Kotaku - No Man's Sky delayed

Jason had a second independent source BTW.

GS just confirmed what he heard weeks before.

Ready for stage 2 yet?

Someone who doesn't state their sources can't be taken seriously....

I don't know, I am just making the point that because retailer A hasn't been informed, it doesn't necessarily mean that the retailer who has is wrong.

Yes sure i get that it could happen. But all of them except GS?.....i don't know...

Of course this is NOT true!

Holy shit guys, keep it together.

Of course he can. That´s how journalism works.

Now you´re being an idiot.

Dammit! I was hopeful! Mentioned earlier that this game could well fall off my radar if it gets pushed back too far and doesn't come with VR, as by October I can see my play time being dominated by that and then once Gran Turismo launches in November, then that's it.

I don't know why this reaction is appropriate... my buddy scheduled a week of vacation for the release of this game... he needs to cancel and reschedule that... so he needs to know the new date ASAP...

Look, this stuff isn't ruled by your friends vacation. They'll announce the new date when ready to do so.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I have studied Journalism for 3 years, you do not reveal your sources if they don't want to be named.

Didn't mean to offend anyone, sorry :(

I just have a hard time myself (own opinon) to take anyone seriously without sources.
Unless it's a trustworthy reporter or publication (wich Kotaku is not)

I took the silence from hello games yesterday as more of a sign that they didn't feel the need to respond to an unsourced rumour, but today as well?

Getting that sorting out a press release vibe.

If I were your friend I would expect... no, demand a personal letter of apology from Sean Murray and the entire staff of Hello Games. This type of foot-shooting behavior should not go unchecked.

say what you want about kotaku, theres plenty of examples of them breaking stories first and getting it right. so.

If he is unable to cancel his vacation, Sony and Hello Games should buy him a 7 day holiday at the resort of his choice.
That is the only way to make this right.

He does have sources, these sources choose to remain anonymous sources.

That is absolutely common in journalism.

Jason is one of THE best out there btw.

Just reading this thread this morning. Unfortunate that some twisted individuals see fit to make fucking death threats over a video game. Get a fucking life before you spend it in jail you twats. NMS is my most anticipated game this year but I'm not going to risk the rest of my life to voice my disappointment at it being delayed. I really wish we didn't see shit like that and I wish swift action to wipe that shit off social networks was more commonplace. Fuck that guy.

But they DO have sources, they're just not telling you who they are.

Kotaku are a trustworthy publication.

The amount of people who WANT this to be delayed is shocking. Come on man you guys don't really want it to have been delayed do you?

I'm waiting for all the calls of "I just signed up for 12 months on PS+ so I can play this, talk about bait and fucking switch" and demands for refunds.

Imagine how I feel. I bought a PS4 in 2013 specifically for this game.
Talk about bait and fucking switch. I am on the phone with Sony right now, demanding my $400 back.

Let me get this straight...

Hello Games is delaying a HUGELY HYPED game, 3 weeks from release. A game that has already been delayed due to floods and other stuff in the past.

Instead of telling the super-hyped fans and Pre-Order customers first, they tell GameStop and only GameStop?

And if the plan was to not say anything until E3, they were going to wait a week before the release date to tell everyone?

Huh?

Maybe Sony asked them to not to publicly announce the delay because they want to announce the VR version coming later in the fall at their press conference?

Do you want a bad game? A delay isn't a guarantee of a good game either of course...
The game will release in the future in same state it would have next month. If they have to delay it this late it's probably due to them thinking they can make more money later in the year. Or maybe they have decided on a PSNEO version as well.

Push for a Neo, it's clear at this point that the title is being delayed for that machine.

Honestly I would have preferred it to come out sooner rather than later, but then again if this delay helps with some of the screen tearing i saw in the preview videos, I'll sit here and wait happily.

This isn't that weird. Generally at this point retailers would know first. They probably haven't been public since they don't have a new date.
