Lol people thinking they will drop the mp benefit with a gold subscription.

Y'all are nuts.

They make bank off that shit

I don't think they would drop Multiplayer, but I could see a subscription service like EA access with a game vault, early access and discounts which would be a great alternative if they did.

Yeah, I agree that if they were to do something different with PD and try to still make it be faithful to the original, then it could work if it's in the right hands. Although I don't think I agree that Goldeneye/Perfect Dark haven't aged well necessarily. I guess there are some things about those games that are dated in this day and age, but I can still play those games today and have fun with them.

I'm curious. Since you say they haven't aged well, what parts of the games exactly did you think haven't aged well? Is it the controls? The level design? The gameplay in general? If they were to revive PD, I think they could still make it be similar to the first game in terms of structure maybe. GE/PD were very different from modern shooters in that they were less linear and the missions were designed around having different objectives based on different difficulty levels. I liked that the missions changed things up and gave you different objectives based on what difficulty you were playing on, whereas with modern shooters playing the games on a higher difficulty merely makes the missions simply harder and doesn't really change anything about the levels themselves. I think GE/PD are still pretty unique shooters even today and I think they could possibly bring back the same type of mission structure and refine it and make it work in today's FPS landscape.

I just think the controls are far too jerky even with dual analog, all the mechanisms that made the game unique and cool back then have been beaten to death with every other juggernaut IP now, I think mission structure can be wrked with, I loved PD to death but im just not having fun with it anymore

There is a certain way, yes.

Ekim you just delivered my Xbox conference of dreams

Hell yeah.

Really think this game might be a show stealer. I can feel it in my bones. Unless State of Decay 2 is announced, in which case...Re-who...

-Speculation that TV DVR has been put on hold because of the HDMI-IN feature being removed for Xbox slim

Hopefully not as I hope the feature will stay... but then I don't even see the connection since the DVR functions were only supposed to support over-the-air TV through the USB tuner, right ?

-Kotaku leak missing one codename outside of Scorpio
-Scorpio not likely to show at E3, would be surprising if they did
-Xbox slim definitely real, not 4K gaming, 4K video playback "could be white", 40-50% smaller, new standard controller coming with it
-Speculation that TV DVR has been put on hold because of the HDMI-IN feature being removed for Xbox slim
-Xbox app supporting win32 games is an attempt to connect PC and console players
-Xbox live experience effectively coming to PC, with Windows Store leveraging it
-Windows Store is hot garbage right now, but they have to start somewhere
-Think if Xbox made all console games UWP apps. "Steam and Sony will have a tough time"
-This E3 will show Microsoft being more aggressive
-Unaware if Xbox streaming devices will be announced at E3 but they are real, might break off into its own brand like what happened with Microsoft Band

So, here is what my take on the facts. I think the 40% figure comes from the PSU no longer being there. Dimensionally, the machine isn't significantly smaller (wider/taller).
I think HDMI-in is still there, there are things that are still there that wouldn't make sense otherwise.

I suspect the other codename is Pegasus

I think whats he's getting at is Microsoft is slowly stepping back from all their TV features for now which means new hardware will be built solely as a gaming enthusiast device and not a multimedia center

Yes, you have to take a big leap to jump to no HDMI-in because of them putting OTA DVR on hold. There is still OTA support and OneGuide.

Well RIP everything.

His reasoning was that it would just be surprising for Microsoft to show Scorpio right after showing a slim iteration of the Xbone at the same show

But IIRC, 360 E and Xbone were all showcased around the same time so

There seems to be many trustworthy sources going "yep its happening, its going to be there" and some going "i dont know if it will be there, but its real"

I actually don´t really mind the size of the Xbox, but I just hate the power brick. Removing this would be huge for me.

If they then can make the box 10-20% smaller (maybe only in height), I would be truly satisfied.

HDMI-In => I also don´t think they would remove it. Too much work with all the OneGuide stuff went into the box which would become mostly useless.

Now if Ekim, Shinobi and Tom Warren came in here and straight said no... well that would be a different story.

Why do people want MS to show a console that's still over a year away (if true). From a competitive and logistical stand point, I don't think it will make sense. I do expect them to talk about it by hinting at it.

Excitement, brother. You aren't wrong, but put me in the group that wants to hear SOMETHING.

yep the showing/discussion of Scorpio is the biggest question mark still out there

It can get the hype buzzing whilst everyone is paying attention, I dont think its going to be showcased fully tbh, but we'll receive a few bits of info

I don't know why they would ever remove it. It probably doesn't cost much at all and it adds some functionality to the box. I doubt that they will ever talk about it but they won't remove it.

Yeah. I don't KNOW it's in but as I said, the Slim has other features that would be rendered useless if it doesn't imho.

iirc the DVR feature was always supposed to be working with the USB TV stick only, so I don't see a missing HDMI in as a reason for the cancellation.
