It is (at least that's what The Drop on the PSBlog said). Just wait for the PS Store update for the cross-buy to kick in if it hasn't already.

It's been $8 on the Wii VC for years but this version is in HD and adds some visual options, along with cross buy, so it's a fair price, I think.
The only problem is that Super Star Wars isn't a particularly great game. I'm still going to check this out though.

Didn't make it to show off the Mode 7 running on PS4. I did much better on my first runthrough, thanks to getting a seeker missile upgrade while killing respawning wamprats.

I'm interested to see if they actually ported it and fixed the slowdown more than anything else. It runs terribly on SNES.
Ugh, yep. I remember some of the hints in the Vader issue of Nintendo Power, but honestly I know SROTJ a lot better.
Overall this does look better than the superb 480p release on Virtual Console. All three games in the trilogy look super sharp on the Wii U, but instasave for trickier parts and crossbuy make this one worth it. I'm also very much voting with my wallet in hopes that other notable Star Wars games get rereleased. It's too bad NoA isn't allowed to have an Adam Boyes that can facilitate stuff like the unreleased Rogue Leaders going to Wii U.
And while I did die in that video, I'm pretty sure the difficulty is nerfed on easy mode. I won't truly know until I get to Mos Eisley...

Played Super Star Wars on Vita and it runs great. Graphics and sizing options available. Leaderboard support inside of the game with SNES fonts is impressive. Still couldn't get pass the first boss on "easy".
I don't think I'd ever be that nice of a parent >_> ... Chip's Challenge would be my idea of hell for a 7 year old.
Is there a save state feature or any cross-save between PSV and PS4?

No cross save. There is save anywhere, which I believe the original did not have, but only one slot. You need to go into a game to use the load.

The original Snes game didn't even have passwords! If you wanted to clear the game you had to finish it in one sitting. Thankfully Empire and Jedi fixed that and gave you a password system...

codes are about $30 on ebay for all 4 games, i give it a month before its about $20 or so, then i will buy , never played the games growing up but i had the game gear return of the jedi one

I haven't played it since back in the day, but my recollection is that it was stupid hard too.
But the graphics and sounds were pretty great.

Mapping the SNES cheats to Playstation buttons doesn't work in this port. Besides, X starts the game, not options. Game looks amazing otherwise.

Honestly, I would pay way more than $10 for some SNES games.
But this one is $8 on the VC. So the two extra dollars to cover the fact that it's an enhanced port with leaderboards and trophies is fine with me.

I got it for PS4. I use to rent these games a lot ages ago. The respawn enemies are still there. You can sit there if you're good enough and refill your health from hearts that drop from all the enemies.
You can change the screen ratio, save your game, change the button formats, and so forth. I would have liked the entire run of these games, but you get what you get.
$9.99 seems a bit much considering you can buy some PS1 and PS2 classics that are longer games, but they might have had to charge that much to get this game.

Maybe 1.5 to 2+ hours. You might have to save often or try it again and again. I died quite a bit years ago. It all depends on how good you are at this game. You might even do it in less.

Remember, it goes Blaster → Flame → Homing → Ion → Plasma. It's purple on the cover, so they're using Plasma, or at least Ion, since it's a solid beam.
Also I saved the game on PS4, then started a new game on Vita. I paused, hit Load Game, and it loaded my PS4 save!
