The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible [PS4]

Any Xbox One impressions as of yet?

I played it. It's stable most of the time. I notice some minor drops here and there but nothing major. I think the game looks really really good most of the times. Especially the dynamic weather effects are breathtaking. Only interiors and some NPCs look mediocre and the draw distance isn't so hot.

It just seems strange. Watched almost all of that 2 hour PS4 video posted yesterday. Everything seemed fine...

Not saying I'm shocked or surprised, or I don't believe everyone else saying it can run badly.. just seems strange I hardly noticed anything in the video the other day. Maybe it's mostly a problem with volumetric lighting? The couple of vids posted had quite a bit of it

Regardless this is inexcusable... I mean not once did the whole 'oh the games ran like shit on ps3 so I shouldn't get my hopes up for PS4' cross my mind. Different consoles, different times. Companies learn from mistakes (sometimes) With a console as powerful as the PS4 and how average this game looks in general, it's not really a stretch to expect a solid 30 at all. What a joke. To think I was ready to plop down nearly $90(cad) for this.

Both versions most likely suffer performance issues in certain areas.

Well, the reviews are out in about 15 hours according to Opencritic. I'd advise everyone to wait until then unless you don't believe in the value of money. In which case, give me money.

Here's an hour of HD gameplay footage from the PS4 version...not linking this in case Bethesda ninjas are watching. Quote to reveal.

Looks solid to me.

edit: not seeing any hitching like the OPs vids so far.

Wondering if it is saving and loading and an upgraded hard drive speed helps things. Either that or issues could be remidied with a database rebuild.

Hopefully the guy I sold my PipBoy edition too doesn't get cold feet.

i don't know, the beta with 7 million people ran fine on all platforms.
I'm leaning towards the launch running at least decently.
A solid beta didn't stop Battlefield 4 from being a disaster.

Battlefront beta had 9.5 million players.

Damn too late the Bethesda ninjas were watching!

Is 30 seconds load times considered bad for this game? I might be wrong, but I believe there are other open-world games this gen with longer load times, so I think people would accept this.

If someone's buying an overpriced plastic thing to put on their arm, I doubt they're bothered by the meta.

as they shouldn't be really unless the game is universally panned. This whole obsession with meta and review scores is getting kinda crazy.

Bethesda sucks and people still buy their games, news at eleven....too bad they had to buy the fallout IP.....heck even mikami couldnt make a decent game with them....

People that says tomorrow is going to be "awesome" with all the reviews and the possible clusterfuck it will mean... you have to remember Skyrim. With all the problems it could be argued it had (and even more on console, I played on pc), it has an average 94 Metacritic rating. 94.

Love this.

OMG
I actually seen all this on the last week on gaf written by some members.

The witcher 3 had 5 seconds of loading on fast travels, 10-15 seconds when you load the game and nothing else, at least on PC.
I really hope the witcher 3 counts at least on this particular matter. Or it doesnt becuase its not the smae type of open world game? With some gaf responses lats week I sinceresly dont know anymore.

I think it's bad if you have to load a lot when entering / exiting buildings.

* wait 30 seconds *
Oh crap I forgot that thing inside
* wait 30 seconds *
Now let's get back out
* wait 30 seconds *

Yeah, this game is going to review well.
I doubt the review thread will be that bad.

This made me smile. It shouldn't but it did.

Look it's Bethesda game it will be a hot mess. Then they will release a sequel and fund Obsidian to do it and all will be well.

New Vegas was more broken than FO3 at launch. I love them both and beat them both before any patches, but man, that one was a mess.

As long as they don't fuck up Doom Bethesda are still my heroes. Having said that, this Fallout 4 stuff is inexcusable.

I hoped that Kevin Van Ord would review it for Gamespot and then I learned he left back in July :( One of the few reviewers I trust.

Is Daniel Bloodworth reviewing it for Gametrailers?

And it turned out to be a turd of a game regardless of technical issues.

And millions of people bought it and are lining up now to get the next game of the same developer.

Obviously a lot of people agree then that the game is good.
