Steam Helpdesk Site: Lots of upcoming games maybe leak, slowly getting confirmed

Well, time to throw my PS4 and Vita out the window.

In all seriousness, this bothers me for some reason. And I dont even care about PC gaming. Just seems fucked up. Weird. Oh well.

Nah I feel the same way. I think it's ingrained from arguing with PCMR idiots (who are probably in ecstasy right now).

Good on y'all for getting to play some great games but I'd be lying if I said my stomach wasn't in knots.

You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Stomach turning in knots. How is it possible to care that much, about a game coming to another platform.

I aint gonna defend them but tell me, you'll buy a nintendo system if you could play their exclusives games on pc ? ( zelda, mario, metroid , etc )

just Yes/No

The answer you get the most from Console only Players on "why dont you play on PC" is, that they dont want to sit on a Desktop. So the answer to your question is: Someone who likes to play on the TV and doesnt trust/know/whatever Big picture Mode will always game on console.

This is legitimately pathetic. Take a deep breath. It's just video games.

List warz is super cereal business though

No, but I'm not going to insult others who would get the chance to play more games if their games went multiplatform

Amazing doublethink at play here to bemoan "PCMR idiots" while feeling physically sick that more people get to play a videogame at no consequence to yourself.

I think there's an important distinction that people need to understand here.

This stuff is not "fake". This is 100% in the Steam database. No if or but there.

However, the fact that a game shows up in the SteamDB does not automatically means that it will actually get released.

Now devs don't create subs for games in the db just for fun but a lot of things can happen during development that will result in the game not coming out.

People need to stop saying that it's fake... It's not fake.

Nonetheless, I would like an explanation for that Project M sub.

Those Nintendo games do come to PC when emulators exist.

Enjoy what you can. Bonus points that the PC preserves almost every platform.

Weren't Halo entries found in one of those steam databases ?

I can't be sure it means anything

Welcome to 15 pages ago. The Halo games were the outliers, all the other games leaked during that batch released eventually. We're talking about a 80%-90% release ratio here.

Half-Life 3? Really?

Could very easily be a pseudonym for something else for the sake of exactly such a situation as we are in now. I wouldn't put a large amount of weight to it. Having said that, HL3 is almost certainly in development and probably has been for many years, probably going around in circles.

Yes, one of the few titles that were never released from the last leak.

Microsoft obviously started working on them, but shifted strategy at one point. They do that frequently, which is why everyone gets nervous when they start locking games behind DRM again.

MUnited83

For you.
Nonetheless, I would like an explanation for that Project M sub.

I think that one is easy. The Project M guys want to make a smash-like game of their own. This might be the codename for it. Hell, maybe they even want to keep the name Project M regardless and that's why they've taken down the site and the mod, because they want to rebrand Project M as their own game.

This is my theory anyways.

Wow, Twinkle Star Sprites, Caladrius Blaze and Raiden Legacy are in there too. This has been THE year for shmups!

Where is Radiant Silvergun though...

And Raiden Fighters Jet... And every 360 STG.

Dangan Ronpa? t5435h34jk5h34jk5h34jk5h34... Power overload. I cannot process this anymore.

This has been one hell of a sunday so far!

Guys, don't be salty. Be excited, that your favorite developers and publisher get to release their games to a new, big userbase to make money. Which leads to sequels and new IP's.

It's a fucking Win/Win-Situation.

Lol. Well damn. Being an owner of a gaming PC I guess I'm part of the problem. I'll have to remember in future not to by any console games on PC at risk of harming fellow GAF members.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
That's most assuredly not actually Half-Life 3. The L4D3 subs didn't leak and it's not-so-secretly Valve's next game, plus the app was uploaded far too recently for a Steamworks game that's been in on-and-off development since at least 2006.

And he uses the term "Developer Comp". One of the Half-Life 3 packages is called "Half Life 3 Developer Comp". There's also no hyphen in the name. 99% sure it's the same guy just fucking around.

This doesn't mean anything. Developer comp is incredibly common across the database.

Not to say it's the real Half Life 3, but just that linking that to it being the same person doesn't make any sense.

Exactly, the more people get to play the games, the better.

Ah, didn't know that sorry. Still, find it very unlikely that they'd just forget to put a hyphen in the name when every other Half-Life package has a hyphen.

No Goblin Game 2 might be 100ft Robot Golf that was just announced for PSVR at PSX.

Jamestown+

Plus couple things we knew about like Project Ukulele and ABZU show up there as well.

There's also something called 'luminous untitled app' that was added 3 months ago, in case someone wants to put on their speculation hat about that name. :p

I mean, I get it. It makes you wonder if you should have even bought a console if every single console game is going to come to PC now.

But its the older stuff, though. If you bought it when it was originally on console, you'd have played a lot of these games 6-12 months before PC-only gamers did, and you probably got a physical copy to boot.

I mean, I have a gaming PC too, and buy lots of games for it (despite my game collection being 90% PlayStation) but that's not gonna stop me from buying something like Zero Escape 3 on launch even if I know that it'll probably get a PC port later down the line

Meanwhile, PC-only gamers get to play the same great game I played, albeit a bit later.

And the publisher/developer get paid a second time, giving them the money to make a theoretical Zero Escape 4.

Everybody fucking wins.

So it's a big problem that the game's coming on a different platform which instantly makes your stomach turn upside-down.

Fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, when an app is uploaded to Steam, the backend automatically generates three subs:

- [appname] for the store and retail keys
- [appname] for Beta Testing, which has a release state override for early access, and
- [appname] Developer Comp, which is essentially the same as above

If Journey and Everybody is Gone to the Rapture turn out to be true, I can see Bloodborne ending up on Steam as part of the deal with From, it would be a million seller.

Actually the one I was referring to was 92 games of which 63 have released over a year later. That's about 70% (which I updated my oust to reflect). Previous leaks have included 100s of titles. It should never been seen as incontrovertible evidence of a title coming to steam.

When even the people data mining the info are telling you to take it with copious grains of salt then you should probably listen.

Why are you so defensive about this? lol

A great number of these games make total sense on PC. Spike already said that they wanted to begin developing for Steam, so Danganronpa is probably true. Square is porting everything to PC, so FFX/X-2 should be true too. A lot of the others too.

Between this leak and PSX last night, PC is getting a lot of unintentional and exciting announcements.

I'm really hoping that they finally do a PC port of Rez. PS4/PS VR version is great news, but it's a real shame that the game never made it to PC yet.

Stumpokapow

listen to the mad man
everybody's gone to the rapture: could pre-date sony stepping in to help with the game?

journey: could be another game with journey in the title (there are already two on steam: journey to the moon / journey to the center of the earth)

dreams: could easily be another past or future game with dreams in the title

Provided this is all true, I see no reason to throw away my Vita. It's still my current favorite portable system, with my 3ds XL gathering dust till SMT4 Final comes out. I've played so much Spelunky on the can it's mind boggling.
