In all seriousness if all this preparation and delays for great software launch amount to Remasters of Splatoon, Smash, and zelda they are in for a world of hurt.

Even if they dont launch with something like dragon quest, they need to have a blowout of upcoming games in the future and blow peoples minds.

I open their website http://e3.nintendo.com/ but nothing happens???? Only that blue emblem blinks but nothing else appears.

Weird, working for me. First time I've heard the sound effects in this game, it sounds fantastic, the horse, the birds, the wind rustling the grass.

Pikmin 4 for one was supposedly close to completion in July 2015 as this September article states.

"hey Nintendo's in a transitional period right now and when NX is revealed and the games are anounced, it's gonna be fine".

People keep saying this "transitional period" crap from what... 2009? I know because i was one of the one saying this because at the time i believed too, now in 2016 everyone should understand that it's pure bullshit and really should not give this bad company for the sixth consecutive year a freebie on not being able to put their shit together in terms of software/hardware release schedule.

Quality, not quanity, is the philosophy in my book. I think people are just acting kind of selfish at this point, as long as all the big guns show off some cool shit, then it's all good to me. I'm not really bothered if Nintendo shows of one game & one game only, as there is other cool stuff coming out in the months ahead.
Are you for real? Last year's showing was completely criticized for its lack of quality (not sure if quantity), plus it's E3 week, you can't fault people for expecting at least a few games to be shown by one company as big as Nintendo. Unless Zelda was a competitive game like Smash, I don't think it can carry the whole thing for the week.

Yep, it's always the same thing over and over. After the NX launches with a weak lineup, Nintendo will come out and apologize for lack of software and say they want to ensure it doesn't happen again just like with the last 5 or 6 pieces of game hardware they released.

I just discovered that is my shitty PC that can't handle the website. Damn haha. Need to upgrade!

Between 5 and 6 at this point. I'm sure the game is going to blown everyones mind. Now I'm just worried about that Mother 3 rumor... what if it ends up being fake since Nintendo will not talk about anything else except Zelda? : /

Two!

  1. Paper Mario: Color Splash
  2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE

Actually, 2-3:

  1. Paper Mario: Color Splash
  2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (outside Japan)
  3. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

And maybe

  1. Western release of Mother 3 (already out on Wii U in Japan)

They have even less left on Wii U for Japan than the West, and there's no guarantee they won't move the new Paper Mario to NX only like they moved Super Paper Mario.

As -Horizon- said they have a bunch of games that can be shown though, just on 3DS.

Still at denial.

They have a bunch of games that CAN be shown. Its bonkers that they won't show ANYTHING at all? Like really? It's just hard to believe.

As many of you probably know by now, I hit "anger" and just stay angry until the game comes out... and then when it disappoints, I continue to be angry :p

I don't know. I'm getting the same pre-release vibes for NX that I got with Wii U. I hope they prove me wrong, but... eh.

Why don't you reply to my reply of your post ?

In my perfectly reasonable explanation I gave a strong argument for why the possibility of NX having a steady stream of quality games should be taken seriously, yet you maintain this "Nintendo doesn't have a clue" attitude and ignore what I said. Why?

Wii U did that for them.

These E3 2016 shenanigans from Nintendo are a complete reversal of the clusterfuck that was the drawn out, aimless, and broken messaging for WiiU.

First the company talks too much in Los Angeles, then it doesn't talk at all. Overcorrection to the extreme.

Nintendo's 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders is scheduled to be held on June 29, 2016.

Don't do this again. Last time when you did this didn't turn out that nice.

I don't know what to think. They could delay the Wii U version to push people to buy NX to play it faster. Especially if there is no other clear benefit of the NX version (Nintendo doesn't really brag about the resolution of the games, so 1080p compared to 720p might not be on their marketing list).

Yeah, you brought up a good point. Exactly what can Nintendo do to entice people with picking up the NX version of the game, outside of it possibly being released with the system next March?

Given how expensive video games are, especially in Canada, I'm mostly focused on the ones that not only value my time but also value the price they are going for. (Unless if I can get a discount or get them for cheap, but that's a completely different discussion altogether.) But I agree with what you've said, as Nintendo's last E3 was incredibly uneven with what they have showcased.

The bolded is ridiculous, the PS4 has outstanding third party support with weekly releases. Nintendo has like one game coming out for the Wii U for the rest of 2016.

And I agree, it's been great with both the indy scene & what third party developers have been doing with the system. But there is also the fact that Sony have showcased a lot of first party games that don't exactly have a concrete release date, and that troubles me. Final Fantasy XV had gone through how many revisions before it came out in it's current state?

But, again, I'm personally not all that bothered. Good shit will be coming out, and as long as that happens, it's all gravy to me. Everyone get's to have some fun with the stuff they are looking forward to, you know?

I'm going off of history. Anything could happen in the future, but speculating today on anything other than what we've learned from the past is a mistake. Nothing they've done so far shows a change in the way they conduct business.

Stage 4 since the no NX this year news, everything since then has just pushed me further down that well. I don't get what they're doing. It's like they're just skipping a full year.

Let's say they do have a steady stream of games that will be available for the March launch of the NX and the rest of the year. What good explanation is there to explain why they wouldn't reveal new games and talk about already announced/hinted at games to generate hype and buzz for a console releasing less than a year away, especially at the biggest gaming convention? I certainly can't think of anything that doesn't reflect negatively towards Nintendo or that isn't worrisome.

That doesn't mean the NX will fail. That doesn't mean Nintendo and the NX won't get coverage at E3 and other trade shows. That doesn't mean when the NX is officially revealed it will go by unnoticed. But I don't see how Nintendo only having Zelda as a playable game at E3, not doing a press conference or even a direct is in any way a positive sign. Quite the opposite.

They pretty much handed the public mindshare over to Sony and Microsoft.

With NX already said to be in 2017 and no news about it at E3, nintendo would've gotten no mind share regardless of what remaining Wii U and 3DS titles they would have shown. I would've LOVED if they showed some kind of direct, but you gotta be delusional thinking that they could've attracted any major attention with a regular direct compared to the ps4k, xb1.5, ps vr, etc being shown.
