Given the massive amount of screen tearing and framedrops in the "beta" footage put out last week I believe it.
Yea this is what I was getting at. Will this be the results of wanting to have the 1080p tag?

Holy image ruining chromatic aberration! Is there a way to disable it in-game?
Would this be the first Ubisoft open world game to run at 1080p on the Bone Zone?
It is significantly sharper looking than the XB1 Alpha, which was probably the same build used at EGX.I played this game at eurogamer on Xbox One, resolution wise it looked like a rats ass.
I will be very impressed if this is true, although I imagine there will be sacrifices on both the Xbox One and PS4.

That would give a good thread if this was not the case.
The gap is closing
Any xbox game can hit 1080p of you turn down the graphics and fps enough.Good I hope more x1 games reach 1080p
Images used for pixel counting
Fuck me that title mistake.... ._. EDIT thanks mods.

Good news?
I'm more concerned about if we can still turn off that stupid filter that makes it all look blurry. Couldn't stand it in Alpha.
I wait for DF. I am sure they'll have something tomorrow.
Also, The Division looks so damn bland compared to the reveal trailer, not even funny.

Its off by default in the beta. You can turn it on if you want. But hope nobody does that haha.
The animations are the same as they were before, they just adjusted the speed of them, things like vaulting and sliding are now quicker presumably so that there's less input lag and animation priority than before. The thing that's so crazy about this game in particular is that I actually think it looks quite nice, it just can't compare to the insane reveal quality. Honestly I think the biggest letdown here visually is animation, it looks stiff and given the overall fidelity, it stands out more than most games. This is exacerbated by a lack of motion blur so you can see the large spaces between animation frames clearly.
I'm not sure how accurate Gamingbolt is when it comes to pixel counting. Someone else could verify the screens. Why is this a rumor if screenshots are proof? Or someone counted pixel wrong.
This is good news, I am happy now. Thought the Alpha ran fine, though I still don't know what platform I am going to buy this for.
I have verified the areas they were counting, and some other areas on those screens too, and it certainly does look like it's native 1080p.
Maybe, but there's no way to tell without more footage. These two screens have edges where you can count that the image is 1920x1080 (i checked both horizontal and vertical)Maybe Dynamic Res?
Wow I'm surprised, I played the alpha and I legit thought it was running (pretty chopping I'll add) at 720p but maybe it's improved since then
What if 1080p 30 fps xbox one
900p 60 fps ps4?
would there still be a shit storm?
I mean, it's called an alpha for a reason.
Not happening. It's more likely that the PS4 version will be a closer match to the PC version in terms of lighting and detail. That's one area where the Xbox version looks pretty flat.
But then again this is Ubisoft, who have proven multiple times that they really don't give a shit about utilizing the PS4's extra power.
Developers don't just take a snapshot and release a build in a day. It was probably branched from their main development branch a month or a few before and had tests and fixes specifically getting it ready for early playtime.I know what you are saying but that was only 1.5 months ago and if my estimation was correct that means it went from 720p to 1080p in that time which is still extremely surprising.
Try adjusting settings like the CA and sharpening. There's also a pretty massive difference between 720p and 1080p,there is no way this game is 1080p on xbox. I have just been playing it for an hour. It looks straight up 720p to me. If it is 1080p it just goes to show how little resolution really affects the whole image. I think this game looks ruff on xbox. I just cant believe it is 1080p :/

Resolution affects image quality tremendously on fixed pixel displays. I suspect the game might be using dynamic resolution if it looks that bad at times.there is no way this game is 1080p on xbox. The alpha and even this beta aren't the builds that they have at the studio.I know what you are saying but that was only 1.5 months ago and if my estimation was correct that means it went from 720p to 1080p in that time which is still extremely surprising.
I'm with you. It's deffo 720p on xbox. I expect it to be 900p on ps4.
It's not matter of marginal power. Ps4 has a better hardware fit for 1080p. Xbone has not even the number of ROP necessary in the GPU. Sure ES RAM can help but give other bottleneck in the bandwith.I wouldnt be so sure, the ps4 is only marginally more powerful than the xbox one, i own both and there isnt a huge visual difference that people like to talk up. They are likely going to be close visually with the pc outpacing both of them significantly
On the one hand, Massive said they'd take advantage of each system's power, so if XBO is 1080p/30, PS4 should have some sort of enhancements that's more than just stable fps if they follow their word. Not happening.
