Yes, this month Star Wars Battlefront sold 1.04 million units on Xbox One, and 800K units on PlayStation 4 (excluding bundles).

HOLY FUCK.

Star Wars Battlefront = 2.58 million

PS4 + XB1 withouth bundle = 1.84 million.

This mean the Battlefront bundle almost 740,000... Crazy.

Phenomenal CoD numbers for a series once believed to be in "decline."

MGSV numbers are disappointing but understandable given how disappointing MGSV was as a whole. Konami has done an excellent job screwing up a formerly hugely successful IP.

A game can sell a lot, and still be in decline compared to its predecessors.

lol, you expected this game to sell less then bayonetta 2? even though its a jrpg, its a huge open world game with aesthetics should appeal way more to nintendo fans then bayonetta 2.
well, as much as bayonetta, or a little more

but I'm glad it sold more, it should give Nintendo more courage in making the new one

So the numbers basically mean Fallout 4 is a bomb. Because we know based on several threads and hundreds of posts that Battlefront is a bomb and the numbers are similar.

They should go back to the Elder Scrolls, it's way better anyway.

witcher 3 sales are very disappointing, considering the game never got bundled.

Witcher 3 numbers are good if not great and show the IP growing .
You are looking at a series that started on PC .
Then get a late port to only one system last gen and has a on going story .
Plus this not counting DD and the game was on sale a while back.

The only thing disappointing on that list is MGSV. How did the other batman games sell?

mgs is selling slightly better then witcher 3 if you count the timeframe, and witcher 3 probably has a way bigger budget. i think batman is selling better, especially with out bundles being included.

There is no way witcher 3 had a bigger budget than mgs.
You forget where witcher 3 was made.

Batman should be selling better. It is a bigger franchise. If one includes PC numbers Witcher is doing much better than MGSV. IIRC, MGSV had a higher budget.

You can't compare Dev costs of Poland vs Japan. Witcher 3 would be much cheaper.

a google search shows a 81 million budget for witcher 3 vs 80 million for mgsv. i just feel witcher 3 should be doing better cause it's been on the market like 4 months longer, and came out when no real competition at the time, plus its a amazing game.

even though poland is much cheaper labor cost, it still cost 81 million, just goes to show how much work the put in the game, cause to me witcher 3 looks like it has a much higher budget, but because it's poland, they were very close.

The 80 million number you seeing for MGS was before the game was even out without marketing .
The Witcher 3 number includes everything .

EDIT i should note that i don't think MGS5 had that much marketing but still lol .

mgs is selling slightly better then witcher 3 if you count the timeframe,

You compare holidays months for Metal Gear and summer months for The Witcher.

Talking about first NPD, The Witcher 3 sold ~700,000 in 2 weeks, Metal Gear sold < 800,000 in 5 weeks...

They are about the same. Not only, The Witcher is probabily bigger.

Well.... :p

Just kidding

Titanfall 2 should be pretty big, especially with it now being multiplat

Titan fall 2, Destiny 2, Battlefield 5, Cod IW.

2016/2017 will be insane for next gen twins.

I expect sales to explode this 2 next year's.

wow.. didn't expect it at all.. I mean, it's good, no?
didn't expect more than 50k honestly

It did pretty well, yeah. I think a lot of people pegged it at < 150k with 200k being the upper limit. I know some were speculating it would only hit 100k on its debut month. All in all, it's a good number.

I guess we have come full circle with Witcher 3. Before launch you would have been labeled crazy if you had said it will sell 1.35 million in just retail on consoles in US during 2015. Now those sales are for some somehow disappointing because they are only little bit higher than sales for MGSV that is sequel to highly popular and proven ip.

I predicted < 250,000 retail + digital.

With >200,000 at retail alone, i guess i was spot on. ;)

i always thought it would sell amazing well, if digital can add another 250k in npd, then yea, i would be happier with the sales. ww its doing amazing though.

Considering how big the Witcher is on the overwhelmingly digital platform that is PC it is no doubt much higher than 250k digital sales. It sure to absolutely dwarf the digital split for MGSV.

So let's recap shall we. First you say Witcher 3 is disappointing because it's sales aren't that much bigger than an established well known console franchise. Then you assert that CDPRs budget was higher than Kojima's (which honestly just lmfao at that. For real wtf were you thinking) Finally you say you would be so much more impressed if digital was 250k for Witcher 3 as if that wasn't a forgone conclusion. You sure are in a roll aren't ya?

I stand corrected, really thought MGSV had a bigger budget.
