*SPOILERS* The Walking Dead TV show, leaks, and comic book SPOILER discussion thread

Nah, Dwight took the crossbow last season-half. Dammit, Dwight.

Makes me wonder if they will have him kill Abraham as he did in the comics. But that would mean they would be killing him off way before they introduce Negan in the season finale. Considering Abraham died 2 issues before Negan and Lucille were introduced.

Not really, Negan is being introduced in the finale. Can kill Abraham the episode before that.

I had Abe penciled in to get his comic counterpart's crossbow in the eye death courtesy of Dwight at the start of the season but you'll note I've since changed my tune.

Believe Tara is doing the honors so Alanna can go home and be a Mom. (Rosita's an outside possibility if Tara goes out a different way.)

The pacing of this back half of the season is going to be interesting given that tonight's episode essentially ended at the conclusion of Issue 84 and we've only got 7 episodes to pave the way to the expected Season 6 capper of Issue 100. That's a lot of territory to cover given how lethargic the show's adaptation pace has been up until this point.

Alright back to thinking it will be Glenn again. They're just taking the piss now with all his near death escapes.

They're trying to make people think he is untouchable and can find his way out of any situation.

In light of all Glenn's close calls this season and throughout the series, I think it has to be him

7 times if I'm counting correctly where we thought his character could possibly die lol.
Season 1 - captured by vatos guys
Season 2 - well walker
Season 3 - Merle setting the walker on him while in the room
Season 4 - Maggie thinks Glen died in the bus with everyone else but he got off before it left
Season 5 - end of the season survives Nicholas attack with walkers on him
Season 6 - we have had 2. Dumpster dive and now last minute Abe/Sasha save from a mob of zombies.

Edit: 8 because he almost died at terminus with getting his throat cut.

Glenn makes sense but what is the point of adapting the Enid-Sophia storyline if the character development will only last for like 4 (?) episodes?

you never know, they could have another guy hiding in the trees watching it all or something.
Then that guy would've been armed and would've came out of the bushes to point is firearm at them. And if he had a vehicle to follow them, Daryl would be able to tell if they're being followed.

Maybe you're right though, they're could be something like that. You really can't tell with this show.

Does Alanna WANT to? I keep seeing this sentiment and it's not like Sonequa Martin-Green quit the show because she had a baby.

Re: Abraham, I believe Kirkman said he regretted taking Abe out that way, but it would be interesting if it did just transfer to another character or even carried it through. That death hit me hard. It just seemed so random, so ignoble for Abe (but that's why it was affecting).

I've already seen the next episode but I won't write a detailed summary and instead just drop some nuggets. It's not a very eventful episode anyway, so I guess it's fine.

- There's a time jump, Carl is fine, it's quiet and peaceful in Alexandria, people are cleaning up and rebuilding.

- The main plot revolves around Rick and Daryl who are on a supply run. They meet Jesus who tricks them and steals their truck full of supplies. They catch up with him but the truck ends up sinking into a lake unintentionally. It's all quite fun, especially the banter between Daryl and Jesus. They take Jesus with them to Alexandria as a captive but he shows up in Rick's bedroom at the end of the episode, telling him they need to talk.

- There's a subplot with Michonne and Spencer as well as Carl and Enid roaming through the woods. Not much happens during the Carl and Enid part. They find a walker Carl doesn't want to kill, but it isn't revealed who it is. Later, Michonne and Spencer find the same walker - lured into their direction by Carl - and it turns out to be a zombified Deanna. Spencer kills her and finds closure.

- By the end of the episode, Rick and Michonne have sex, just like that. They hold hands, make out and then have sex and when Jesus arrives in Rick's bedroom they're naked in bed together.

- Denise mentions that Tara and Heath are about to go on a 2 week supply run which makes me think they will be captured by Negan and Tara will be toast soon (taking Holly's place from the comics).

That's it, basically. It's a fun little episode, but as I said, not very eventful, just some table setting.

I cannot believe
Richonne
is happening!!! I'm so stoked. Dudes on Reddit are already calling it part of the SJW liberal agenda lol.

I kind of wanted Rick to come across Jessie and her kids in the last episode, especially since Ron didn't get a headshot or completely swarmed

can't wait to see it

Again, comes from a member known as "Daydream Machine" @ TSDF. The last two summaries from this fellow have been accurate for the most part, so chances are this is too.

Yes, it is that time again, dear folks. The next chunk of spoilery goodness is already upon us. Here are my impressions for episode 11, Knots Untie, another efficient and interesting table setting episode that introduces the Hilltop colony and expands on the threat that Negan poses (without showing him or the Saviors, of course):

Jesus tells the gang about the Hilltop Colony and hopes to establish diplomatic bonds between the communities for trading (he noticed that Alexandria runs low on food, but has a lot of armory). A group heads off with him to check it out. The group includes Rick, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl and Abraham. On their way, they notice an overturned car at a gas station or something. Jesus says the car belongs to his community and he wants to check for survivors ("we don't have many fighters"). The others suspect that it might be a trap, check inside the station anyway and pick up 4 people alive and (more or less) well after killing some walkers. One of the saved guys, named Harlan, mentions later in the caravan that he's a doctor, specifically a gynecologist after he learns that Maggie is pregnant. Glenn doesn't seem very happy that the guy is possibly about to see his wife's vag.

They arrive at the Hilltop and the saved people help to establish some trust and get them in (the guards only have spears anyway, no guns, or more specifically no bullets left). They bring the gang to their leader Gregory, who immediately turns out to be an arrogant asshole who tells the group condescendingly to clean themselves up before they talk. Rick is already sick of him and tells Maggie to take care of the diplomacy. Maggie attempts to make a deal, trading food for armory and medicine, but Gregory isn't having any of it, is condescending again (he repeatedly calls her Natalie), demands that they work for the food and no deal is made.

Later, another Hilltop group returns from a trip, obviously decimated. Gregory wonders where the rest is and one of them, named Ethan, answers that they were killed by Negan and that he was ordered by the Saviors to send a message to his fellow hilltop folks, so that Negan leaves his brother Craig alive, who was captured. He proceeds to stab Gregory, which is the message. A fight ensues, Rick kills Ethan, Abraham is almost choked to death, everybody calms down again and Gregory is wounded but alive. Jesus explains that the Saviors are a group of violent marauders who regularly demand resources for the community's safety. Daryl mentions that they killed a bunch of the Saviors quite easily, proclaims that Negan is a bluffer and that they will take care of him. Later, Maggie has another talk with the recovering Gregory and turns the tables on him. She professes that her group knows how to deal with guys like the Saviors. She offers to save the captured guy and get rid of the Saviors, but demands half of the Hilltop's resources as a one-off. Gregory has no other choice than to agree.

There's a subplot involving Abraham throughout the episode where he apparently still struggles with his adrenaline addiction/PTSD/whatever and wonders if it's possible for him to settle down and have a family. He asks Glenn and Maggie, if they think it'll work out with the child (the answer is yes). Also, he obviously wonders which woman is the ideal partner to settle down. The episode begins with him and Sasha returning from patrolling, he's flirting with her, but she tells him that she changed her shift and Eugene will now be his partner. Later he's in bed with Rosita but thinks about Sasha. At the end of the episode, after he was almost choked to death, he apparently comes to the conclusion that settling down and raising a family in this world isn't an option for him.

The episode ends with another demand from Maggie. She demands an ultrasound (they have the devices at Hilltop) and the group looks at the pictures of the unborn child emotionally while driving back to Alexandria.
Almost no goodies for Richonners after last episode. Rick and Carl have a quick talk about it and Carl's cool with it. Rick and Michonne briefly hold hands while driving. No sightings of Carol, Morgan, Tara, Eugene, Gabriel or the Alexandrians. Denise has a brief scene with Daryl where she gives him a self-made cake as traveling fare (Daryl: "I hope it tastes better than it looks. It looks like shit.").

Again, these summaries don't include everything from the episode.

Small thing: have y'all thought about the number of straight up bad motherfuckers they have on the show versus the comic at this point? Especially if Abe isn't going to get the random ignoble arrow to the head death?

Carol - dead in comics, was never badass anyway
Morgan - dead in comics, much more badass in show
Michonne
Rick
Glenn - immune to all things, at least for now
Maggie - less depressed than in comics, more badass
Aaron - lesser badass, but still
Daryl - doesn't exist in comics
Abraham - badass
Sasha inherited Andrea's aim
Rosita
Tara - lesser badass but very capable

Plus Carl, who was becoming badass and who may still be, Enid, who is no Sophia, and even Gabriel and Eugene are in the mix now. And Heath has some badass levels in him, too!

The only one who's missing is Andrea, really, and we have Sasha instead. And now we'll have Jesus, who is a seriously bad motherfucker in his own right. They're gonna have to start losing people quick or people might just wonder why the apocalypse isn't solved already. I'M NOW WORRIED ABOUT EVERYONE.

It's okay. Negan and his group will fuck their shit up. Rick's gang may peak higher in badassery but they'e going to be laughably outnumbered. This isn't like some small Governor woodbury force, but I'm sure you know that - being a reader of the comics. Negan literally has hundreds working for him.

Yeah, but it's hundreds of plebs. Brutal plebs, but still just extras and dudes versus this tight group of badasses. But numbers. but badasses! Man, though, I'm ready to see that play out despite being very attached to people.

YOU GUYS: FEELINGS, I HAVE THEM. I HAVE THEM ALL.

Can't wait to see this realized on screen. I'm going to wager they up the count of Saviors Rick's group is surrounded by in the show.

There was a report from TSDF during one of the shoots that upwards of 50 bikers were seen on set and that was probably just some of them. It'll definitely be presented in a way that we haven't seen before.

In the comics, Negan even had freaking outposts. His presence was everywhere.

Doesn't even seem like Morgan will be there, soooooo...

-sad horn for Glenn-

Further to that the interviews with Andy and Lauren stating how it was the saddest day on set means it won't be Morgan who's only been in a handful of episodes.

A lot of foreshadowing this episode, and a lot of red flags going up for Glenn

Mainly Maggie's comment about how the fight is going to cost them something, but also the whole subplot with the baby and the end with a happy Glenn passing the picture around

I just went back and skimmed through the comics to try and fit together the preview. In the comics they have road speech on the way home from Hilltop, but in the preview I believe I saw Carol with them. After that they get ambushed by the Survivors on the way back home. Following that is the speech in the church and Abraham's death.

So I don't know what part they're doing with the group inside a building with guns.

I noticed this too. I watched this entire episode with a feeling in the pit of my stomach, knowing what's most likely coming.

Didn't catch this when watching, good point. Would they really do it?

I think Abraham's been confirmed for the finale. From what I've read on Spoil The Dead, one of the latter episodes has Daryl on his own, on a mission "for her". So either Tara or Rosita is getting the crossbow death

With how close this half is following the comics, either the end of this week, or the following week.

Unless we get a Dwight flashback then it could be the week after, still have 5 episodes left so gotta space them out a bit.

Edit: Just read badass post, surprising thought they'd be happy to get rid of him since they already have plenty of testosterone flying about, not to mention the buildup of his character last episode. Maybe they'll do a whole episode about his breakup instead.

Tara's already been corroborated as getting a death that satisfies that timeline.

Rosita is more nebulous (hence my 50/50 stance on her pre-midseason premiere).
If she goes, it's like Episode 15 and I believe that's too late in the season to satisfy the Daryl motivation angle.

;_; I know it's true but it makes me so sad. Love her.

I love her character, don't like where she ended up though. Shoved out, less screentime when she's got enough personality and charm to be a main. Really didn't enjoy the whole "let's force her to be with another lesbian" stuff for no real reason. They hardly even knew each other and had the one of the most awkward and forced kisses I've ever seen. Then she's just nowhere to be found.

She deserved better.
