Kay Plays |OT|

As much as I have been enjoying the PC games so far, I hope she does get the chance to play it one day, it's a cool game. Also agree on The Witness, especially since she liked Fez.

PS4 is in a public area and she can't dedicate long unbroken sessions to it like she wants.

Also boyfriend is a Destiny freak.

Basically she needs a personal PS4.

That feels like an excuse tbh. I imagine it can't be hard for her to move it for her gaming session temporarily. The SO should understand...?

She technically didn't like Fez, and she never finished it.

I apologize in advance for this shoddy performance. I was up way, way too early. This is what happens when my brain is still in bed.

You don't know her living situation. It's neither productive nor appropriate to make assumptions since neither are going to get her to play the game any faster.

Besides, what would she gain from "making excuses"? She has never once suggested nor even hinted that she wants a personal PS4. It's her fans that have put the idea out there.

She's making these videos for fun and she isn't even attempting to grow her viewer base.

I bought Valkyria Chronicles on sale because of this series. Not my usual type of game but I love the mix of real time and turn based. Same thing I love about Total War.

landmines are Kay's new worst enemy.

edit: spoilers for episode 14
legit shook a character actually died died. RIP Lynn

Kay's channel is not monetized, she doesn't promote, ask for likes or subs, and runs the entire thing for her own fun. People shouldn't be so pushy about what she "needs" to play or do. Suggest away, and let her know of things you think would be great for her channel, but nagging for the same thing over and over is likely only hurting your cause.

I can't imagine an LP of The Witness would be much fun, unless you edit out all the times when you get stuck.

The way Kay talks through her thoughts should help a lot.

I'm nearly done with her dark souls series - what's good to watch next?

I think her playthroughs of Gone Home and Life Is Strange are the best videos she has done outside of Dark Souls 1.

Exactly :).

If you enjoy Kay's detective skills, Gone Home. Beyond that, pretty much all of her series are great aside from a lot of struggling with the controls in Shadow of the Colossus and Kay being too smart for the "puzzles" in Tomb Raider reboot.

I like that she decided to make the death stick and not start over since it gives it more weight. I did the same thing while I was playing...
except that one time my Vyse died and I immediately restarted the mission without hesitation.

Episode 15 - I remember doing this one a few times. It isn't super difficult, just...different with having to keep pace with the car. I remember my Rosie was a lifesaver and took on multiples enemies in the streets.

I'm subscribing just in case she starts The Witness. That game with her deduction skills would be so good.

I feel like it's inevitable. She probably gets a billion messages about it, and she's already played (and marginally seemed to enjoy) Antichamber and Fez. The best part is that whether she likes it or not, it'll be really interesting to watch her work through it.

I'm relatively new to this channel and I'm enjoying the hell out of her Valkyria playthrough.

Anyone know the odds on her finishing the game? I feel like I've seen more than a few that just sort of fizzle out due to the game's length.

I don't think she's said either way but I'd be really surprised if she doesn't finish it, she seems to be digging it and she's stuck out the Souls games to completion.

Ok, cool. Well, I hope she sticks with it. I've been following along in my own game, seeing if I can win with the positioning and units she's using (of course all my units are from my clear save and have really over-powered weaponry because I'm a huge coward).

Kay has never quit a game she actually likes. She quit Fez because she didn't like the platforming. She's finished every other game. No worries.

I hate to bump this with no new content to post, but I've just finished her Life is Strange playthrough and had to comment on it. Poor cinnamon roll :(

It was rough listening to her get through the start of episode III (game episode, not YT episode) with
Chloe & the decision to euthanize her
and the final episode. I think watching her play the game and listening to her talk herself through those decisions made me appreciate the story way more than I did when I played through it (and I really enjoyed it when I played it).

The way she went from being quite dismissive of Chloe in episode 1 & 2 to really thinking about how that final decision would impact her in episode 5 was really wonderful though. Hearing someone voice those thoughts out loud made all the difference.

A sequel to the game that is nothing but Max & Kate going on various tea-party dates would be worth it for Kay's commentary alone. Please Dontnod, PLEASE.

It did make me laugh to think that she mastered a game like Dark Souls with its complete lack of instruction and yet never truly got the hand of the Rewind powers despite numerous onscreen prompts and even cues from Max. You can hear her Detective Kay brain ticking away on a solution that's 10 times more complicated than the problem at hand.

Also, Kay really doesn't like spooky things, huh? She was about ready to walk away from LiS when things started to get weird in episode 5. I'm a bit worried that if we ever get a Bloodborne playthrough she won't be able to stick it out.

So yeah, I'm very sorry for the bump but I had to comment on that playthrough since I missed it live.

Stay awesome, Kay.

I think Kay is very involved in volunteer work for the presidential election coming up. We may not hear from her again until the primaries are over.

This is just speculation since she's mentioned before that she's been phone banking.

Does she even have a PS4 yet? If not, I'd be more than willing to put some money towards a fund to buy her one and a copy of the game.

Anyway, I'm currently at part 82 of her DS play through, and it's making me realise just how terrible I am at these games. She's a damn natural.

I'm pretty sure her boyfriend has one

iirc, she doesn't like recording on consoles or something.

IIRC the PS4 is in their 'front' room attached to the TV, so if she wants to record she basically has to take over the TV. Their PC is away in a different room so she can record without inconveniencing him.

Unrelated but I just watched the first few episodes of her Dark Souls 1 playthrough again and her voice is so different. I think someone said a while back that she mentioned adjusting/editing it for later videos?
