I hear this so much from Destiny defenders, it should be a meme. Saying this over and over again does not make it a fact. (And I've played through every Destiny expansion)
I don't even like Destiny (beat all missions, shelved it before raids/TTK came out, haven't played since) but it's true. Division is basically Destiny in third person with way shittier gameplay mechanics. And a cooler setting I guess?

He's already stated he has a bias
In my opinion I believe Destiny does play better than what I played of the division in terms of game feel. But, I think Division is doing a lot more better things that Destiny did. I am not picking it up, but I would like to see the game do well.
Her silence is pretty telling, really. No BiogamerGirl endorsement. No sale.

Is it bad that I think both Division and Destiny have good gameplay mechanics for the genres they are in which are TPS and FPS respectively?
Cause I enjoy shooting guns in both and I'd say both feel pretty good for what they are doing.
If anything, the Division being better would only push Bungie to get its shit together, so I'm hoping it's a better overall game.
What's way shittier?
Opinion. I'll reserve my own until I've actually played through all of the Division.
Not for good. Destiny still has vastly better core gameplay and Destiny 2 will be a massive success. The Division feels more like a nice substitute until Bungie gets their shit together.

Gunplay in Division is really bad from feel of the guns to look, sound and lack of feedback. Missions and level design were incredibly bland but I only got to level 8 before I uninstalled the game and canceled my amazon preorder.
If you think Division is nothing like Destiny, you haven't played them both. They are quite similar.
I think it really depends on if you like cover-based shooters or not. I found the Division's controls to be counter intuitive and I kept hopping over one wall or hiding behind the wrong ledge. I also found the blind shooting/aiming mechanic to be pretty stupid.just an absolute load of baloney.

But then again, I really don't like cover-based shooters. So what is typical fare (and perhaps done really well) for those fans of the genre are just quite cumbersome and irritating to me.
*still remembers the Jason Schreier report about Activision sticking to their strict schedule*until Bungie gets their shit together.
NYC's gotta get the salt for their streets somehow.
To be fair, I looked up the GameZone quote: It was them talking about beta numbers, and how The Division "blew destiny out of the water".
The Division blows Destiny out of the water with 6.4 million beta players

What if the Division was our Destiny all along?
I agree. Destiny having multiple MP modes vs the single (awful) mode of The Division is also another factor that I think will prevent people from sticking around.
I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain why we are the wolves.

That's a pretty horribly misleading use of a half-quote.
division will hit a content wall just like every game of this type.. the only question is will it be sooner rather than later
Sounds and looks really good though if you don't investigate it, doesn't it?

Destiny's audience is for the taking, and The Division may successfully take quite a lot of them.
Didn't say it wouldn't, but The Division is a new game so it's way more appealling to play than Destiny at this point.
It is because it's a new game but once destiny releases new content all those players will be back.Didn't say it wouldn't, but The Division is a new game so it's way more appealling to play than Destiny at this point.
exactly.i'm excited for the divison, and i think it's going to be a very good game, but i just don't see this game possibly having the staying power that destiny does.
the current state of destiny means nothing. when new content drops, everyone will be back.
