Game of the generation. Can't fucking wait for this. I'd probably go burgle shinobis house if i only knew where he lived.

Well, there's no level cap whatsoever so assuming you can grind XP some way, you should be able to get every single perk.

Very much doubt it, there'll be a soft cap in terms of level at some point so while technically feasible, getting those several hundred levels to get all 10's and full perks most likely won't be realistic.

I just cancelled my PS4 preorder. Even though it would cost me ~$42.

I just think that if Bethesda do fuck up the graphics with this game, mods will fix it. So I will buy on PC later.

Yep. If you have a capable PC you'd be silly to buy this on any other platform considering the modding side of things.

That said, I wont be buying this until some point next year when there will be a solid amount of good mods for the game. Then I can tailor it to my liking.

The shooting does look a lot better compared to fallout 3, so I am happy! The graphics look pretty meh, but it is hard to fully judge that from such a low quality video.

Animation looks so much better than the silly ballet dancing in Witcher 3.

If anyone wants a good laugh, they should read all the previous posts of this guy. It's pretty decent trolling. Even thought he does goes a bit too far in a couple of posts, trolling needs to be done with restraint, that is a point he can still improve upon.

Yup it's fallout lol. It looks much more fluid than fallout 3 was. I got to see video 3 before it was taken down, and it looks fun >.<

As long as performance is good and no game breaking bugs I'll be all over this.

I'm sure there's a repeatable glitch somewhere to get infinite EXP or something but yeah, if you're playing "legit", it's most likely impossible

Different strokes for different folks, the core gameplay, world building and lore is so good that mainstream is willing to let things slide.

FO4 is going to sell gangbusters, win awards and I can't wait for the salt that will rain from the skies, even more than waiting for the game itself.

Well I too love the lore and all the options the player is given in a Fallout game, but -no offense here- I believe that the kind of stance you (and a lot of other people) have on the issues at hand (bugs/gfx/animation/performance) is why Bethesda is not doing much to improve the situation.

There has to be a fine line. Gfx are not the most important aspect of a game, but they sure aint an irrelevant aspect as well, or else we'd all be playing Pong now.

You expect big players like Bethesda to push the boundaries in every direction. Not being critical of the technical aspects of their games is kinda absurd imho and completely unfair to small time developers who do their outmost to deliver a polished experience.

You're right but it was still quite entertaining. A solid effort.

I would expect Bethesda to make the soft cap more lax with DLC patches anyway so people can keep on leveling (Skyrim did something similar, after all) - it wouldn't be much fun to go through new content if you already had a perfect demigod killing machine.

One thing I did notice that could be a huge problem for people like me who want to play 3rd person, is that when the camera collides with something it zooms in to the characters head instead of over the shoulder, blocking the view of the crosshair.

Fucking Reddit.

Some asshole just potentially ruined the story for me. I'd like to assume they were joking around but it sounds plausible enough to be real. Great.

I am avoiding a pre-order. I want to know for sure it's not buggy, Bethesda has passed off some brutal game issues as fine in the past and I won't touch it until it's gotten the proper support or proves to be problem free.

Graphics I can deal, but bad performance or bugs on a big budget AAA game are really starting to grate on me, I am so sick of having to wait months for things to work as advertised.

It looks fun so I am really hoping it's a solid release with no issues.

its pretty much exactly like mass effect. If you like that, you'll like this, whatever issues you have with that one you're gonna have with this one.

me personally? i hate it. I hate bioware's dialogue system and I'm really disappointed they adopted their shitty system.

I'm a bit confused, because I assumed that they'd follow Bioware's lead where one of your dialogue options leads into lots of sub-questions/conversations (and the other three options might be pacifist/sarcastic/angry, and they'll advance the quest/plot), but now there's been conflicting reports that it may not be the case? All the options seem to advance the quest?

On a high end PC when compared to console footage? I would hope so.

Any game could have done "better" with their graphics. It's a design decision. I personally think Fallout 4 is a better looking world than The Witcher 3.

wow. opinion and all that but wow

The insane hours I put into FO3 and FO: NV tell me, despite the glitches and graphics, I am going to enjoy the hell out of this game. Day 1.

This is the correct way to play games. With people's complaints, it seems like nobody played any games from any console gen prior to this one. Fallout 3/NV looked like shit and ran terribly on my PS3 and I loved them both to death, pouring hundreds of hours into each.

No game is perfect. Enjoy it for what it is, or avoid it. You not giving your money to a developer will mean more to them than pages of hyperbolic rhetoric.

Back on topic, the videos in the OT make non-VATS combat seem like a viable option now. Can't wait for the 10th!

My gf knows I won't be engaging in any conversations with her unless I get button prompts.

Well I do agree with people that it doesn't look that good. But it won't stop me from playing this for 200+ hours.

Awesome, I didn't know Dick Tracy was in this!

Luck perks are pretty cool, yeah

I might actually go for 10 LUCK

Has one of the better capstone perks, for sure. PER, END, INT and AGI ones in particular are rubbish (maybe CHA too, depending on how those three domination perks work).

Edit: You can view all the perks here now: http://orcz.com/Fallout_4:_Perk_Chart

Ranks are also being updated - they're doing it by hand so it'll just take a while before it's complete.

It's not a nice thing to say, but this game needs to fall flat on its ass so Bethesda will get the kick in the ass it needs to update its engine.

Sprawling Open world or not, they could have shaved some polys from far off objects or somesuch to throw some at the main characters, of whom you'll be starting at A LOT. That floaty- walking thing should not exist in a game in 2015.

Will still play the shit outtive it

He's speaking in relative terms. Witcher 3 was heavily criticised for its technical performance despite being one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

Yet Betheada's "hilarious" bugs and glitches get a free pass most of the time.
Beth games do indeed get more leniency due to interactivity and personalization. We understand that shit is hard to implement.

If only Witcher 3 lets me put a bucket on Yennefer's head and replace her lilac gooseberries with random weed :D

Enough. The hate for this game is strong. I can't stand some gaffers posts anymore. I don't understand how you find funny to be so negative about anything!

And don't say it's a discussion about a game, because 50% of what i see is people shitting for nothing.

And no, Fallout New Vegas is not so much better than Fallout 3. They're both awesome games, just enjoy them.

Translation: ''Muh interactivity''

Why is it so fucking important to you to put a bloody bucket on Yennefer?

Chili Con Carnage!
I can't wait for more Fallout but I am a bit disappointed by these videos, too much stuff that I thought they'd improve on just looks exactly the same (mechanically, don't really care about the graphics too much).

Seems like a properly invested build of better criticals+ninja is going to be even more absurd than it was in the previous games because ninja gives skyrim like sneak attack bonuses. Not many enemies in the game that don't die to 25x melee damage.

For ranged, 3.5 for Ninja, 2.5 for better criticals, 2x for rifleman or similar perk, 17.5x damage for the investment of 25 perk points at around lvl 40, not very much in the scheme of things.

Even early on, if you invest all your points right from the start into this approach, at lvl 1 you can have 1.5*2.5*1.2=4.5x damage with a lvl 1 hunting rifle, for the investment of 18 skill points out of what was it, 27 or 28.

S - 4
P - 2
E - 4
C - 2
I - 3 (gives you access to gun nut, strap on dem silencers boys)
A - 7
L - 6

There's a starting spread to play around with. Probably could use a few more ranks to lubricate the build with points in say sneak for example, but is basically ready to fry some critters big time. By lvl 10 you'll get a lot more to play around with.

You could also skip better criticals and delay it to conserve the 7 or so points in luck and only lose 50% extra damage before lvl 15, cut luck to 3 for example, dump some points into sneak and an extra point of perception for awareness, and take the better criticals skill later. Also a bit more int because fast experience sounds pretty neato.

Also, Orcz.com seem to have allegedly better details of the rank of each perk, dunno if they're genuine but based off those it's pretty easy to plan your build.

Graphics have never been Bethesda's strong suit so no one should be too surprised. As long as the world building, exploration and gameplay hold up it should be as fun as ever. That power armor+chain gun vid was enough to convince me that this won't disappoint. I will definitely be putting 100+ hours into this game before Thanksgiving hits.

I just don't get people who are trying to force others into beliving that "it looks fkin amazing!".

When was the last time you played any video game? 2005? Then yeah, it looks bananas, but there are multiple games last couple of years which are looking SO MUCH BETTER.

Gameplay aside - this game won't look good, period.

Still looks terrible but the gameplay looked quite fast paced. My concern will be more if the quests hold up than the visuals.

Saying I don't think this game looks bad doesn't equal that you should like it. Also the same thing can be said about multiple post in this thread towards people who thought it looked fine.

No shit! Can you tell us something we didn't already know? Bethesda isn't really known for putting out games with amazing graphics. It's more about the gameplay. I didn't expect to be blown away visually cause to me that's not what the game is about. It looks a lot better than FO3/NV and that's good enough for me. Yeah, I'd love Bethesda made it look better but it's not a huge deal.

People who are complaining about the graphics are just shitting on the game. This was never gonna be a great looking game.

It looks like a Bethesda game. Passable, not great, but passable. I'll probably still enjoy it mainly for the gameplay.

Not a fan of stuff like the conversations being dumbed down so they could go Mass Effect there though.
