One specific question: is the game coming to PC more broadly or just to Windows 10 Universal Windows Platform Store?

@Stump did you try the new modes? They could be quite the challange and eliminate that "hollow busy work" stuff you describe.

I didn't really get a chance to. The DLC came out and I was interested, and then Game of the Year edition or whatever came out, and I kinda just fell off the bandwagon. Good to hear that they go a ways towards fixing the problems though, like I said the core game did a lot right and I did enjoy my time with it despite my reservations.

It's running on UE4. We're really excited about how good it looks already!
Good choice, I do miss working with it (apart from being still heavily WIP one a year-and-a-half ago). I really hope you have some time do some deep-dives into the art for a blog or something similar :)

Good luck and congrats on the E3 reveal!

Oh my god. I cant wait. I enjoyed the shit out of the first one!

I wish I could give more details on exactly how the co-op works, but suffice to say for now that it'll be drop-in, drop-out.

You say 'map' like there's only one. :)

Oh, I'm sure that will happen. Beta helped us a lot with SoD. Stay tuned on the undeadlabs.com forums to be the first in on that, but it'll probably be some months.

Please make sure you all dont make the same mistakes you made last time around (example: time passing and events happening even while NOT playing)

State of Decay was the bee's knees with some issues, double-dipping was a no brainer on 360 and Steam. We'll see how this one turns out, but I am very, very chuffed at the idea of more SOD.

Please make sure tou all dont make the same mistakes you !ade last time around (example: time passing and events happening even while NOT playing)
Aye, that was a fucking stupid design decision. Less of that, please.

That particular decision got massively nerfed in patches post-release so I sense you're not the only one who didn't like it, hahaha!

Finally. The arguments this thing is going to cause will be epic.

Sorry but I have to hope against you. I want it back in.

Thank god for the SP support, I thought it was going to be an online only thing.

Looking forward to this, hopefully it runs good on PC.

As someone who fairly enjoyed the main campaign, Breakdown was where I spent over a hundred hours in the game. So I hope the sequel will ship with some sort of sandbox mode or have an infinite length with the campaign.

You already touched on bases but I really hope you guys include motorcycles, and maybe even bicycles and or skateboards to the game. You could even have them as character specific "traits" like the first game where only certain characters who have experience skateboarding can use one as an escape device. I hope that the "trait" system is expanded upon and not abandoned in the sequel.

I know you can't comment on much but this will be a full priced retail title, correct?

Was honestly lightheaded after the reveal. So stoked.

mgamini, thank you for taking the time to hang out with us and answer questions (those you *can* answer, anyways!)

Will we be seeing any familiar faces?

Will there be crossplay/buy for X1 and PC?

Can you tell us about the evolution of combat at all?

What are you most excited to talk about in the future?

Glad to hear it has a Single Player mode. Hope the main arc/missions are more complex and detailed, and that choices have deeper consequences story-wise. To me, that was the major fault of the original. Some missions felt like it would have a great pay off, just to end into a character blurb a line, and that was it. No more interaction, you couldn't recruit them or even make sure they survived.

I only vaguely recall 2 'major' arcs: The one about the major/law commissioner (?), and the one where you help the military to blow up an road wall to escape.

Hope this game has tons more of those.

Wonder if there will be more ways to customize the way characters look?
(at least one). That would be awesome. That, and having a non-UWP version. This is the kind of game that would benefit from a healthy Modding community.

Year One Edition had some mods on PC that made coming back to the game always more fun, so I really hope they don't throw it away or are forced to by Microsoft.

Hey folks!

We're so excited to finally be able to talk about SoD2. Hit me up if you have any questions, and I'll answer whatever I can.

It will be a 4 player drop in drop out style which is awesome. My question is dies my character save outside of someone else's world. To clarify do I have my own character with my own gear that I bring into a friend's world or do I have a character in his world that only saves to that world?

Offline, single player if you like, or drop-in drop-out co-op with friends if you choose. We have a lot of fans that loved the single player experience, and we don't want to lose that.

Thank you so, so much. Been with the series even during its code name days. Thank youuuu

I can't talk about prices, but it'll be digital and retail, yes.

- You might see some familiar faces. Stay tuned :)

- Yes, X1 and Windows 10 players will be able to play together.

- No, sorry :)

- Everything? The list of stuff we have planned and the list of stuff we can talk about is really lopsided right now. Can't wait to share it all.

UE4 hopefully means some of the tech issues won't be as bad as they were in the first game. I was able to look past them with no problem, but I know a lot of the people had issues and felt the game was too much of a chore to invest in because of them.

CryEngine man...what a disaster.

New engine. Should be better this time.

I hope so. I spent about 17 hours with the game and bought both DLCs but ultimately ran out of things to do and everything became a loop. There were also quite a few bugs and as I said, the performance was horrid. I also think the game did not have a 1080p resolution option or was it locked at 30 fps? Maybe both, it's been a couple of years since I was playing it. There was also a half-finished story arc with those brothers on that farm to the east or something.

I will not buy the YOSE Day One edition, as I do not believe it has anything to offer me anymore (not to mention that 1/3 of its reviews on Steam are negative, with quite a few things to say and point out).

But I am hoping you'll make a good survival game this time around, and I will take a good look at it once it releases. SoD had some good ideas, and the first few hours, stranded in the woods and looting stuff and building a base etc were pretty great in terms of atmosphere.

I'd imagine it'll be tied to your account so you can only play one at a time.

One thing I think that would be amazing (And give the game/map a lot of replayability) is if the game incorporated seasons into it.

Have dynamic weather and things but also changing seasons over the course of time passing. Tie seasons into things, from the way you survive (IE temperature changes, needing heat/better clothing in winter) to how it affects your supplies.

For example, growing food or such would be much more difficult in the dead of winter and instead you'd rely on storing what food you can harvest and then having to scavenge for it more in the winter time.

Could also tie the enemies into it too, the way winter might change/affect zombies vs the summer time, maybe even have certain creatures only coming out in certain seasons or times of day for example.

This was the biggest announcement for me at E3. I followed the hell out of the original during it's delevoplment, and while it ended up with some technical issues, it was still my favorite game of that year. I've bought it in 360, PC, and XB1. Played it to death on all three platforms, and I can't wait to dive into this one next year.

Needless to say, day fucking 1!
