If Scalebound gets a 90-plus, its going to do just fine. It's an open-world RPG where you ride a fucking dragon. That concept has plenty of mainstream appeal.

Fake but they are really grasping at the low hanging fruit here. Their next fake should be fake menu/splash screen for Forza 7.

You're forgetting that its a Kamiya game.

Granted, it looks plenty neutered compared to his typical stuff but lets wait and see before we declare any Kamiya game as having mainstream appeal.

1 vs 100 would be much more likely to succeed when including PC.

Definitely.

This has been annoying to me too. That's why I have been keen on seeing them release a 90-plus metacritic new IP because the universal acclaim will help sales and increase the likelihood of getting a sequel.

I mean, it's nice that they always have something nice and new on the horizon, but it would be amazing if they could also pump out sequels while bringing new titles.

Imagine if they have kept building all the franchises they have ever made a deal with thus far:

- Jet Set Radio
- Ninja Gaiden
- Conker
- Banjo
- Kameo
- Viva Pinata
- Lost Odyssey
- True Fantasy Live Online
- Blue Dragon
- Alan Wake
- Sunset Overdrive
- Mass Effect
- MechAssault
- Shadowrun
- Oddworld
- N3
- Gears of War
- Forza
- Halo
- Rallysport
- Top Spin
- Splosion Man
- Max and the magic Marker
- Age of Empires
- Brute Force
- Voodoo Vince
- Jade Empire
- Project Gotham Racing
- Crackdown
- Crimson Skies
- Flight Simulator
- Zoo Tycoon
- Dungeon Siege
- Age of Mythology
- Rise of Nations
- Amped
- Azurik
- Dead or Alive
- Shenmue
- Kingdom Under Fire
- Fable
- Otogi

And many more. Sorry for the list, but imagine having all that portfolio as live and health franchises, who wouldn't be crazy about their consoles/platforms? So diverse, so manyquality games.

The sad part is that not only most of those are dead, the ones alive are on a downward trend.

They wouldn't announce H3A this year, it'll be at next years event. Probably fake.

It's a Platinum game.

Don't get me wrong I'd love for it to do good and prove me wrong, it's one of the games I'm anticipating most, but it's a Platinum game. If Bayonetta 2 bombed on the WiiU when WiiU owners are desperate for games most of the time, Scalebound has no chance on Xbox IMO. Barely anyone buys platinum games and I don't see Scalebound breaking that trend.

For me the only chance Scalebound had was being mass bundled during the holiday and forced into 3M+ gamers but it was pushed out of 2016 so probably not happening any more.

We'll see anyways, hope it does sell well but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I actually think it is "ok" that they have a smaller install base and releasing these IPs. Sure it would have been better to have a bigger audience to release them but having a small one could do it justice as well because people talk and word of mouth helps a lot and they can grow that install base. Plus, when you aren't leading, you try harder...MS (as a whole) tries much better when they are coming from behind (twss) and we as consumers get better products (for the most part, they still fuck up).

But the problem with that is when you have a lower install base, there's less people talking about it and not as much word of mouth. Of course I'm not saying any new MS IP won't do good, but it's much harder than if they were in the lead and not trailing 2:1.

They're trying to fix this issue with the UWP/Win10, once that takes over it won't really matter as much because they can still rely on PC gamers. But I'm not expecting huge numbers from PC until at least a few years.

Crackdown multiplayer (predicting F2P standalone) will be available this summer aswell, I'm betting it's one of those "available now" announcements. The crackdown website has some thing where you can link your account and get an agent number, and they sent out emails a few days ago, so something is happening there.

I see that as a more possibility

Do we really think Dead Rising 4 will drop this year?

I mean, it would coincide with the Christmas setting, but surely it would get eaten alive these holidays if so.

Just looked at the site:

http://www.crackdown.com/gameinfo/

Looks like they planned on doing a bunch of info dumps for it the past couple months with the last one this month. Looks like they didnt get to 3 of them.

Just because Platinum hasn't had a commercially successful game yet, doesn't mean it will NEVER have a commercially successful game. They have had one 90-plus game and it came on the Wii U and Bayonetta is a game that certainly doesn't have a ton of mainstream pull. At 90-plus, Scalebound will be successful.

It's fake
Yeah, even if it was real, why would it leak or be shown now? It wouldn't come out until Fall 2017...

Even though this is fake. Why in the hell would they make H3 anniversary when there's Master Chief Collection
This too. Although I could see H3 Anniversary being made an expansion to the Master Chief Collection (a la ODST's addition post MCC release) vs. its own separate release.

Not saying that, just don't think Scalebound will be that game personally.

Either way let's hope it's successful because it looks incredible, can't wait to see more about it at E3.

SoT is being hyped up on social media for a while now & they have people going to their studio to play the game from that competition a few weeks back. I'm confident it's coming out this year. August release like Rare Replay as that put's it well ahead of Destiny & in a quiet month.

Recore could get pushed back but I can see that coming out this year too, maybe a July/August release

What you can piss your dragon off?
That is so bad ass.

Platinum really seem to be focusing on the level of interactivity between players and Thuban (the dragons name, for those interested) as the backbone of the entire game.

I hope this short clip is just one example of how that can be displayed from a gameplay perspective, since they have spoken about other examples of how your relationship can impact gameplay but have yet to show much footage outside some small clips here and there.

Thats awesome. I didn't know that.

SoT will probably have a beta announced at the conference. I don't think end of this year is out of the question. Granted we do have a lot of games at the end of this year...I hope games don't get skipped because of it. I think platform holders should just let the 3rd parties have the Christmas rush and first party get the spring time. But that's a personal thing.

Might be a bit tactless, but I have an entire thread devoted to breaking down the history of the game as well as gameplay mechanics and any other information you can get on it.

If you or anyone wants to know more, it's floating around on the fourth page if I'm not mistaken.

It's got plenty of gifs though, so those with slower Internet or on a cellphone with data limits should probably stay clear.

It's going to come. It was the most successful Halo game of all time. They wouldn't create anniversary editions of 1 and 2 and then skip Halo 3 because you can play Halo 3 in the MCC. I have a bit of news for you, you could play Halo 1 on the Xbox 360 too.

Prepare to finish the fight, again.

because Halo 3 is a bad looking game even in the MCC. could use a bit of remastering

Doesn't need it.

Halo CE and 2 needed them because they were original Xbox games and not HD. Halo 3 was already playable in HD graphics and got updated to 1080p with the MCC.

Should we expect a Halo Reach Anniversary, 4 Anniversary, 5 Anniversary, so on and so on?

It's completely unnecessary and a complete waste of time and resources.

CEA was a 10 year anniversary game for the franchise and H2A was the only non HD Halo game left, and basically celebrates Halo's first XBL game. H3 adds nothing when you can go buy the MCC since it's already HD and everything is in that game.

Probably not happening but if all the games actually come out this year I could see something like:

June - Whatever this Crackdown multiplayer is.
July - Recore (or late August)
Late July - Sea of Thieves Beta
Early-mid August - Sea of Thieves
Mid September - Forza Horizon 3
Early October - Gears 4
Mid October - Halo Wars 2 Beta
Early-Mid November - Halo Wars 2

I agree. They don't "need it" but they will do it. What they need and what they do aren't tied to the hip. Just don't be surprised when you see it next year, though I doubt anyone will be truly surprised when they announce it.

You what now? Halo 3 has an amazing art style and looks awesome at 1080p/60.
I wouldn't say no to a remaster, but it doesn't need it.

A lot of crappy news hit the fan today about Xbox underperforming hmmmm, right before E3. Wondering how they'll address it.

Or you know, it's disgruntled ex employees. And I dlove but they address it. Because MS nor Sony really comment on the leaks and stuff that kotaku and other sites post so I don't know why they would start now

Don't know how Microsoft will manage to fit two new Xbox(Slim and Scorpio), Xbox One/Windows 10 PC news, Gears 4, Scalebound, Recore, Forza, Crackdown 3 etc etc etc in one conference

Well last year we had that Hololens MC demo which took up a good amount of time. So switch that with the hardware talk and you have pretty much the same amount of stuff

The ROTR info means MS has their work cut out for them. Like, a lot of work.

I mean I believe Halo 5 underperformed, sure, but to say Minecraft underperformed?
And expected Xbox hardaware is twice as much? Really? They expected 40 million units? When was this expectation made, in 2013 before the Xbox One reveal?
Also the most suspicious of all, Windows 10 installations are half as much as they should be?? They expected 600-700 million installations by now wtf? Not to mention it's the fastest OS adoption ever right?

Something doesn't add up.

Assuming that the numbers are true and not just thrown out at random, than sure. Though I am sure majority of PC sales were done through steam.

To be fair, it's been free for a year and they have been aggressive with the Win10 update pushes (shame one them).

Though, we have separate threads for these kinds of talk, don't want this thread get derailed now...been having a good time.

Like did Sony even think that he PS4 would come out of the gate selling like bonkers? Why would MS think that the XB1 would sell so much more than the 360. And then they wouldn't adjust that forecast after the reveal and seeing ore-order numbers. That doesn't make any sense at all

yeah i dont think those rumors are 100% true. they are probably exaggerated alot so ms may have been hoping to have 100 win10 os users but only got like 80 or 90 mil
