Just give me a 32X... I mean 4KX add-on
Maybe fans doesn't like the idea?
Its called spin, Sony has enough goodwill to deal with a bit of consumer backlash where as MS at this moment especially the XB division does not. I would not be surprised to see MS announce something right after or right before Sony. I do expect whatever MS announces to be more powerful than the PS4K if what Phil says is to be taken literally.
Easy:I personally don't see why Sony is potentially doing what they are doing. They are in a good place with absolutely no need to come out with an "updated model" with more horsepower. It could backfire heavily for them.
Wow. Good guy Phil.
Look Sony, if Microsoft aren't moving in this direction why should you?
I wish Sony shared the same sentiment. I don't like this iterative console model taking shape.
Good
Silly idea
Wait 2 more years and then blow the top off with a significantly more powerful console
Phil Spencer said:What I'm saying is that hardware innovations happen, we want to be able to embrace those in the console space and make those available and maybe not have to wait seven or eight years for that to happen. Ultimately, the great questions of our time will not be resolved by modular upgrades or incremental upgrades -- that was the great mistake of the Dreamcast and the Steam Machine -- but by iron and blood.
PS4k on the market for only 2 years...?
I believe we will see more hardware innovation in the console space than weve ever seen. Youll actually see us come out with new hardware capability during a generation allowing the same games to run backward and forward compatible because we have a Universal Windows Application running on top of the Universal Windows Platform that allows us to focus more and more on hardware innovation without invalidating the games that run on that platform
Im not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If were going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers. I dont know anything about any of the rumors that are out there, but I can understand other teams motivations to do that. For us, our box is doing well. It performs, its reliable, the servers are doing well. If were going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people an upgrade.
Xbox EightBut what are they going to do if Sony announce PS4K at E3? Xbox 10?

Xbox Four K?
Hang on - wasn't Phil Spencer/MS the first ones to admit they were looking into an incremental upgrade for the Xbox before even the PS4K rumors got out? What the heck is this backpedaling going on right now?!?
Would actually be pretty interesting if they came out with a cheaper model while Sony is going the other way.If I'm MS I'd come in with a cheaper model of the same system. Sony making a misstep. Time to hit hard. £199.99 would be a buy price on any console for me.
Co'mon Phil.
Sure why not? It's not a new console just a model. Sony won't wait if MS goes early.
From Xbone to Xfork. MS moving up in the world.
Mmm, by this they could possibly go all in with a 200 watts plus console (Vega big chip with HBM2).Then PS4K would be quite in the middle and a bad strategical move.Once again, Spencer has been enormously clear on this point:
Good
Silly idea
Wait 2 more years and then blow the top off with a significantly more powerful console
Xbox Two will be backwards compat. with XBone. They're not looking at an incremental upgrade as rumors and leaks might suggest, they're just going to call it a cycle by Holiday 2017, IMO, and introduce the new hardware that will be a serious step up with full backwards compatibility.
I thought PS4k was rumoured for early 2017? So early 2019 would be two years.2019-2016=3
