360 had custom gamerpics? I knew about paid gamerpics, but custom?

If you had a camera there was some hack/homebrew kinda stuff you can do. I used to just take a picture of something on the computer like close up but later found a hack you could just take any picture online or whatever and save it as a gamerpic that shit goes hard.

Got random achievements for H5. Based on the list online I'd say I missed 3/5 I earned. Thankfully I don't care much, but it's certainly an issue that needs resolving.

Did you check on your Xbox? When the Live service is limited I often get achievements listed as "Done. Unlocking..." or something like that. And when the service is back up they'll eventually unlock.

Speaking of gamerpics, I really wish they would force or just automatically update the picture of anyone who goes from 360 to X1. I hate seeing those tiny pictures on X1 players. It's not like it changes anything viewed on a 360.

Is there a bug that if you're offline you can't sign in to any profiles to play games on your account? I press sign in on the dashboard, it goes "Hi (my name)" but still says I'm not signed in to my profile

And I have set my xbox to go offline

Make sure you report it through the dashboard app, they specifically asked for people still having that issue to push that info.

Anyone with the issue that the actual status from a person isnt updating very fast? Sometimes the friendlist says that person x plays y, but at the same time in my party, this person plays z.

Status Updates are very slow still.


And yeah the recent updates broke the high bitrate x264 codec. Cant watch movies with 720p resolution or beyond.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I have two external hard drives and when I go into my storage management, it tells me that all of my games are installed on both of my hard drives.

I have checked and I haven't got all selected I can choose external one and it shows every single game and I choose external two and the same.

They are only installed on one drive though so it is reporting it incorrectly, but like I say, anyone else seen this on their system?

Yup..seems like it takes 2 minutes or so for live TV to "settle in" and get the A/V synced. The picture still looks like shit.

Did you try hard resetting? I've had some issues with image stuttering while watching live TV, but a hard reset always fixes it.

I assumed a hard reboot happened when it installed the update.
Guess not because after doing one myself it seems like the issue went away!

Yeah, their excuse is that "not enough people were using it anyway". It sucks.

I have found the culprit, it's the edge browser, it's repeatable for me.

If I start the edge browser then play a game or do something like watch a movie, I will get the black screen issue, if I go back to the dash and physically exit edge by selecting exit in the context menu, the problem goes away immediately.

The only thing I can think of is that there is something running in the background while edge is minimised that's causing it to skip.

I have a video, it doesn't show the black screen though, it shows up as a skip, watch the timer in the top right jump a second at about 33 seconds.

They removed all gesture support (or rather, didn't reimplement it in NXE, then nobody really complained).

Wow, its actually watchable now! For me it wasn't watchable on the old dash either, the stutter was doing my head in, but so far, 30 mins in iv only seen it once (when I first plugged my virgin box in)

Don't be ridiculous, the mere fact that kinect has been standard for the first year means there are millions of devices out there, even if not all of them are in use.
Kinect users may not be the majority any more, but it doesn't mean they have to be ignored. I could accept the features stagnating because it's not high on their list of priorities, but regressing should not be accepted (no more than when Sony removed features from the PS3 at the time).
As soon as the new dashboard is officially released, I'll be voicing my wish of getting gesture commands back on uservoice (all such queries are currently removed from that site since the NXOE is still in beta). Hopefully there will be enough contributions to be heard.

I never used the gestures though. I use the voice commands all the time.

Well as I said I accepted the idea of "you'll have to wait longer for new kinect games and features because that's not our priority". But removing features is not the same thing as not adding new ones. There's still hope that gestures will be added back, but some of their latest decisions are irreversible already, like removing the IR leds from the controllers.
