No one said that.
I'm just wondering what Square's thinking will be with it. I can't imagine them doing everything on PS4 first or going PS4, everything else, PS4, everything else, PS4, everything else.

I thought it's similar to what Verendus implied as well. This is how I read it, but I'm worried we're wrong.

I agree. Just need some microtransactions and DLC to go along with that 4x20 tag and we will have a full game on our hands.
Before you guys go crazy, it's so they can release parts of it quicker.
So I'm guessing no world map, each episode will be a bunch of set pieces and corridors.
I guess that explains how they plan to cover the whole story. They'll use episode breaks to cut out parts of the world that would be too large and too time consuming/expensive to create.

After seeing how detailed everything was, this doesn't surprise me at all. Did people really expect a complete recreation of FF7 in its entirity with that fidelity? The number of man hours required for that many assets would be astronomical.
People will be angry about this but my suggestion to those people is just to wait for the entire season to be released.

Could FFVII REMAKE be part of a big project as opposed to a remake of a single game? Think Crisis Core, Dirge, Advent Children etc... Maybe they just mean that FFVII will be one game. There will be more spinoffs and whatnot that tell other parts of the overall story that will come out as well. Maybe I'm just being too hopeful.
no where, ign just assumed episodic
Square can't handle FF7's girth, gotta take it in episode by episodeOr, you know, they could just develop and release a game in a timely fashion but why hold them to pesky standards?

Come on
There isn't a single person in the world who looked at that trailer and said "oh, I wish this was made in episodic format". Seriously, Square.
Final episode will be PS5 launch title!
Recreating the feeling of separate discs for the new generation.
....so, anyone willing to wait for the inevitable "complete" edition?
