can't even finish the first Dead Drop delivery type mission because there's nowhere near enough time...IGN showed the same mission yesterday and it had 43 seconds to complete...in mine it had 42...IGN's destination was different and I haven't even gotten close to seeing the delivery point for mine

geeze...and that's with no messing up and keeping the speed up as fast as possible

The takedowns are canned but the hand to hand are done by button presses. The way the enemies move is really funky looking, like it physics based, but it's not.
 
What are peoples best times on Birdmans route? 34.22 and can only scrape off time little by little. No clue how the top person has 26.72

thanks. what is the combat like then, simple buttons combos or dpad as well? can you choose to throw for example

There's light and heavy attacks and you can modify them by pushing left, right or forward on the left stick. You can defeat the basic baton wielding enemies by bashing the light attack button but others you may have to dodge with the trigger to get behind them and whack 'em.

This beta is kinda fucked for me. It's taking forever to get to the title screen.

edit: this runs like proper shit on a 280X withe everything on just high. Not even remotely close to 60.

I'm not actually seeing much (or any) HDD activity. Even the EA/Dice logo is all laggy and shit.

And the game runs like ass anyway. I got an easy 60fps on Battlefront, and this looks much worse.

This is really disappointing.

Relax, I wasn't saying it look scrappy. I actually think it looks quite good, IQ being a weak point.

Game doesnt like GTX 760 and 8GB of RAM XD But gameplay is solid and it is not dumbed down in my opinion. You still need to find best route and be good and precise with button presses to achieve best time. Also by default 11 of 19 skills are unlocked.

This is really disappointing.

You haven't got DSR (if you use Nvidia) on have you? The game automatically chose the highest resolution on my system, which was 4K and was stuck at 10fps for a while until it gave me control.

Only think some people really are not gonna like the open world thing. And all that comes with open world games like missions etc. Also something like break a antenne and then get out of the searching circle on the mini map.

Also really curious how the game looks on final release with all the textures. Because now its a big blur but underneath you really see a nice looking game.

The beta runs pretty well on PS4.

I don't think it runs very well at all. I'm constantly noticing drops. If I had to guess I would say 40ish FPS. Definitely doesn't hold the 60FPS. Even though it's Frostbite I'm surprised it's not 30-locked considering it's open world.

Played a bit. I can't quite put my finger on it but the visuals feel like they've lost the ultra clean, easy to read look of the original game.

Well that seems like an easy answer, most of the screens in this thread look blurry as fuck, IQ doesn't seem good at all.

I'd be somewhat surprised by that, visuals seemed like the last thing they would fuck up. Let's wait for the final PC version though.

Playing on the PC and it's definitely not there. I think you're right about anti-aliasing, but also lens flare and other things like bloom and rain. Definitely reserving judgment for the final game of course, but I'm a bit bummed right now. The visual style and design of the original is still spectacular to this day.

Dat feeling when you realize this game has unskippable cutscenes, and you'd rather have the flash-trash of the first game over this shit anyway.

This game feels like shit. The controls feel slow, laggy and unresponsive, and not helped by a garbage framerate.

And this is just offensive. I can't deal with this. How can you lock such a basic and essential move? I'm quickly losing any interest I had in a Mirror's Edge sequel. Are the original developers even involved with this game? The tutorial was a really, REALLY awful thing to play through, treating us as if we're all idiots, and you can't disable the constant marker telling you where you need to go (no, not runner vision). It's really intrusive to me. I'd rather play ME1 again than this thing.
