Why did ND even delay it in the first place? April 26 was the release date for a long time. Clearly retailers have it, and it went gold in late March... I don't understand

Day 1 patch? Marketing plans? fitting it around their other releases so they don't all come at once? a mixture of all 3?

Wooo.

Ordered it from Amazon way back in November (39$ !).

Don't worry guys, I won't spoil anything for you !

(Right. Apparently, my copy is scheduled to dipatch on may 5th, which is still earlier than street date but eh)

Damn, I preordered the game as soon as it went live on Amazon, even informed people in the preorder thread on here, and my expected ship date is the 16th of May. Wtf.

Orlando, Florida (USA) here. My preorder from January 2015 is scheduled for delivery today, though there is no tracking information yet.

We have an Amazon warehouse an hour away and get same-day shipping on some items. Will report back if I see a tracking number or delivery confirmation.

haha yeah that doesn't seem too good. hopefully the date gets adjusted for you.

Time to unplug the modem for two weeks.

Sony won't brick your PS4 if you get it early, I got my copy of The Uncharted trilogy for PS4 six days ahead of release and I played it signed into PSN.

I also got Batman Arkham Knight 3 days early was signed into PSN the whole time, nothing happened.

Maybe next time Sony will learn that when a game is finished more than a month before release you fucking launch it, not delay it.

I hate it that I'm stuck with my digital pre order (can't get a refund on it) while people are already playing it, now I'll have to wait 2 weeks? the least they can do is release it early.

Guess I need to stop visiting all gaming related pages for the next two weeks...damn.

I find release dates fucking stupid, let stores sell it as soon as they get it in stock.

So assholes can start placing spoilers all over the internet and ruin the game for many people? I would not if someone on here has alt account saved just for that purpose.

Just sent a message to an ebay seller who has April 29th as shipping date, saying that the actual shipping will take place on May 6th

It still doesn't make sense. Uncharted isn't a game you move for other games, especially after all the delays it already had. It's one of their biggest franchises.

You move it to save the other games. R&C probably doesn't sell as well if Uncharted wasn't pushed back.

I would say they're just preparing orders early so they're all ready to send for release day... but two weeks ahead seems very early to be doing that so I guess we'll find out if people get copies soon.

Why not push Ratchet and Clank back a few months instead, as opposed to a game that has already been delayed a couple of times? June/July looks barren. It's hard to have sympathy for ND/Sony when they delay things for stupid reasons.

Yea it is, you move to maximize hype and sales, who is going to release a game immediately after or before a souls games? Why compete with hype that sony wants to benefit from in the future?

They've done this before - dispatched when they get them - but it's happened to me when they've been sending it via prime or another non-standard-mail shipping option, and the delivery company holds them until delivery day. That's what they do with console launches etc. Suspect that'll be the same here.

Probably because they wanted to time Ratchet's release with the new movie (having it come out a few weeks before the film). If it came out in June/July it would miss out on capitalising on the hype for the movie.

That happened to me with The Last of Us. I got it almost 2 weeks earlier. They even showed the launch trailer at E3. My friends and I was laughing at it because we've already beaten the game by then. Amazon fucks up a lot.

Proof:

They also shipped me MGSV few days earlier:

Thank you, Amazon!
but fuck you for not fucking up my UC4 order

Fucking hell. Are you telling me I have to stay off YouTube (my main entertainment source) for 2-3 weeks because there's a chance spoilers can pop-up?

Ah well, I'm watching LOST for the first time on Netflix so that'll keep me occupied for a bit.

You seem to completely ignore things like the cost of logistics and manpower required to bring a game out two weeks earlier than scheduled. Yes, it's possible - but likely at greater cost to Sony, so why would they bother? Also consider things such as paid advertising slots across various media (print, billboards, promo events, television/cinema spots) to boost brand awareness upon release... should Sony just ignore all of that to appease people who are whining they don't have a game two weeks prior to it's planned (albeit delayed) release? 4ThePlayers, indeed...

2 weeks if you want to stay safe from spoilers.
