Can't wait to play this!

There is more to gaming than graphics. I'm in it for story and immersion. I've been gaming since the 80's and not once have I cared about 60 fps / 1080p or any of that shit

No shit! Can you tell us something we didn't already know? Bethesda isn't really known for putting out games with amazing graphics. It's more about the gameplay. I didn't expect to be blown away visually cause to me that's not what the game is about. It looks a lot better than FO3/NV and that's good enough for me. Yeah, I'd love Bethesda made it look better but it's not a huge deal.

People who are complaining about the graphics are just shitting on the game. This was never gonna be a great looking game.

And people like you -no offense i am not sarcastic here- are perhaps the reason why Bethesda is doing nothing to improve the situation. The irony is that Bethesda is a major developer, certainly not constrained in terms of funds and talent, so its kinda unacceptable that they make a game that looks completely last gen and includes hideous, almost 15 years ago robotic animation. They have even used rehashed Fallout 3 voice over for some enemies...

With that kind of prestige and budget its really a disservice towards fans to do such a sloppy job...

And another thing. Its not like me -or most people- ask Bethesda to create a phenomenally great looking game as you say in your last sentence. We merely ask for a good enough looking game. And imho, if you guys want this product to become better in the future, you should be asking the same and voice criticism over the technical aspect of Fallout 4.

Just my 2 cents.

Despite the game not looking graphically amazing it still looks fun as hell.

I find the fallout games very addictive and will spend a ridiculous amount of hours playing and I can't wait to get stuck in.

Just asking, but, if anyone wanted to see particular videos from the PS4 version of the game, what do you want to see? What does everyone want to see the most? Just general gameplay or anything in particular...

A conversation with branching dialogue please.

The game looks so awful and the animations are so bad that i think it would be an insult to compare it against others like the witcher 3.

Dat dog...

After looking at that perk chart, I am probably going with this build:

Start (Goal)
S-2 (3)
P-8 (8)
E-2 (5)
C-3 (3)
I-6 (8)
A-4 (7)
L-3 (6)

Must have perks at start will be hacking, locksmith, sniper, rifle man, crafting weapons perks, lone wanderer, bloody mess and sneak.

Curious about other levels on locksmith. I mean it's lockpick advanced at lvl 1 already. What can lvl 2-4 be?

I am surprised by these replies about how bad it looks. Did you see it during E3?wasnt any different then graphically and I sure didn't think it looked extremely bad. Good enough really. So I don't know why people are now going all... "Holy shit this looks bad."

Usually I always go with a high Charisma character but for obvious reasons I won't this time around.

This is what I'll go with:

S 4
P 4
E 1
C 3
I 6
A 7
L 3

I'm sure they saw it at E3. I'm sure some even mentioned what they thought of the graphics. And I'm sure they got a response akin to "Well, the game isn't out yet".

Pretty bummed about the new dialogue system. The amount of dialogue options and how they were presented was one of the things I really loved about the previous games. I'm very disappointed that they've moved away from that style.

Still, the main reason I love these games is the exploration, and I've seen no reason to expect disappointment there.

Looks really rough indoors, still has that same "bethesda" lighting when you're inside, really flat and nothing seems to have correct shadows or AO.

Which is odd, cause one of the shots Shinobi posted was inside the vault and that looked rather good. Not all that flat.

When a game is shown at E3 and releasing the same year I never expect any big graphical improvements anymore.

We're already back to the " Bethesda doesn't make pretty games, what do you expect?" line already eh?

Hey, if you're a gamer and you like the graphics fine, but please, no more of this when someone says the the graphics look a little rough, they do. Usual Bethesda or not, it's a valid critique. We ought to use that line for Ubisoft from now on, because they're just as consistent graphically from game to game lol (and in not implying Bethesda lied about graphics at any time either).

The ps360 comments are out there too, gonna get this thread locked as well.

Fallout 4's PBR implementation looks lazy as fuck. Almost like they switched midway and simply slapped on the old textures and called it a day. Not seeing any good use of reflection roughness either, everything seems fairly uniform and 'cgi'.

Of course, it might be intended for the art style they chose.

Graphics look fine, I didn't expect it to be super pretty.
The mouth/lip sync urks me though..

edit: Even if there is a slight sound delay in the videos-that upper lip movement is so uncanny

People saying Bethesda games aren't capable of great graphics..Skyrim looked (still looks) freakin amazing.
One thing that I think Bethesda does really well is create a sense of scale in their worlds. Skyrim did it particularly well, and I think that can make it feel like it's graphically better than the sum of its parts.

Interesting bit of news that I don't know if it's already been posted.

The EULA on steam lists that all mods must be released for free. Thanks to Pat from SBFP on twitter.

Jesus, all those re-used copy paste indoor assets from Fallout 3/NV. The same metal boxes, the same terminals, the same med-kits, the same tables. Engine also has the same jank/judder going on while moving. Will need PC mods to fix it.

I think the theory that this was meant to be a last gen release is spot on!

This is actually pretty sad... cant believe they have the nerve to release it like this, when we are talking about one of the most profitable developers in the industry...

People need to voice their criticism on this, so that Fallout 5 can be a better, more polished experience. There is no excuse for such sloppiness.

Lack of shadows in a lot of areas look really weird but I guess they disabled some shadows in the console version for whatever reason

The character animations look... Really bad. I swear some of them are directly from FO3/NV. I don't think higher graphic settings are going to fix that in the PC version

The art is actually really good, it's weird no one is really talking about that. I think the concept art and the actual visual style a pretty well realized. As for the graphics, it looks good to me in spots, looks a little rough in others, but I feel that has been most of my experiences with Bethesda games, just give me that damn world building.
