Any evidence of concessions to motorsport yet (flags, pitstops, fuel strategy, practise, qualifying etc)? I believe this was all hinted at beforehand.

Standing starts are a good, erm... start, but hopefully the motorsport 'focus' doesn't end there.

nahh.. this is a GT sports thread. Just popped in to see what was up.. and noticed his posts.



you are right about the physics and the sounds. But I am getting old (41), so the sounds are not that important to me.. ;o)

I wouldn't listen to his arguments. Liking another game shouldn't be an excuse to nullify someone's arguments just like that.

But yes, sound isn't everyone's thing but it's important to me. I went back and played GTR2 the other day and was amazed at how a game from 2006 is still beating most stuff today. I can't explain it properly but good loud sound makes it feel much more "intense". Honestly if PD have picked up the slack in that area and prove it, I'll be there day 1. My PS4 is just a Driveclub and "hopeful for GT" machine, I've been waiting ages for a new GT.

This is more focused on Motorsport. You don't need shit like a Honda Fit in a game like this.

For me the slow and old and very japanese cars are the main reasons why I boot up GT6, I have a shit-ton of other sims I can drive GT3 cars in.

If it's focused on motorsport, I want at least stuff like a Prius GT300, Hyundai Click Type-R or similarly weird things.

Assuming the lowest tier car in GT Sport is a MX5, no car would be reaching red line in 4th gear at 115km/h

Yes. I'm hoping the "Sports" in GTS isn't just a fancy name and the motorsport focus is heavily presented and accessible to anyone if they don't want Arcade Mode. I hope thats what "Sports Mode" is i.e. you have Seasons and Championships. You have Time Trials that act as Qualifiers for these races, and it should decide your standing. Think Formula One.

GT6 already has championship points and (I think) pit crews doesn't it? If they're starting to focus on Motorsport then they've already got Forza best in the authenticity department.

As GTS is in association with the FIA, its most likely only real world tracks.

So I doubt there are any reverse layouts

It'll be a part of everything I'd imagine. In GT6 the only way to avoid championships was to play arcade mode, and I don't think there was a way to disable pit crews short of just never pitting.

Weirdly enough I like the American muscle cars in GT6 the most probably. I just like how they feel with a wheel compared to other games. Very fun.

Hope that driving licence thing means we might have a rankings system that can help sort out proper online leagues so you're not driving against idiots that crash you off the road! Would be exquisite. Real competitive racing against folk able to do similar times to you, whatever level you're at, would be dynamite.

Same, I used to play Tokyo Xtrem Racer so much on Dreamcast, some years ago Blur gave me some nice old school feelings with the 2 japanese tracks, btw the Mount Haruna one was EXCELLENT. I hope I'll feel the same with this GT.

There has to be some limit there as I can't imagine you're going to be able to jam 100+ cars into a specific location.
