I'm still mad about that. Main reason I have no care for Mankind Divided.
Do you mean not stealthy enough? We are talking about the same Human-sized ventilation shafts - The Game, right? If anything, they should tone the stealth down. Deus Ex lives from giving you choices, the first one even allowed to be very creative with a violent aggressive approach, but combat in Human Revolution felt very clunky in comparison to how effective stealth was. It does seem, however, that the team has understood this well and are going for a more balanced approach this time.
Personally, my only concern is that SE will fuck it up by undercutting their budget and by horrible, horrible marketing. I mean, bad marketing is a given, just how bad it will hurt the game is yet to be determined.

DOOM is going to be awful guys...

It's doomed.
I'm sorry.
No, I'm not.

Hmm?

I was under the impression that the BB and DS3 engine is an iteration of the DS1 engine and that the DS2 engine is an evolutionary dead end.
All Souls games and BB are probably iterations of same core tech, DkS3 being the latest in line. To me at least that makes the most logical sense.

Quite a few technical department/programmers worked on both BB and DkS2, seems reasonable that they were indeed working on the same base. I wouldn't be shocked if the pre-downgrade DkS2 renderer or some part of it is now powering BB and DkS3.

Yeah that's what I didn't like about it. The game was very heavily a stealth game. Such a big deal about being about choice, yet stealth was always the go to for the majority of objectives. Even going through the skill tree I never felt I could easily play it like an action game. I was better off upgrading stealth and running past things.

DOOM is going to be awful guys...

The SP footage doesn't seem too bad, finisher state glows aside, which I sincerely hope can be disabled. I lost interest in the MP when it became clear that "arena shooter" wouldn't be an accurate description.

The "scares" in FEAR aren't designed to kill you,
but there might be some exceptions
.

Mainly you're going to be up against innumerable squads of elite soldiers in some of the best shooting action the genre has to offer.

I did find enemy variety an issue though. Most of the time you're fighting the usual generic soldiers.

even if the SP is merely OK I'm worried because 80% of the marketing of the game has been about multiplayer and they even made a $40 season pass for multiplayer...

and the MP isn't even that good

Yeah they seem to be banking hard on MP. I didn't mind it, but it's not something I can see sticking with very long.

hmmmm, the X1 elite cable seems, bendable.like it's made from bendable metal from the inside.
i don't think this is a good idea.
also when i attach the cable get to the controller,it will become very hard to remove it.

but holy shit those paddlin,i think i am going to use them instead of those horrible RB and LB.

I could never get my gf's Win 8 machine to recognize my X1 controller either. But at this point you should just upgrade to Win 10, there's really no good reason not to.

DOOM is going to be awful guys...

I mean, people thought Wolfestein TNO would be awful as well, and it ended up being pretty neat, so maybe there's still hope?
I know i'm making a huge stretch here and it doesn't even make sense pls don't hurt me

I have an interesting problem with mirrors edge. The game won't save, or it can't find my saves. I had a file a while back that was gone the other day, started a new game, then that file doesn't show either.

Only options I get now are pick a chapter or new game? Any ideas? I do have 2 drives, an ssd and a hard drive.

I had something similar with Tomb Raider a long time ago and I think it's because I screwed up symbolic links or something using Game Save Manager.

Otherwise, not sure :(

It's okay - Romero and Carmack (not that one, the other one) are going to save the day with their own FPS. The current little teases suggest a "dark and violent" FPS, so maybe, just maybe, we may get another Sim City vs Cities Skylines situation where a smaller company does what everyone wanted in the first place

This month's early unlock title for Humble Monthly subscribers is Mad Max. Get a taste of next month's bundle with this multiplayer hardcore survival FPS, and then when May 6th comes around, you'll get even more games!
The way the sentence is structured it seems to all be relating to Mad Max, but "multiplayer hardcore survival FPS" pops google as Hurtworld. Any other guesses? Hurtworld looks to have 3rd person camera too - same deal with Day Z. Rust is 1st person only. ???

DS3 completed ;)

22 hours it took, so I know there must be quite a bit of optional stuff I've missed.
Not gonna lie, had to summon for a couple of the harder bosses, but outside of those few at the end, it was an overall easier experience.

But then again it is my 5th souls game now, for me it needs a bit of a rest. It's formulaic now, it's a hell of a formula but still.
i have no idea how you people are finishing it on 22 hours

because people play souls in vastly different ways?
Some people get stuck on a boss for 4hr, some consider getting stuck anywhere in ds3 for more than 15m to be 'get gud scrub' levels.

Theres other factors too obviously, but yeah.
I beat the game in 25, did everything in 27, and that was with some pvp and stuff.

This is best eventual outcome, yes.

i'm just surprised, feels way too quick for the amount of content in the game

CDPR overhauling dev tools before starting work on Cyberpunk 2077
“To be honest, the politically correct answer is yes, it is sad [to finish Geralt’s story]. But the truth is that everyone is so insanely pumped about working on the next project, Cyberpunk 2077 ,” said Jose Teixeira, a visual effects artist for CD Projekt RED. “We’ve could’ve made a million expansions for The Witcher because there’s so many stories in that world but everyone is crazy excited about Cyberpunk 2077.”

“The most important thing that’s happening at the moment is that the programmers are taking the feedback we gave them from working on The Witcher . As cliche as it sounds it was a big learning experience,” he said, explaining that by the end of the development everyone had a list of features they wanted for new dev tools. “The programmers are updating our software quite drastically.”

This includes a brand new visual effects editor, which Teixeira is very excited about. He admits that he’s got a little more enthusiasm for the upcoming project than he did for The Witcher 3 . For him, Cyberpunk 2077 represents a chance to explore a genre he finds more interesting.

“I immensely appreciate medieval fantasy games,” he said. “ But I don’t know what it is about Cyberpunk 2077 but it just clicks. There’s something about this game that just clicks with me and I’m really happy to be working on it.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for release sometime in the next four years , so don’t hold your breath for any big announcements in the near future.

That game was announced three years ago. And they haven't even started yet? What the fuck was the point of that announcement then?

They would have started prelim work, but probably not anything really indepth until W3 shipped. This makes some sense

ehh, there actually isn't that much, once you remember souls content is very dense

if you don't die a lot, it's only a few walks through each area.
sigh, it's like impossible to talk about these games without getting a backhanded git gud isn't it

i've beaten most bosses on my second or third try and the most i've been stuck is like maybe an hour on like the abyss watchers or the deacons or whatever. the only area that gave me real trouble was irithyll dungeon cos that area is kind of bullshit

it's not that i'm bad (that's beside the point), it's people don't take as much time as i do to stare at things and revisit and coop and conjecture. but i still find it very surprising that it's 22hrs versus like 50, that makes me believe people might be skipping stuff

Well, it's not really meant to be backhanded. Dying in Souls vs not dying can drastically alter your playtime.

Like when I was in junior high (early high school? dunno) I got stuck hard on False King Allant, that took 5hr. Entire playthrough of Demon Souls was ~30 hours, but that was entire sixth of it, just redoing everything so I could stand a chance against him. That's why I say it's not backhanded, I fully mean it.

As for skipping areas- I'm sure people do it accidentally. I went back to smoldering lake (hence 27hr instead of 25) and realized I completely missed the large part of the area. I thought I had so I went back and checked, and sure enough, I had :p

But yeah, theres also that major aspect. Some people do no pvp, others stand around as sunbros for 50hr. The "I beat <Souls game> in <hours>" only really applies for a showoff comparison with others if neither of you did online or if you both play similarly, which is never the case. I know some people who daze off into scenery for a ridiculous amount of their playthroughs, I don't get it. However, it completely makes sense as to why their playtimes are longer.

I really think the 25hr gap comes from that sort of thing. That, or perhaps certain playstyles are actually slower, since none of the above actually accounts for a 25hr gap except for someone hitting a wall a few times adding a good 10 hours or such.
Like the 'hardest boss' that plenty get stuck on for anywhere from 2hr to 2 days, if you do that in 30m, you've basically shaved off an entire portion on your game clock compared to others.

*Time in souls doesn't really matter, play to have fun, etc, zz

It seems silly to me to talk about the amount of content in a Dark Souls game at all, since so much of the game design is based around repeating that content. Not to mention the people that play them over and over again. It's not like it's a "play 50 hours to complete all sidequests" type of game, it's a game that you play for as long as you enjoy. It's the pinball of RPGs.
