Kay Plays |OT|

Ya'know Kay, you really are the Batman of Dark Souls.

Definitely lookin forward to witnessing her observations on DS3. Gonna be awesome.

And PS - she's the inspiration for me to push through the original Dark Souls when I was still learnin the game and still havin a hard time with the combat. Seeing her made me believe that I can survive the game. Now I've continued onto DS2, DeS, BB, and DS3. Kay's awesome.

I hope she decides to read in-game messages this time. It's part of the Dark Soul experience imo.
If you're playing online for a blind playthrough they're highly spoilery. Messages are one of the reasons I play offline for my first playthrough. I see from this episode Kay is online though.

They're fun, and part of the experience.
It's a bit like like watching a movie with other people, it may not be as sacred an experience as watching it alone, but there's charm to sharing the experience with others.
Even seeing an "I DID IT!" after a tough boss, is cool.
Or a "Revenge!" where a previously inaccessible sniper was.

Also, you can rate them and have yours rated back, giving you random HP refills, every once in a while.

For what I played of BB and DS3, I'd say that her playing DS3 before BB is the best case scenario. She will go full thief on DS3 and she will prepare herself to become a sidestep hyper roller for her following BB playthrough.
Super happy she's back, I hope we may hear some insight on the primaries. I'm european and that stuff fascinates me.

So bittersweet. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose. Still I hope she does LP it one day. I think it would be fascinating to watch her uncover the mysteries of Yharnam.

I really don't know how/if she'd make it through BB. All signs point to her really not enjoying creepy/scary games, even the (Life is Strange spoilers)
freaky dream/memory sequence in episode 4(?) had her spooked dootier than a catacomb skeleton.

Yeah, I totally get it and join in too. I just don't want it on MY first playthrough.

The way Kay got in to the lore of DS1 though makes me think the lore and story of BB would really appeal to her.

^^^BB is more consistently scary in tone, but as far as highs go, i think Tower of Latria (which she already conquered) is still the scariest place From has put out.
I was actually a bit disappointed by how tame BB was on the horror element, all things considered.

I get what you mean.
Personally i like them in my first playthrough, because in my first run, is also when i can best relate to those messages of relief and surprise.
Usually in my second run, i just blaze through.

Same thing for me. I shelved DS1 because I was utterly lost in what I was supposed to do and I couldn't handle the combat. I started watching her LP and her approach to the game and it really opened my eyes to what these games were all about. I have now played and finished all of them except DS3. (waiting on GPU upgrade) They are now among my favorite game series and I credit her as THE reason I gave it another chance.

This is what I think too. It's not really scarier than what's in the Souls games (including Demons). It is more relentless however...

Yay. I've had a great time with the game and look forward to seeing a different perspective. The first plot line. Will those souls from the CL make it to the area where they become useful. I'm betting, yes.

I watched the video in the OP where she finds the truth about Anor Londo in DS1. That was pretty cool. I've already been watching ENB's blind playthrough so I don't think I could sit through another, especially one that is even more meticulous, so I will skip this playthrough and wait to see if any special moments crop up and watch those bits.

Ep2: Damn at beast mode Kay during
the second phase of Gundyr. She needed not to get hit even once and she pulled it off on her first attempt against that form.
damn impressive

That item she overlooked in Ep.2 at the end of that down-sloping path... please don't tell me that was
the binoculars
. :(

It's been a while since I was at the very beginning, but for some reason I remember getting that item very early on. Even if it isn't, I'm sure she'll notice it when she rewatches the video and (hopefully) go back for it. :p

Binoculars are above the first dead dragon you come across in High Wall.

I think it was just some random drop

I believe Kay;s missed item was just 5 Firebombs. Nothing much to worry about going foward. It actually would have made the Gundyr fight less epic!

Kay seemed to be having more fun in episode 5 than previous episodes. Getting used to a game, and relearning how to talk over games whilst playing is more important than I thought.
