Are they? I thought the USD price is 39.99 and the GBP price is 29.99.

Misread the previous posts, sorry. Ignore my post.

One post was the pre-sale price, the other was the post-sale price.

$39.99 down to $29.99 in the US, £29.99 down to £22.49 here.

I believe
in waiting for the first sale
. Or maybe not, the scores aren't terrible and I liked the beta, will depend on GAF impressions.

Yeah, 6-7/10 is good sale fodder. Frankly, I'm so burnt out on superfluous side/open-world stuff that I'd just follow the red straight until the end if possible. It's what I've begun doing in Doom, but the game keeps crashing on me. ;_;

Yup, I'm tired from some bad sleep and don't have much money and got burned hard yesterday on Oxenfree, so all I can do now is refreshing the thread waiting for Durante's input.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
It's single combined key, that's why it leaked from Steam. (SteamDB doesn't show names for new packages tho)

It's almost exactly same as Sonic Collection, just split to three tiers.

Oh, hey, Dishonored DE. What's that screenshot from?

Edit: Aw, they're practically just rebranded GOTY subs.

Just a note. It still works out slightly cheaper to buy the game on IndieGala in the UK, and possibly elsewhere.

£21.45 instead of £22.49

not sure this is true, indiegala applies VAT while purchasing, prices are without it, meaning it's higher price than store shows for all of EU. Their real prices (with VAT) for EU are always higher even than steam ones, as far as I noticed.

edited: unless they changed their instore prices to show the final price, I haven't bought there anything for a while, on account of it being the most expensive store for EU.

The price I listed was how much I was charged with PayPal, so I figured it would have everything included.

oh, OK, will check later then, thanks

Well if you don't like it now, I think you won't like it ever. There are some cool missions in the middle, but overall I have been pretty disappointed.

Especially disappointed I was by how little the game actually uses the character switching mechanic.

Cool idea, but you're always either locked into playing a character or it doesn't make any difference at all which one you play. The tutorial promised far more than that mechanic could deliver.
yeah, i was kinda hoping you'd be able to switch characters at any time during missions

it sounds like a gameplay element that could lead to really interesting moments but yeah it probably clashes way too much with the scripted stuff

I don't think Franklin comes off as an asshole like the other two. He's definitely a lot better than Niko.
idk, i wouldn't say he's much better than niko since they're both kind of reluctant and they both have kind of questionable motivations. like franklin is straight up murdering ppl cos living with his feminist aunt's a bitch, he's not doing it to "get out of the hood" or whatever, he like has his own house and has a crazy good car and a job and whatever. he left behind his life of crime and he's going back to it for idk, he wants more money? it's just weak and unrelatable to me, at least so far

meanwhile michael and trevor are legit psychos that you can tell led troubled lives and u know, they're psychopaths, not much more motivation needed. michael tries to live the normal life, but he's a psychopath, so he destroys everything around him. trevor didn't even try and just turned into a not very funny caricature

and niko was not a very well developed character but hey, he wants revenge or whatever, that's a driving force that's kind of understandable. it's a gta game so his quest for revenge will get dragged on endlessly with menial tasks in the middle but u know, the reason why he does everything kind of makes sense

none of these characters are great but i actually think i may like franklin the least, if trevor wasn't just so gross and unfunny

wait, what's wrong with Oxenfree?

You know I posted in the OT without insisting too much, as I don't want to shit up the thread, but the Steam thread seems more suited to rant a little so allow me to say...

Technical
- No official translation, which wouldn't be a problem if the characters didn't talk so fast, which again would be tolerable if the game hadn't opted for a super short window to select dialog choices, you need to have native level reading comprehension / read super fast or this becomes missing answer the game, a fucking immersion killer.
- Who is the dumb prick that chose to subb the dialogs but not the radio messages ? Who ?
- Weak auto-save system
- Walking speed is horrendous
- No puzzle, the only gameplay element is looking for radio stations (it becomes old fast)
- At the end of the day, and barring some huge twist in the final scene, the plot is really nothing to write home about, it's solid but not astounding in any way

Game Design
- For a walking simulator / narrative game, the level design was too gamey for me, the landscape is 100% a video game layout
- Weak character development. For example, I didn't take some character with me for most of the game, and at the end of it he said 'something really broke between us tonight'. Well man, I don't know, we didn't fucking team-up for some hours and it's the end of our friendship, I.. what...

I think for this type of limited gameplay game to work, you have to bite, and I suppose it never clicked with me.

Stranger of Sword City installed, should really be doing work but I'll open it up for a bit and see what I think.

Hope it's good!

EDIT:

Damn, the options menu has a very strange layout. Definitely designed with a controller in mind.

EDIT2:

Game crashed when I tried to go full screen. Works on a restart.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Collected names from Steam Helpdesk. That's only way I know to get package names now, after they were removed from "PICS" whatever it stands for SteamDB uses.

Yeah, I figured that's what the list is. I asked where the screenshot was from as it looks like the list was generated inside a program. Are you going to share it?

As for Dishonored it's just repackaged old version (https://steamdb.info/sub/109829/apps/), so nothing interesting.

Yeah, I know, I looked it up and edited my post accordingly.

Are we done with help desk leaks?

We still don't know what Journey is, for one (I'm sure there are other leaked apps that may be something notable).

InfiniteNine

Rolling Girl
I really liked the Catalyst Beta just doing course runs and trying to get a higher score so still grabbing it day 1 because it's something I'd genuinely enjoy which isn't something I come across often with AAA games.

Not sure if old but, Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 3 coming this fall, BATMAN - The Telltale Series on Summer:

https://twitter.com/jobjstauffer/status/739552648915886080

Season 3 of Walking Dead? Well that'll be interesting. I wonder if we'll get a whole new story or see a continuation. I'm hoping they can deliver, but they've not really lived up to Season 1 of Walking Dead yet.

Oxenfree stuff

Welp, the lack of a translation for such a fast paced narrative driven game would be a killer.

Tales from the Borderlands is superior, just not so dark/depressive.

I already bought it. Download is just 1.4 GB, 3.something installed.

Please share impressions.
(He said despite not having even started Elminage Gothic, 4 Etrian games, most of mainline Shin Megami Tenseis and shitload of other dungeon crawlers).

Just need email address.

I have no plans to share program part of it, only data it generates.
It's part of larger program and requires backend that is meant to run 24/7.

It uses data from PICS to detect changes (as SteamDB does) and checks package names based on that from Helpdesk. This way it's more efficient than periodically generating lists.

The GOG summer sale is likely to begin this week, as there is no weekly sale and GOG always tries to have their sale before Valve's.

I prefer to have my games on steam, but the discounts on GOG are probably going to be better.

Thanks for the heads up! Offer's still good.

Interesting to note that in the email with the key they say that they'll cancel any unused keys for those that don't get registered soon. No specific timeframe mentioned.

So Stranger of Sword City actually seems to be pretty good. Only 50 minutes in, but I can already tell that I'm going to enjoy the mechanics in this game.

That one crash I had when changing to full screen seems to be a one off. Other games have done it in the past as well, so I won't hold that against it.

One slightly annoying thing though. Is there a way for me to change the input icons to display keyboard buttons instead of 360 inputs? Seems like taking the controller out is the only way.

Just need Square to announce Nier 2 PC and we are golden, we all know FFXII is coming.

Does the GTX 1080 Offer any free steam games or the offer is over with the previous gen?

They (almost) never offer games with new cards if the cards are good enough on their own. Give it 3-6 months and they will start bundling games with those cards.

So no free games, for now. Very likely a bundle offers before the end of the year.

Nier is a great game, let's talk about it and let us all agree on how amazing it is.

My Nier Merchandise will finally arrive in a week. ~~
