glue guy.

This makes me happy that the Jays didn't get eliminated at home lol

That would have been way too devastating for the City.

good game congrats to Kansas city and the fans. Hopefully KC mayor gets something better than maple syrup

Bautista a boss as always

Trading away Grinke feels like it was just yesterday. People were so pissed about that. Now look at what has come of the guys we got for him:

The 2014 ALCS MVP Lorenzo Cain
The 2015 ALCS MVP Alcides Escobar
