Let the GAF meltdown commence. Figured it was going to be quite expensive based on Palmer's tweets.
Exactly. I don't know why anyone is surprised by this.

Too much for me considering I'd also have to upgrade my PC.
Not surprised by the price, though. It's that early adopter price tag. They're not going for total world domination this year.
anyone else having a hard time getting their card to process?
You guys insane? Vive is coming with two controllers and two lighthouse units. It's going to cost at least the same or more. With a price like that, VR is not going to take off....
Here's hoping Vive and PS VR are not going to be so expensive
Buyers remorse kicking in pretty hard, huh.
Well, I'm getting tired of the errors to get my order through. It's like a higher power is trying to stop me from buying this for a big reason.
He's insisting that it's a grand. Is the 781 including shipping taxes and all that?
Either way, don't really care too much. It's way way way too expensive for me atm.
Wow, I guess I was way too optimistic with my guess earlier this morning. As someone with no current interest in VR, this seems way to steep to me to be a breakout hit.
The ball is now in Sony and HTC/Valve's court. I now expect PSVR to be significantly less (~$400), and I wouldn't be surprised if the Rift comes in cheaper as well.
Preorder numbers and initial sales will be very interesting to watch.
Ugh, there's nothing I fucking hate more than when I miss out on the first round of something because of website errors.
Maybe enough people will cancel their preorders to move me up.
Just got one for £529.. ouch. But a good ouch.
Vive doesn't have Facebook behind it, and it has more complex tech, no? By all means, it should cost more. I expect PSVR to be cheaper, but because its tech will probably be the least advanced.
nah, you can build an mATX. not bulky at all.
I'm calling $400 for PSVR. The only question is do they charge for all the peripherals needed for it.
Our boy Colin Moriarty is guessing the price for PlayStation VR will be $300. I hope he's right.
lol no that's never happening$400 PSVR (headset only)
$600 OR
$800 Vive
My guess
$600 + 20% VAT != 700.Because of that 20% VAT.
Are you kidding? Vive's tech is probably going to cost more than the Rift, even without the tie-ins. Expect $800-900.
PSVR requires an EXTERNAL processing box and methinks that will not be cheap either. It'll probably be in the $500-600 range too unless Sony decides to subsidize the hardware - why bother with that in the first year or so though?
My DK2 cost significantly less. I'm surprised because I thought even that was expensive.
Only £400 not bad, though I need a new GPU as well.
Looking forward to seeing the PSVR price further crush the delusions of people who thought VR would be a mass-market success anytime soon.
it'll be niche even at "only" $300
Well, people must be buying it as the ship date is now April from March.
