The Last Guardian confirmed for 2016 release

At the same time, why would they have brought it back last year if they were not (almost) completely sure? They could have just kept it in stasis longer until they were ready.

It could have been to just reassure people that it was still in development, or maybe just to announce that it was a PS4 game now, either way they still may have been unsure when they slapped that 2016 release date on it last year.

This is the same conference that announced the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, FFVII:R and the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter, so it wasn't exactly a conference themed around games of imminent release dates.

I'll believe it when I see it. Honestly, this game has been in development hell so goddam long it they should have been ready to ship within 6 months of the rereveal, max

Just so we're clear, everybody knows that at the end the boy's going to die and the dog-monster is going to turn into the demon from the end of SotC, right?

I'd be in the dick
Horizon should really be in the title. I've been seeing people doubting 2016 for that one since annoucement so that's likely the bigger surprise.
Now someone go ask him about Detroit and GT Sports :D
I don't think Detroit was ever announced for 2016.

GT Sport is Polyphony soooo...

They've been reassuring people for years. They wouldn't have to show it to continue doing that. I believe Shu said they were confident in it hitting the 2016 date and that was why they decided to announce it last year.

I'm not sure what that has to do with TLG's specific situation but sure.

clearly they re-revealed it early to satisfy us neogaf posters.
Clearly!

I thought it was always confirmed for 2016 since E3?

Release dates are often pushed back, and E3 was 9 months ago at this point, so it's very reassuring to get confirmation of the date, since we (intentionally per Sony) haven't seen much of the games in several months.

Too damn many big games I want this year. Starting a new and demanding job on the back half of the year too, so time's going to be tight. Fingers crossed for a few delays....

Re-confirmed. They said 2016 last E3 didn't they?
We've known this since June.
Didnt they confirm that at E3?
It was confirmed for 2016 since when it was reannounced.
Yeah, they said that 9 months ago.

Even if many cynical people were telling otherwise
Remember that game that was confirmed to be coming out in 2016? Well now it's coming out in 2016.
This isn't news.
You guys are adorable. If any game requires a double, or even a triple confirmation, it's this one. Come on.

And note that there is still not even an actual release date yet. I'll believe it when it's actually out. :p
