Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Just preordered from BB with Gcu and some gift cards it turned it to be $38 but I got an email telling me cammy won't be received till 3/31? Maybe that date means something? As in the preorder skins come out or the first day the season pass goes into effect

They did say the in game store wont be available until march, so maybe these costumes are all part of it. I'm guessing in march all of the premium costumes will be available for purchase and the people who preordered will be able to get their cammy/ryu/bison/chun then

Rashid's f.mp is -15 on hit? That can't be right can it?

His s.mp is +2 on block, that's good information to have.

Anything that hits twice from one input will be incorrect on that site because it isn't looking for hits beyond the first after input is made.

Only 10 stages?

So the stage we saw in F.A.N.G. trailer is the boss stage?

Seems so, unfortunately. 10 + 1 training stage, with the purple one showing the four king busts being the boss stage. I had hoped for at least one more to make 12 total, if only to fix the stage select screen that currently has 6 stages on one side and a burning, empty 6th spot on the other side, but alas.

Like I've been repeating (too many times perhaps, sorry), this means that many characters have official art that shows a stage that is not currently in the game. This includes Rashid (= Dubai inspired stage), Necalli (= something with a cliff and temple, possibly in South America), F.A.N.G. (= despite an old magazine(?) showing his asian temple style stage in an older build I believe), and R.Mika (= wrestling ring) (and perhaps even Ryu if the temple on the left of the Kanzuki estate stage isn't the same one as his art shows). Moreover, people like Nash and Birdie have art that hints at currently unreachable, off-screen parts of existing stages (Waterfall and Union Station respectively) being accessible (originally or still planned).

Hopefully they plan on offering at least a few more stages as DLC later so that everything seen in the art will correspond with a stage. Then again that would be a first ever for SF I think, stage DLC.

Ok, I'll shut up about the stages again now...

Edit: except for asking this: in which stages do you guys think the DLC characters will go, assuming each of them "belongs" (aka shows up) in a stage?
Ibuki > Kanzuki since there are ninja there;
Alex > New York since he's already there;
Balrog > either New York or one of the two Shadaloo stages I think;
Juri > no idea, depends on her story and current affiliation;
Urien > either the Forgotten Waterfall (due to the Illuminati style statues to the right in the cave) or the possibly still coming Necalli S.A. stage;
Guile > also depends on where the story places him, so not sure.

In Beta 1 or 2 (I forgot) they put Karin's stage as purchasable with Fight Money. Whether or not they were just testing the purchasing system we could very well see purchasable stages.

I see. I missed that. Fingers crossed this could be a hint indeed.

Negative. As I've found out from scouring youtube for SFV vids, the pre-order costumes are in the cracked beta and selectable. Making you wait for a month to play with a pre-order bonus that is on disc doesn't sound very smart.

Maybe March is when they'll be purchasable for non pre-orders?

"I'd love to see Guile being released first. He was my main in past Street Fighter games and there aren't many charge characters in the initial roster... Just M. Bison..."

Chun-li has as many charge moves as she's always had. Necalli has a charge move.

"Scissors Kick L doesn't feel +0 on block..."

It doesn't say it's +0 on block, it says L Scissors are -7 or -9 on block. I'm assuming the difference is whether you only land with one hit or not.

It shows -7 on block for LK scissors, but they're not correct since they hit twice (point blank they are actually -4/-3/-2).

Not sure why Inferno is missing entirely but it would have been really inaccurate anyway. They're all pretty unsafe on block though.
Thanks guys. It must have been a phone display issue.

Although all of this content may have been ditched at some point in development, there was content found through datamining that implies the other stages (not just China) have stage elements that are locked off. For instance, Dan is apparently a background character in the Kanzuki Estate stage. Plus, some of the background stuff in the character art can be seen in the stages themselves (you mentioned the Illuminati statues already).

I'm curious about those pink ninjas. They're also fighting in the Shadaloo stage so I'm curious how they are involved in the storyline. If I had to venture a guess, the Kanzuki family is waging war against Shadaloo (for killing Karin's parents or whatever) so they hired a bunch of pink ninjas to be their soldiers. And I wouldn't surprised if those ninjas were Ibuki's clan and Karin just decided to outfit them in pink for the hell of it.

second game I pre order with my first ever salary first was Yakuza Kiwami waiting on it to arrive, march maybe Division

Congrats...enjoy!

Gamespot Ono interview:
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/street-fighter-5s-yoshinori-ono-on-picking-pokemon/1100-6434501/

Discusses all sorts of very random things:

If you could have a farm with 100 of one animal, what animal would it be?

Ono: Easy: Sheep.

If you could have one mythical creature which one would it be?

Ono: I’d like a living skeleton warrior because even if they’re defeated and in pieces they can rebuild themselves and carry on fighting.

You’ve clearly thought about this before.

Ono: I’d use my skeleton warrior to look after my 100 sheep. He’d be undefeatable.

I think by the time Story mode rolls out we will have another 6 stages that can be purchased with Fight money. Reason being of all the background art for each character. Also it would benefit the story mode to have more locales for the story to take place.

I hope this game gets a shitload of unlockable stages as DLC. It would be a good Fight Money dump to have in between character releases.

I hope for stage DLC as well, but I highly doubt we'll be able to purchase every DLC character with fight money and have an excess left over for stages and costumes, unless you play (and win) an incredible amount.

Love this stage so much. Reference to SF2 The Movie, which is still one of my top 10 films of all time. It's the best combination of action/fanservice.
Dat Ryu/Sagat fight.

Man that was good, I loved the shots of the empty road during the lightning too, then back to the fight!

Lmao, Ono is the best.

Have you ever secretly insulted an interviewer but let your interpreter cover it up for you?

No but one interviewer mistook me for Bandai Namco’s Harada-san. I wasn’t offended, I just pretended to be him for the whole interview and answered on his behalf. I talked a lot about Tekken that day. [Ono sighs]

This. Also, somewhat surprisingly, I think Ryu's snow stage from SFA2 would work really well in 3D. As a 2D stage it was whatever, but you can do so much, seemingly easily, in UE4.

Also would like to see a great wall of China stage again for Chun. The character themes fall flat when the stages are shared. Such a missed opportunity. Still holding out the slightest hope that these shared stages will at least be dynamic, but I know I'm being foolish.

Anyone get the battle costume for Cammy at Best Buy? On the website it says -

Pre-order STREET FIGHTER V to receive an exclusive alternate costume for Cammy! Decked out in mission gear, Cammy is ready to complete her next objective!
Pre-order. Release date: 03/31/2016

Do you not get the code until then?

Could you all handle it if they pushed release back from 2/16 to 3/31?

That seems to be the end of the fiscal year so many they just haven't updated it. Still I'm wondering do you get the code immediately when you preorder in store?
