Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

I got Left 4 Dead 2 downloaded, but it's not recognizing that I own it. This happening to anyone else?

Switch your console to offline mode and it should start right up. You would obviously be limited to single player only though.

I have to do this with Geometry Wars which was available during preview but didn't make final release.

Have any of you played Halo Reach recently? If so how was it?

My friend wants to play co-op with me but said that they can wait if it still runs really badly

nowadays performance sucks less, but still sucks. I recommend that you hold, it's the only bc game that is unplayable in it's current state imo.

I am pretty sure I owned a lot more games than what is showing up on that list.

I recall owning that X-Men side scrolling arcade game and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Are they just not on the list due to licensing?

Should I expect launch stuff like Smash TV not to be there? I had one of the Street of Rage games as well. Garou Mark of the Wolves.

Is there another list I should be looking at?

Edit: Yeah, checking my Xbox 360 download history reveals more games.

There are arrows above the list (to the right) that will take you to the next page of games you own. I almost missed it too.

I went through the whole list.

A lot of my content is still not there.

I wonder if stuff bought MS Points doesn't show up unless it goes BC.

Edit: Symphony of the Night is there though and I definitely would have bought that with MS points.

Bolded don't show up.

It might not mean much of anything.

Honestly, a big selling point of Xbox One BC for me is just the convenience of having all your digital games show up as 'Ready to Install' rather than having to trawl through your download history to see what you own.

Any indication Fallout New Vegas will be backwards compatible?

I think EvB saw it being tested or something, and with Fallout 3 being BC it's probably only a small effort to get NV running.

Reminder: Just because a game has reached the point where its playable within the Xbox One emulator does NOT mean that its publishers are ready to sign off on its BC release.

....Remember what Mike Ybarra said about publisher support?
Our biggest obstacle there is working with publishers and getting their approval for the older titles. We continue to work on that right now, I would say, it varies in response across the publishers. Some are like 'yep, let's go, rock n' roll' and others are a little bit more thoughtful about how they want to think about that.

What I'm saying is we don't know if FO3's release was a one-off for Bethesda as a pre-order inducement, or if its indicative of a full-on embrace of backward compatibility.

I think it was more that people tried to downplay the feature when it was first announced in that nobody actually plays them because Sony said some small % of people used PS2 BC or something.

SP stick of truth is a lot of fun glad I grabbed it in the sale.

Best reason for BC so far for me. Not necessarily playing my old games, but being able to buy and play last gen games that I never got round to (and honestly never thought I would, now my 360 isn't plugged in).

There's an Xbox one version isn't there? I bought the 360 version anyway as it was on sale and it's not like the gfx matter :)

I *think* there might be a bit of input lag but i'm not sure. it just seems very very tight on when you have to hit the button prompts. Often i do better if I hit the button a bit before the relevant icon appears on screen. Attacks are fine but often i have to block before the shield appears.

Nope, not as far as I'm aware.

So Red Dead Redemption has come back big in the last few days, along with other non released titles.

The highest profile titles I've seen in testing are Skyrim and Alan Wake.

Some new updates may be on their way too, as I saw both Gears 3 and Judgement being tested again.

Anyone else experiencing framerate issues with Gears of War 2? I played a bit today after taking two months off and noticed constant framerate dips. I don't recall any issues with the framerate when I played it on the 360. In fact, I don't recall noticing any constant dips in framerate when I played it immediately after they made it available as a BC title.

This is such a great feature. I've played through Sonic CD and Nights over the weekend. Last gen had some fantastic XBLA ports of classic games and it's great that they won't be lost to the mists of time.

Let's hope RDR is soon then.. that's the one game I really want to replay lol.

We should be getting a few games this week I hope? Been 2 weeks since they said they'd release it when they're ready now and if they could get 10-20 games a month before I'm assuming we should get at least 1 or 2 a week now.

Is there ever going to be a time on this planet when I can play gunvalkrie for og xbox without an og xbox? Is that game forever lost? Does xb1 BC include 360 compatibility AND og xb compatibility?

Have you seen Injustice?

Cs go being compatible nips the whole "Csgo flopped on consoles" thing in the bud, right? I mean I had 9 friends buy it at launch, and was still finding full lobbies 2 years on.

You wouldn't bring over an dead online centric game, right?

It runs on the exact same engine as several other much higher profile games, it may be a case of when they tried it it simply worked perfectly , so they thought they might as well.

is there an Xbox marketplace thread on neogaf? I've used search, but nothing comes up.
I wanted to know MS policy regarding delisted games. Most of my dl games are still on the store, and I've been thinking of getting two games on the store for potential bc in the future(just in case both get pulled).

Can I redownload them without problem, or are they gone for good?
