Yes.

Yes, indeed.

Unfortunately, Mystical Ninja is owned by Konami so it's fucked. RIP, you brave and noble beast.
Am I a sucker for wanting to buy Overwatch after not actually liking the beta that much? I just need something to play.

Probably, yes. The beta was the full game.

It should be quite unlike anything else, since TF2 has been dragging in the F2P gutter for years now. But if you don't like it that won't suddenly make it more enjoyable.

To be clear I didn't play the last open beta that was the full game so I have no idea how the final game actually is.

Oh, didn't realise.

I never played the other betas, but I still believe it wouldn't change much, unless the thing holding you back was content/balance-related rather than gameplay-related.

I'm about to do the same with Persona 4, will finally play that one.

It emulates really well, especially if you can find a pre-made performance profile for your CPU. Also, if you already know the story, save-states are amazing for a game like that, allowing you try different things.

Society wasn't ready for something so beautiful. We all failed Goemon.

Go for it. I replayed the game last year (P4G on a cheaply bought PSTV) and it's still fantastic.

I'm actually playing through Super Mario 3D World for the first time now but only because it hit $20.

Man what a great game that is. Hope you have a great time doing it. I remember that game as a pure delight the whole way though. Except the final bonus level which broke my roommate and I and made me question my ability to execute simple tasks. Playing that thing Co-Op is a nightmare.

Yeah I've been doing the whole thing co-op so far (only at World 4). Definitely enjoying it, but the co-op camera kind of sucks sometimes. It's hard to see where you are when the camera is pulled so far back, especially when you have the do some platforming.

So, like, was that dude at the end of the AltspaceVR section of the VRodeo an actual dev or just someone who thought he was being helpful? He seemed to know who Jeff was, and I don't think he realized how off-putting he came off.

Edit: Reading the comments for the video it sounds like devs are usually in Altspace and do that sort of pitch to everyone. Weird.

it's weird, I've been kind of faced with the decision of "I want to play some of the wii games I bought but never really played" but I don't have a working wii. Dolphin's cool I guess but you have to jump through a lot of hoops to play games legitimately.

so then I've been looking at getting a refurbished wii u for $200 and thinking maybe that's not a bad deal...

I finished the Solus Project QL and because deciding on a game to play is so hard, I'm now watching Mocking Jay Part 1.

Speaking of Wii games never played, I booted up my Wii U and realized I have Pikmin 3 and best-soundtrack-loser Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze on there. Surprising because I never buy digital Nintendo games. Guessing they're from a club nintendo promotion.

Friend of the site Xavier Woods is doing God's work.

Just found out I'm starting a job that'll last for the duration of the summer, 6 days a week and 14 hour shifts. Gonna miss a lot of content, can't even listen to podcasts during the day. Kinda bummed about that, but the pay ought to be enough to be able to get myself a proper PC around the time the new video cards drop, so that's exciting.

I'll never be in the top 10 for one of these threads at this rate.

WTF kind of job has those requirements? Are you gold mining in the Yukon or something?

DKTF is a great game (and the soundtrack is pretty good) but man is that game haaaard.

it's basically one of the two or three games I'd even get for the system (Bayo 2 being another)
That's pretty much the exact reason I bought mine, it was a Bayo 2 machine with SMTxFE and Xenoblade as extras. Bayo 2 ended up being great and it seems like TMS is actually really good based off of impressions from the Japanese release so I can't complain.

Wait, Tokyo Mirage Sessions is that SMT/FE game? Has it always been called that?

I think it had a different name in Japan.

Still can't believe Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem became... a near-future idol RPG. Like, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! How could they mess up such a perfect pitch?

That's always been the english name but it wasn't revealed until like February

The japanese name is something like Jenei Ibunroku #FE which IIRC does not translate very well to English.

I'm kinda hyped for that game. I have no idea what Idols are and I'm allergic to too much anime but this RPG looks really cool. Not "I need this at launch"-cool but still cool.

based off of what I've seen of it, I'd have to agree. bad news for FE fans I guess though since it looks like 90% SMT
Yeah, I've not seen much but what I have seen looks like it's own weird unique thing. I'll take that over FE with SMT units or SMT with FE characters (which sounds terrible).

That's the issue for me, from what I've seen of the game. It's a bummer.

I just wanted military strategy with a fluffy JRPG layer on top, but instead got... y'know.

I wish I was excited for a Shin Megami x Fire Emblem game instead of creeped out by it

I'm not really that kinda person who enjoys games like this but this seems to be so outlandish and just out there and what else you gonna play on Wii U and they've changed some details to more appropriate ages so to me it's not as creepy as it is just weird. Japanese weirdness.

I mean, they're only changing their ages after the fact. That shit's still hella skeevy.

I'm excited for that and P5 only because they'll finally have an engine and modeled demons for console SMT games/spin-offs

I'm really hoping P5 handles its characters way better than P4. Naoto and Kanji are two of the most disappointing characters I've ever had to deal with in a video game, I think.

Oh sure. Some Japanese games are super creepy. But if that's what they like. I wouldn't buy it if they didn't localize the creepiness out of it but I'm not gonna tell them what to develop and what not.
