Honestly I feel like the more I play Halo 5... I just... I don't know. I just get so much more frustrated at it compared to many other shooters. It has the most amount of: "That was bullshit."

Yet I like the game... I want to play more... Still at times I have to stop playing because I get so annoyed.

I quit one game tonight, and at the end of like 4 matches later, it said I was banned for 42 seconds.

ok

*Actually I just looked and I guess I had quit 2. And I guess it was the match right before. I seriously don't recall quitting it, but it must've happened.

I think it's the 'people don't die instantly' syndrome you get after playing other shooters for years.

It's one of few shooters these days where getting the jump on some doesn't guaruntee a kill.

I feel the same way at times, it just feels like I'm not improving at all no matter how much I play. Most of the time I get frustrated in BTB, but I think that has more to do with spawns and the maps. Generally I don't get too frustrated when I play other arena modes. I realize that I did something stupid to die (bad aim, too aggressive, or simply just getting outplayed). WZ can really be frustrating, I don't know how many times I've called in an expensive req only to die two seconds later to some bullshit.

For the most part I still enjoy the game, but it can get annoying at times. However, that probably can be said about most games. I mean my most played Halo was and still is Reach, so I know a lot about bullshit lol.

In some ways I feel like the ability of a shooter to frustrate the piss out of people is the trait of a good shooter. It can mean that the game is fun and competitive - sometimes lol. Doesn't always hold true, but does so more often than not imo. I loved Halo CE and Halo 2, and both of those games would make me so mad at times. Halo 3 and Reach too. Can't say that my frustrations with Halo 5 have been any different or worse than prior Halo games.

Reminds me...

I was playing with a friend that doesn't play a ton of halo. We're playing pylon, a new breakout map for us and I notice a power up bottom mid glowing white. I tell him to cautiously push it with me, because camo is OP. he does, I die. He grabs "camo" and proceeded to hunt the enemy down casually, cause you know, he's invis! I finally change spectate cam to his pov and I'm like "dude, that wasn't camo, you aren't invisible. In fact, you are glowing white. That's a speed boost". Many lulz were had.
Ahaha I thought it was a camo too when I first played it. Grabbed it and was pleasantly surprised to find myself speed boosting instead.

Unlocked the DMR in a daily warzone win pack recently.

Sorry Sik and others I can't really play on US dedis to help testing maps...

I got booted at the start of a match stating I'm banned for having too much lag with the dedis? WTF 343.

From halfway to Plat back to Gold 4 in 3 games...

Isn't Gold 4 halfway to Plat?

I was half way at Gold 6, literally one or two wins to Plat, then it was a chain reaction starting by getting into map testing with Sik (accidentally accepted the invite before the match I was in was over), then got booted out of next game saying I was too laggy to the dedis, then a disconnect, then a loss against a full team.

I wish that it would boot me from U.S. Servers in arena lol. On waypoint they actually said that they will have a fix for getting put in servers out of region in the next update.

Anyway, I love that new blue, and them new bright weapon skins are sexy ad hell. Nice little update.

Are they resetting the ranks next week as well??

How often do the ranks reset?

I was wondering I'm going to Poland for the next 6 month will I be able to play Halo online with my NA version over there?

Absolutely unfucking believable the players I have been paired up with the past couple matches of arena. Quitters and scrubs. Can't buy a win for the life of me.

Diamond 2
Diamond 1
Diamond 1
Onyx 1521

vs

Onyx 1725
Diamond 3
Platinum 2 (Myself, who cant seem to break P5)
Gold 1

The final score was 45-50 thanks only in part to our Onyx going 24 and 10.
Personally I went 7 and 14 because shocker, the other team has map control down. (So many rockets.)
As expected our Gold 1 went 3 and 17, a whole -14 KD.

I've said it before but seriously fuck this fucking game, every high is met with an equal low. I won't be there for Halo 6, that's for sure.

And Yet the game ended 45-50, so it was a balanced game. People need to stop judging the true skill based on Arena placement, as I see it those 2 Dismond 1 are treally platinum level players. I take loosing a 45-50 game any day, it shows that it wasnt a blowout and if I want to justify reaching the next level I need to step my game up.

Ah so it's monthly. Thanks.

Yeah, but they are looking into feedback if people want shorter/longer seasons. If you want to chime in, go to the waypoint forums

I just got to diamond III in arena and its gonna suck to grind up to this but its whatever

Hopefully I get like gold in breakout for February. I'm so bad, even in plat :(

I'm terrible at opening matches and because Breakout is basically that every round... oof

To me I think three-month seasons would be best. No appeal in trying to do that well if only casual week and weekend playing doesn't give me enough time to rank up.

2/10 last matches were competive for me as a solo player. Halo is just an awful solo experience more often than not. I finally won one where I had competent teammates and half the other team quit. I was happy to finally win but it wasn't competitive.

Take ways from the stream

H2 BR looks and sounds sick! I'm really glad it's available in Arena

Riptide is a very attractive looking map. It's mostly UNSC again, but the natural touches are nice. I also like the color pallet; a nice aquatic take on Red v Blue. A high point of 343i's remix theme. I hope it plays well. I love asymmetric maps.

in contrast, Urban is a low point of the idea of making variants. I just can't get excited to fight over the same 3 objectives yet again. You'll spend up to 6minutes attacking the garage, with no change in approach. And up to 6 minutes attacking the home base, which has been the same approach in every single Warzone map. The only variation is the terrain around the armory. Hell they would have been better off keeping the monument.

I win more than lose solo or with a team. Doesn't matter. It's extremely rare for me to go under a 1.0 KD ratio. Generally I'm carrying dudes on my back. Oh well that's life.

Occasionally I'll have lag spikes but in my experience most of the H5 "bullshit" moments come from me just getting outclassed.

Especially when you compare it to other console shooters.

The new Community Breakout playlist has some great maps. Feels great to keep playing and keep discovering new maps too ; 10 is a great number.

Yeah, after playing mostly CoD ant BF the last few years and then getting back into Halo I feel Halo has the least amount of bullshit easily (not counting quitters). Usually it is the other guy is better or I'm fucking up.

I've never had a single moment that wasn't superior tactics or me getting overrun.

I've definitely had lag at times, but it's usually skill/my mistakes that fuck me up.

The way I see it, you're never going to get an online game without at least the risk of some bullshit moments, but H5 goes a long way to minimise them.

Hello HaloGAF.

Tomorrow the great journey begins. But the weight of some of your heresy will stay your feet. And you will be left behind.

Pm me if you want in on the Halogaf company. Gonna be looking to cleanse some inactives. Add some quality poopsockers. I'm thirsty for that Achilles armor.
Let's run some Onyx games man

Forgot to mention yesterday but one thing I didn't like about the Breakout playlist was ammo counts for weapons are not consistent across all of the maps.

You could pickup a BR on one map which has max ammo capacity and on another map you'd pick up a BR and only have one clip.

The thing about playing solo is that you never know what you are going to get on either side, so you need to go in assuming you are the best player in your team, and be the defining factor to win the game.

When I play solo, if my team doesn't win, I blame myself and just myself for not been good enough to carry my team, of course if you are on high level of play, Onyx and up, playing without a team is a disaster, but on noob tier levels, Diamond, Platinum, etc, you just need to get good enough to carry your team, as we usually see on Onyx going 24-10 or something against a team with diamonds and plats. in Halo 3 in MLG ranked my mentality was this: if I'm not good enough to win the game by myself, I don't deserve to go up in rank.
