Thanks for your support everyone :) The game still isn't up proper on the store but should hit every storefront overnight (It's mid Tuesday here in Aus already which is why you might see it).

The price is 14.99 USD or 14.99 Euros but there'll be a 30% discount for two weeks if you're a PS+ user, we weren't sure when the stores would update but reviews are 'embargoed' (Though it's a pretty soft one) until about 12 hours from now which is when we thought Launch would be happening, so if you want to wait on those they should be up around the time of the PSN update in most regions.

A couple leaked early already which I've been quite happy with, only smaller sites and most got taken down as they went up by accident but so far nothing below an 8 :p So hopefully that means our efforts to bring Cactus to PS4 aren't too bad.

I know a lot of folks are concerned about performance especially in the wake of Broforce and other Unity games having significant issues, I won't claim our performance is flawless in all scenarios but you can get a taste for it by watching our Vote to Play video which was all captured on PS4 a few weeks before we went gold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVLZJ_Q3gR4

Yup, sorry I didn't write it in my post (did mention it in the updated OP, though!) but it only seems to be available in Australia right now. But I don't think it's much more than 24 hours away.

As for Shareplay:
If you’re looking for a more casual pick-up-and-play, fun experience or a challenging path towards mastery, there’s a lot to like about this game. The game also supports Shareplay, a “virtual couch” that allows you to invite a friend to join your game for up to one hour at a time, creating an online local co-op experience.

So is this game still coming to Wii U?

And Vita, you might have noticed in the Vote to Play stuff we were still not working with a publisher and handling all the ports ourselves which means things take us a little longer, on the flip side it means everything that goes out is us giving it 100% to make sure the conversions are as good as they can be.

Still salty Broforce (ugh) got picked for PS+ instead of this, even gaffers failed me and voted for that
I'm tight on money and have a huuuuuuge backlog to work through but I've waited so long to get this game on console after liking it on PC

Where are you located? I'd love to but I think it wouldn't be feasible with a game like this unless you're EU based

Edit: Duh, that's what you just said. Yeah, I'm in the US and latency is going to be an issue.
 
I was at a local gaming meet up on Wed last week and we actually got 4 players AAC co-op going. I wish I would have recorded some of it on my phone. That shit was beyond hype.

Fired this up and god-damn, after having played it at PAX Aus I'd forgotten how smooth it ran on PS4. This is going to be a killer party game, I think.

While I'm sure there are specific differences between this and the PC version, from memory they basically look identical. And runs at 60fps flat, too.

Nothing is ever perfect but I'm happy to be judged by the community on our technical performance, Tim practically chained himself to his desk for months to get things as seamless as they could be.

Folks asking about Cross Buy just keep in mind we aren't launching PS4/Vita simultaneously, just PS4 this week! Vita some time later this year along with Wii U.

I voted for this and I agree with you. Made no sense broforce won. Now people are complaining how bad it is. Suits them right lol
 
I think I'll wait for the Vita version to be out now. The discount isn't as big as I hoped and there have been too many cancelled ports in the past.

PS+ Vote to Play is pretty terrible as it stands.

It relies more on your trailer than your actual game and the most vocal/complainy gamers don't know what they want so they vote for whatever appeals to them on a surface level (epic memes).

Big, bright, loud & fun.

Jumped into this for a quick dip just before finishing Firewatch and in both cases I'm reminded that in a lot of cases the best experiences this gen have been in the smaller titles.

Awesome game Paz & I hope bringing it to console rains sales down on Witchbeam!

Quick question, what does twisting actually do? I'm struggling on the first boss because I don't really see a way of dodging its attacks in the later stages of the fight since you move relatively slowly. Does it give you invincibility frames or something?

Yeah, you're invincible when switching weapons. You also get a lot of invincibility time if you pick up a shutdown.

There is brief invincibility through the start of the weapon swap, and when you grab shut down powerups. This is indicated through the white sheen that covers your character while the invulnerability lasts.

However you should still be able to dodge the attacks in Embryo's later phases, a lot of it comes down to reading the safe zones - Like in the phase where he moves towards you shooting in a massive bullet spray you're actually safer standing close inside the safe 'V' shaped area in front of him. You should also be able to power through by making good use of your secondary in the early levels/bosses even if your dodging skills are still being developed, just remember your best solution in AAC is always to do as much damage as quickly as you can :)

It will not, but there's plenty of value in there.

I don't think many games will offer a PSN code in their Indiebox, and it's also tricky to distribute PSN keys like that because they are region locked while the box is global.

We do an adaptive v-sync solution for when the game is under too much load to hold perfect 60 so there is tearing in the game, but it runs smooth the majority of the time.

Ah, ok. I think I'm starting to get the hang of dodging now - reached zone 4 and made it to layer 13 of infinity drive. The only thing I'm having issues with now is not seeing the attacks that kill me because there's lots happening on screen, but as I get more used to enemy patterns that should go away. This game really is very good; I adored it at EGX2014 and I adore it now!

Just picked it up for PS4! That discount is nice and apparently it's cross-buy? Sweet! Anyone know when the Vita version launches?

I've had my eyes on this for years and almost picked it up in Early Access a few times on Steam but finally got it now!

Happy for these guys. They post in the indie thread regularly. I thought the game was going to end up being something fun based on what they posted. Glad I was right.

Now I am waiting for Jobbs game. :)
