I don't think I've ever seen that stated, and them actually putting more work into another update would unfortunately still be highly irregular in the history of post-new game Halo support.

You could try hitting up Bravo or another 343 dev on Twitter and see if they'll say anything, but I'd be surprised if we got anything considering we haven't heard a peep since the last update.
343i said we'd get Halo 3 playlist updates when Halo 4 came out. They also said we'd get a Reach playlist update the month before Halo 4 came out. They've said a bunch of times that they will do what they can for MCC after Halo 5, but I'm guessing their word will go as far as it did before.

Source on those statements? We got a playlist update before Halo 4 for Reach, are you saying they said they'd do something after H4 came out?

Work is underway on some playlist changes and server-side changes to improve matchmaking speed

Hey, thanks for your post. The team here has been working with the live team to determine what types of issues might still be occurring (matchmaking success rates have greatly improved since issues were first reported) for some players.
If you're still seeing issues, can you post or PM me your gamertag, playlist(s) you're experiencing the issues in, and a description of the issues (long search times, etc)? We'll pass the group of gamertags over to the right folks for a look. Thanks to all of you who passed me your gamertags last month - these reports led to the aforementioned improvements, but we're aware that more reports popped up during the holidays and have been looking into.
In addition to this, we need to make some playlist changes as well as server-side changes to improve matching speed and success, and work is already underway on both of these.

Logged into TrueAchievements.com and had a message waiting for me:

After exactly 220 days, the achievement finally popped.

Now, if only the Killjoy achievement would finally pop, because it still says 9% while I have 254 Killjoys.

599/600 achievements. :(

Edit: I wrote Stinkles yesterday about it. Coincidence or based Stinkles?

Congrats I'm still waiting on 4 to pop from last July I had actually forgot about them until I saw your post. Maybe one day they'll pop.

Eh, I'm still waiting for my audio log achievements to pop. Convinced it will never happen at this point.

Thanks. You will know in 30 days. :p

I'd really like to know what actually caused this. I really don't like this new achievement system. Either pop or don't, but don't have a state in the middle.

On the MCC front, we just today made server updates to improve matchmaking speed, including an adjustment to ranking windows for ranked play, ensuring that you’ll find players within 14 levels of your own rank (rather than 9 levels of your own rank) faster. Also, the team updated the playlists earlier today, and Infection has returned due to its demand as well as previous popularity. HCS and Halo: CE 4v4 have been rotated out of the lineup, and the team is working on future playlists (both returning and new stuff), as well as the possibility for further consolidation. We know some players are willing to wait longer-than-usual to get matches in specific playlists, so we’ll be careful when determining which playlists come and go.

Nice to hear we'll get some additional tweaks.

So you know how halo games work online.

Well that was over ten years ago. I also used to play Halo 1 on GameSpy where I could make a game of anytime and people would connect based on available game types. Match Making is completely stupid if it just throws me into a bunch of game times that are awful. I'm 27 years old, I don't have friends who play video games anymore.

The Halo 3 one was a bs angel tweet. She tweets so often that I don't particularly want to go through her tweet history looking for it. Halo Reach's last playlist update was 3 months before Halo 4 came out. The only thing that has been updated since then was the splash message.

This is different though, Halo 3 and Reach were stable when 4 released updates or not they would be fine, the Master Chief Collection was a total embarrassment that Microsoft funded millions into that caused global backlash, they simply can't not forget about it with a shiny new Halo because it damages both 343i and Microsoft's brands as a whole and you better bet daddy Microsoft is going to let 343i skirt away when it thinks their name is damaged.

It helps that Halo 5 did get positive feedback during launch but 1 slip up from the MCC again and its right back to the brand damaging articles from a year ago. the way I see it the MCC will get updates from now on maybe not as fast but we'll continue to see it updated just for the fact that its a monument to all their sins.

Silly question but if I uninstall MCC, can I redownload it at a later date?

I ran out of space on my X1 and this is taking up over 100GB of space. Should have opted for a 1TB console but oh well.

Yup you can re-install it. It will appear on the "Ready To Install" tab in Games & Apps

You can get a 1TB external USB 3.0 HDD, which is much faster than the internal HDD, for like $50 now-a-days. Since the 1TB console is usually $50 more anyway, it actually works out to be better to go with the small console, as you'd get a total of 1.5TB for the same price. :p

Aside from cleaning up the achievement/misc. glitches that are worth targeting and improving matchmaking, I'm not really sure what other support would be necessary at this point. Halo 5's Forge is so much better than even H2A's, combined with the fact that we have every map in Halo already in matchmaking, so a Forge playlist doesn't make much sense. I guess a few more Action Sack game types.

I still need that infection playlist. They actually had a really good one for TMCC. Make it permenant, since Halo 5 is missing silly game types like this currently.

Infection's in TMCC right now, and reading between the lines it sounds like it's going to be permanent as long as the demand is there for it.

What about Campaign bugs?

Falls under the glitches part of that clause :) What big issues remain? I dunno if the co-op saving is still borked, but personally I haven't run into any noticeable issues since launch, whether losing playlist progress or something within the campaigns themselves.

I just finished Halo 4 the other day and the part at the very end when it prompts you to hit a certain button it told me the wrong button, googled the issue and it has existed for several months at least.

There are alot of bugs especially ehennit comes down to the co-op netcode in Halo 2 & 3.

In the multiplayer they still need to fix networking and hit detection, aswell as emblems in Halo 2 wnd Halo 3. I also think armor customisation needs to return ptoper in Halo 3 and Halo 4 aswell.

Well, just off the top of my head, trying to use the Remastered soundtrack in CEA is easily broken. Dying, reloading a checkpoint, or restarting a level will switch the soundtrack to Classic.

Also, the last cutscene of Reclaimer in Halo 4 still looks like this:

Instead of this:

I understand that a lot people really only care about the MP at this point, but the long term preservation of these Campaigns in their highest quality form should be just as important IMO. I hope that one day all the Campaign bugs are squashed and we get 1080p 60fps Halo Reach in the collection.

The only way the campaign bugs are getting fixed at this point is if MCC comes to PC and they back-port any fixes to the Xbox One version. Otherwise MCC is dead outside of occasional playlist updates.

Yeah screw that, the PC version will not happen if they don't fix the issues on the xbox one or issue a recall and re-release it.

Dont hold your breath. 343 was just biding their time until 5 came out so that they could throw this shit in the trash and pretend it never happened. Frank said that wouldnt happen but well, here we are.

I'm guessing the final sequence of 4 still tells you to press the entirely wrong button, making it impossible for any newcomers lol

Even though I'm not expecting much, I would also like for the MCC to fix up the campaigns. Keeping all of them as glitch-free as possible and working properly should be just as important as the multiplayer. I feel right now in between Action Sack, Infection, SWAT and Hardcore, that the playlists in TMCC are varied and fun between all four games.

And yeah, Halo 4's Reclaimer still bugs me. That and campaign/playlist progess restarting itself. I'm not expecting Reach to come to the Collection, though, especially as we just got it in BC. Plus, TMCC has a ton of work for it, and I know people are going to keep poking and prodding until they're happy with it.

At least Infection is back. =D

Xbox.com is showing I've unlocked the achievements and TrueAchievements still has it locked. I'll have to check on the Xbox One tonight. Apparently I "unlocked" this achievement on 23rd June so 205 days ago for me.

So there IS an MCC thread, silly me

So, Halo 5 bummed me out and I want to get back to the good old Halo, how's the multiplayer nowadays? I'm really only interested in the wackier game modes of Halo 3, not the super competitive arena stuff or anything. Enough population, and does it actually work? I remember reading a lot of depressing stuff about the online functionality.

Also, someone mentioned varying framerates during local coop, is it bad? Would love to replay the games locally with my brother. Hell, coop would be enough for me to get the collection, working online multi or no, as long as the performance isn't terrible.

Action Sack and Infection seem to have healthy populations.

I've played through all the games sporadically during local coop and haven't experienced any game-breaking slowdowns or really any severe dips aside from a hiccup here or there around loading zones or a sudden cluster of explosions. They should be fine.

Awesome, that's all I really needed! I can get it for 30 euros, so a tiny push was enough lol

Man, legendary coop was fucking great back in the day, hope it's still as fun as ever

Man I really love the Halo 4 map Morgan Bay. The little houses are great. Plus, the Hivemind gametype really nails the playing field and makes it fair for both Spartans and Flood.

So my nameplates and achievements are out of sync. I just finished up getting my par score in Halo 3 achievements, but the nameplates say that I'm missing the Ark. I went through my achievements to make sure it is unlocked and it is. I know I'm never going to use the bronze Gravity Hammer, but it would still be nice to have unlocked.

Just played this after a small break. I'm glad that they finally updated the playlists.
Hopefully there will be a lot more updates to come. Make the game GwG too and bring some more people into this Halo cracklife.

Edit: I'm finding players really fast too. This is awesome.

This would be a pretty good candidate for a GwG, that's for sure. Maybe in the fall.

Probably the only reason it hasn't gone GwG is because right now MS is milking it as much as possible as a pack-in item with Xboxes. Probably also why the population is still decent; I play at odd hours but I can still find H2A and H4 games fairly quickly.

Just trying to grind out these stupid multiplayer achievements so I can play the game stress-free.

Also, it's really weird to go back to playing the previous games after Halo 5. Even with the sound off there's just so much more controller rumble and feedback to everything that H2A feels positively silent.

I don't know if they'll make TMCC a GwG game, i think they'll try to get every penny out of it possible given all the extra work that's gone into it to make it not be a flaming piece of poop.

I would be surprised if it ever went GwG, especially when they're sitting on launch day stuff still like Ryse and such.

Sounds like Ryse not going GwG is much more a matter of disagreements between MS and Crytek.

well what i was getting at is that there's still plenty of much older stuff that can be mined for GwG

plus, making TMCC a GwG title will likely impact Halo 5, something i dont see them wanting to do.
