Jake, do you have a confirmation on timing of release for the UK PSN store? I'm hoping it's 00:01 so I can get stuck right into it!

I believe when it comes to the game going online in the PlayStation Store, we serve at the pleasure of Sony. We opted to not do a midnight release (because it seemed insane to have the team stay up all night doing tech support), and as a result that means the game comes out... when they decide to flip the switch. Thanks man, didn't even think about the team having to stay up, especially when you guys wanna be popping the bubbly after all thw hard work as well for the release of the game ;P.

i just hope they give the option to lock it down to 30 fps. unity games trying for 60 fps are the worst.

Made a few adjustments, but I agree PS4 is having a great start to the year. I disagree about spreading them out though, there are more than enough games (mainly third party) coming out in Q4.

Back to the thread, so ready for Firewatch, I have only seen about 2 minutes of gameplay and a few screenshots. Also avoided any info on the story.

I dont really understand the too short comments. The first season of walking dead was actually about 5-7 hours played back to back. By that logic firewatch's length makes perfect sense. But we will all see for ourselves.

Hoping as well. Old footage on PS4 showed the game running unlocked with random spikes to 60fps. Maybe double buffered. Really hoping they cap at 30 if they can't do 60.

We think this will happen. There are various processes we have to finish up to enable preloading, which aren't worth explaining, but yeah it should be preload able before release day.

i fought forest fires one summer back in school and actually used to sort get a sort of 'firewatch' duty... spot fire patrol so a little different than fire watch but looking forward to this almost in a sort of nostalgic way... a sort of auburn red mountain horizon at night as fires burned on its other side is one of my strong visual memories so every time I see the art style of this game I get a little nostalgic almost.

guess it's actually going to be my first purchase of the year. it would be xcom 2 but my pc can't run it

still kinda not even sure what the game is about per se haha if there's intrigue, a twist, dunno if it becomes even a survival game, horror, even a little sci-fi haha zero clue. but i kinda like that so i'm going to avoid any more previews or reviews and just go in blind =p and run with it, see where it goes haha kinda fun have no idea whatsoever to expect

Guess it will be just fine. As you have a retina too and mid '15 I assume, you should hopefully be fine.

Thanks for answering. I have the 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5-prosessor with the Intel HD 6100, 8GB RAM. Its just the 13 inch so it is not as powerful as the 15.

No other graphics card? The system specs on steam say "dedicated graphics card required". Not sure if this means that the intel cards are not supported. Beside the gpu, you should be totally fine. But you should have an nvidia / ati gpu too.

As I don't know how experienced you're using macs:

The "About this mac" panel only shows the intel gpu. Go to the more detailed view about your mac (button on the lower left... should be something like system diagnosis) There you should fined 2 gpus via Hardware -> Graphics / Displays

We haven't had great luck running this game on integrated graphics cards.

It's entirely possible you'll be able to run it with some settings turned down, we just can't provide tech support to machines that fall under the minimum spec (because in some cases there's just nothing we can really do about it). But it's totally fine to try it out and get a Steam refund if it doesn't work, as long as you make sure to test it out within the refund window.

Since it's a Unity game I don't have any hopes for it running at 60.
