Rowlett is definitely the best design but I think I'm going to go for Poplio because I've gone for the grass type for the past two gens and got burned (pun intended) and I REALLY don't like Litten's design.

Here's hoping we FINALLY get an Electric/Fighting type this Gen, still can't believe the missed opportunity in Electivire.

And a Steel/Poison type too!

What ? The characters having a full body is a major difference and enhancement. Overworld seems to have a bit more depth too. In battles you now have the trainers too. All of this knowing that the 3DS is kind of at its maximum.

And even ORAS had differences and enhancements. More subtle, but they were here.

X/Y will age horribly. First Pokémon game to age really bad.

Ehh okay, I see it

The new female protag's hat is killing me., Dafuq is that abomination?

We're never gonna get a Dark/Ice wolf, are we?

Whenever the region is based on Germany, maybe

Good catch on the meowth. What I loved about X&Y was the vast amount of Pokemon available in the wild.

Looks to be the same with Sun & Moon. I don't mind having a small roster of New Mon again if it means they are super focused and actually competitively legitimate.

I wouldn't mind more evos also.

Arguing that Charizard isn't a dragon is like arguing Rathalos from Monster Hunter isn't a dragon. Yes, in-universe they don't fit into the specific dragon category but out-of-universe it's hard to argue the giant flying reptile that spits fireballs is not designed as a traditional dragon.

(and yeah, Charizard is lizard-themed too, but come the fuck on if you think it was designed to resemble any actual living lizard. It's lizard-themed because it evolves from lizards into a stereotypical dragon.)

It imparted the wrong knowledge into a lot of kids by making them think rock was immune to electric.

That's a hefty assumption. You can catch your own Geodude in the next route over. Kids are not idiots. Do we forget how we learned as children, we experimented and figured it out.

Trash tier swimming? A species that can cruise at 10 mph? Where the males migrate over 3000 miles annually? Where they can cooperatively cordon and catch fish w/ the greatest of ease? I can't.... I just.... *EXPLODES*
Oh no, you misunderstand me. I'm not saying it's bad at swimming, I'm just saying its a worse animal than all of the other animals that can swim. Whales are cool, sea lions are not cool.

It's also not notably intelligent, despite the fact that you seem to want to believe it is. It's like saying cows are one of the most intelligent animals out there because they can feel emotions. Yeahhhh okay.

Hopefully the game runs a lot smoother on a n3DS. I wonder if there will be any exclusive features to that platform.

Do we have any idea if Pokémon can follow you like in HG/SS? It doesn't look like it...

Oh geez dude, and slime molds can do complex computing. I'm not impressed, calling it one of the most intelligent animals is laughable, unless you mean it's in like the top 100 or something. It's a trash tier swimming mammal to boot. I'm not surprised nobody wants to study them. I sure wouldn't want to.

I'll take Rufflet, thank you.

So you can't refute his post and double down on your absurdity? Well done.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
I'm baffled at people saying this looks anything like XYORAS outside of the general style.
So I'm! The first thing I noticed is that characters no longer look semi chibi which makes me so glad.

Left one has more charm tho. They jumped the Call of Duty shark with the realistic graphics on the right
"Too much like Call of Duty, 7.8/10"

So you can't refute his post and double down on your absurdity? Well done.
What do you mean? I absolutely refuted that post. All animals have things that make them special, being able to keep a beat doesn't mean the sea lion is suddenly higher than B tier intelligence at best. Do you want me to list every other animal and make an evidence based tier list just so I can tell one guy that his favorite animal is a bad animal?

I'll agree that it's quite noble though. The way it swims? The way it has "lion" in its name? So noble.

I've picked the water starter for 20 years, so Popplio it is. Rowlet is my favorite design so far though. When he turns his head in battle to look at the trainer, so good.

But Rathalos really isn't a dragon. It's a wyvern. Dragons, excluding eastern dragons which y'know, are like say Rayquaza, have four legs and their wings are independent. Wyverns have two back legs and their wings, often doubling as arms/legs.

Skyrim's dragons are also really wyverns =p

Edit: Note, Charizard does fit the criteria of a dragon in this scenario.

Honestly, it still fucks me up to this day.

I'm playing White now and I'm still confused as hell when an electric attack damages my Rock Mon

So, the main character just recently moved to this Alola region. They're capable of trainer customization. The globe in their room shows Africa and Europe.

#KalosConfirmed

Just kidding. I'd love for a return to Kalos in postgame, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

More seriously, I love all those starters. The owl turns its head. The cats fur stands up on end when attacking. The seal is just plain adorable. Looking forward to more information about these games.

I mean, the character proportions are different and it looks like there's less focus on a grid-based world design.

I swear, I don't know how Game Freak managed to actually publish X/Y with Lumiose City having the design that it does.

It's still so disorienting to try and navigate that city. The layout is confusing, and the dynamic camera angles are downright awful. When moving forward in the outer ring, the camera is way too low, and too hyper sensitive when you try and turn. Enter another area, and the camera changes to move in front of the character, meaning if you move forward, the character is moving towards the game screen instead of away from it.

From this trailer, it seems the non top-down perspectives have been greatly improved, but I'm still a bit skeptical.

i've more than warmed up to this. This is the first time I've felt this positively about a pokemon game since gen 3. Looks incredible plain and simple.

Gonna throw my hat to Rowlet. Litten also looks nice but I feel the former will have a more creative evolution path.

Like it or not Wyverns are dragons now :p

The textures and colours especially look very similar to ORAS, so if you were kind of squinting you could make the mistake. Maybe a lot of people need glasses?

The hair on Litten's back stands on end and glows when it spits fire, which is a nice touch.

Alright, while you're still demonstrably wrong in your assignations of coolness (whales, lol, the cows of the ocean), at least with this you show you're existing in this, and not some parallel, universe.

Still, perhaps better to be without sense than to so abuse it as you do :'-(

It took me years to figure that out, and I'm a certified not-idiot.

I think I have to stop, I'm starting to get myself worked up. I'm just imagining someone staring at sea lions all day saying the words "proud" and "noble" over and over again. Oh man. "Demonstrably" and "perhaps" too, you're doing this on purpose.

Well, I'm glad somebody out there thinks sea lions are cool.

I don't understand why the games don't just offer full character customization from the beginning?

What is "full" ? Like making your Sims or ElderFalloutScrolls character ?

I don't know if it would work well. It could end up like Xenoblade. I prefer them doing two great character designs, including clothes, then having trouble building from scratch a customization engine. Hell, they don't even know how to design a good set of clothes for each character.
