Ouch and I thought Fallout 4 could be bad.
Can someone explain the use of "Marmite" in this article? Was it a typo, or this some UK expression I've never heard?
How do you fast travel, I can't figure that out.
Means some people will love it and some will hate it.
Seriously a bummer this another console blunder. Like I thought these new consoles were gonna fix this.

That's actually not too bad considering size of world but obviously could be betterA bit LTTP lol but here it is (PS4, patched):
Initial loading and logging in: ~2:10 minutes.
First death (just crashing a plane) loading: 46 seconds.
Second death loading after making some chaos: 35 seconds.
Third death loading after making even bigger chaos: 26 seconds.
Fast traveling to a close location loading: 31 seconds.
Fast traveling to a far location: 46 seconds.
Whatever this guy ran into, I couldn't replicate it.
I love that the author's misspelling of... something resulted in a capitalised marmite. Vegemite is better, though.

Its the worst running game on ps4 so far for sure imo. Its a technical mess.
I've been watching this PS4 stream, and I've yet to see such a terrible framerate (though of course he's not necessarily doing what you've been doing). His load times after death seem to be about 10 seconds, and when he went into the map it's not giving him connection issues. I wonder what the difference is?I doubt my hdd is dying, and the game is fully installed. I bet that when Ill play offline without being connected to the internet with my ps4 the load times will still be bad.
Batman AK is a shining example of how to do loadtimes, they considered everything for that game.

That's not a long loading time or a brutal one. That is the single worst loading time I have ever heard of in a game. Holy fuck how can a death load be so catastrophically long?
That is exactly what I was going to say. Wasn't that a selling point for Cerny during the Playstation Announcement? One of the reasons they went with GDDR5
There other article concerns me as well.
Maybe this is a game that I should get on PC, but I heard this game has multiplayer and my friends are all on PS4... =/
Just Cause 3 Load Times and Frame Rate on PS4 Are Bloody Awful

It doesn't have multiplayer so you're good to go PC, hopefully the JC2 multiplayer mod gets remade for JC3.
Must have spent an hour or so watching people play this on Live From PlayStation and I'm not seeing any of the mentioned performance issues or excessive loading times anywhere close to what these people got. Obviously, I didn't see them start the game up and that's probably going to be the worst bit and when they died the first time it was well below a minute and after that it seemed pretty steady to me.
There was a German bloke who was intentionally blowing himself up and it looked like great fun!
Not in any way suggesting that they did;t get really bad loading times but I'm yet to see anything that concerned me at all.
Not sure where this idea that it's a technical mess on consoles but it looked bloody gorgeous to me. I used to be impressed by map sizes but now the amount of "stuff" in the game as you play it. Was impressed with the PC gameplay that had previously been shown and I'm more than happy with what I saw of the PS4 version, I'm sure there will be things missing that you get if you're running it on a really good PC but I'm pleasantly how much they've managed to get out of the console version.
There are some console videos on YouTube now and I'd recommend that people who were worried about getting the Xbox or PS4 version watch some of those as I feel they represent the game that I've seen far better than some of the really negative comments.
EDIT:
I've no idea which iteration of the game the streams were using, I'm assuming the launch patch is already out now though.
Not sure I can handle this much loading so soon after beating Fallout 4.
yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that it doesn't stutter at times. The framerate turns bad when you start blowing up a lot of stuff in the ps4 version.. for me at least
Or fast travel. Does not dying fix the online connectivity and framerate/stuttering as well?Quick tip, DONT DIE. Problem solved?
NXGamer did a video on the XBONE version - he says he gets really long (up to 15 minutes!) loading times if you play for a long time, seems to be a memory leak, with day 1 patch.
Yikes.

Like Fallout 4, the game drops to 0fps on Xbox One? :/

It looked like it for one segment. I thought the video stopped on youtube, but I could see the blue line changing.

This is interesting as I've played for about 2 to 3 hours per session and never had 15 minute loads. Def odd.
I think that was a crash.

What about the day1 3GB patch? Surely it'll improve things.
Pretty sure the patch will fix this
