Nintendo Details 2-Day Treehouse at E3

Isn't it obvious? Its crazy to think they got so much space just for one game. Now they are scrambling to add more games to their treehouse presentation somehow. Something happened, they had to act fast, and we got this mess.
People thinking they were ONLY going to show Zelda were deluded considering how much indie and 1st party games they have in the pipes for their current consoles.

EDIT: Are people forgetting how they announced some games after the Digital Event like Fantasy Life?

I was really concerned that they'd only show Zelda for three days. So I'm really happy they've announced this.

I can't believe we are less than 2 weeks from seeing Zelda. It's surreal, I've waited for so long.

The announcement that there would be no NX news did slow me up a bit, but bit by bit my internal hype is building again for what could easily be one of the best games of the generation.

Everybody is blaming PR, but I have to believe this is a step away from their original plans.

I think it's a mixture of both. Nintendo said Zelda would be the only demo not the only game streamed by the Treehouse but by throwing Pokemon into the first day, we know there were some changes made.
No one but the absolute hardcore Nintendo followers watch Treehouse anyway.

What's your point? Another day of Zelda would have had more views and that's true. Close to half the games that will be shown on 2nd day are hated by "hardcore" fans.

Zoomed out on my phone, "Pokémon Zombie World" had me confused for a moment, yet I somehow believed it.

Here's hoping for a release of DQ7 before the end of Summer.

Also really hoping they give us another surprise by dropping Mother 3 on eshop during the event like they did with Beginnings last year.

It just occurred to me that with a "just Zelda" conference, they probably don't have anything to reveal, which means no Mother 3 on VC

Oh, and Picross 3D 2, which is sad because it fixes my biggest problem with the predecessor

It just means no announcement of Mother 3 on VC; they'll still have a Direct some time this year.

Though if we don't see any Mother, that wouldn't bode well for the rest of Emily's rumors

Can we get a mod to add "Not just Zelda now" to the thread title? This news seems significant enough to warrant the change.

Well, one would assume they'd save that for the show itself.

Show?
You mean...
I do t get it.
We still have no conference nor direct or so

I doubt that they will announce something at the treehouse

This news doesn't change anything about nintendo e3 show imho

They never said they'd show anything besides Zelda, either. If they said 'yeah, we'll show extra stuff but we'll detail that later' no one would be bringing it up now.

Saying that the main focus and only game playable is Zelda is implying that there'd be more things, just not playable and not in the main focus of the events. Is like "there'll be more minor things but Zelda is the only important thing we'll talk about".

This is how I interpreted it, anyway ;)

All Nintendo reps will probably be bombarded for 3 days by journalists etc. to at least say something about the NX (and I hope they will do behind closed doors meetings at least). I am guessing someone will eventually let something slip through, and we'll get a snippet.

I never understood why anybody thought they'd only show Zelda at E3. I figured I must have been missing something since that is the assumption everybody made, but that is certainly not how I interpreted their initial messaging.

Was anybody expecting anything out of the Nintendo World Championships beyond the competition itself? Earthbound Beginnings was completely out of the blue, so I wouldn't be too sure that there aren't similar plans in store for Treehouse Live.

The text on e3.nintendo.com has been updated to reflect the "changes":

Nintendo @ E3 starts at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 14.
Tune in starting at 9 a.m. PT to see Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in action, followed by the world’s first in-depth look at the new Legend of Zelda game. The day will continue with livestreamed gameplay and behind-the-scenes info from the game experts of Nintendo Treehouse—live and unscripted from the show floor.

Then be sure to come back for a second day of livestreaming, starting at 10 a.m. PT on June 15. The day will start with a special Pokémon GO developer Q&A session. So, Pokémon Sun and Moon start the show apparently. The calendar still says these events are an hour long.

I really don't understand the NEED to know EXACTLY what this or other companies are going to show at this event. I prefer to be surprised, or at least learn of something new they are producing.

I mean, back in the day, the glorious day of gaming, you had to wait a whole month to learn what what's new, and later at least a week to see a half hour show. And it was great because of it.

Ironically, technology has ruined gaming for me....

Do they only rate finished, completely localized games?

They supposedly have to play the games from start to end, but things like graphics or animations can still be changed.

In this case, the Japanese version was done at that point, and for such a niche release it does not make much sense to start the localisation into 5 languages before game development has ended. So it's pretty safe to assume the game is done.

Nintendo has been delaying games for strategic reasons for a long time. Twilight Princess HD and Majoras Mask 3D remained unreleased for a year.

The way Nintendo has been delivering their news lately has been nothing but Directly to us. Such a mess but glad they are showing more games at E3, even though I have zero interest on all of them. The only one I have slight interest is Paper Mario Color Splash but, oh surprise! It's not listed there... Worst gaming year ever for me since I only own Wii U and 3DS and I don't even play 3DS anymore.

No Paper Mario for some reason.

Probably that game just got delayed as well. At this point I wouldn't be surprised one bit...

so basically

no conference nor digital event, but just treehouse live, probably still with some "recorded" footage (developer interview, behind the scene, trailer), focused on Pokemon Sun&Moon and Zelda on day 1 (the usual "event day") and on various other 3ds and wii u titles on day 2.

still disappointed by no digital event nor structured contents unveil, but at least better than yesterday.

not mad at no NX at e3, considering the delay to march. but zelda only was sooooo stupid in my opinion

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I do not understand starting the stream with Pokemon. That makes zero sense to me when you're unveiling a new Zelda game.

Interesting they'll be starting off with Pokemon and build up to Zelda U! These are two of my most anticipated games and I can't wait to see more of them!
