[Spoilers] Resident Evil 7 Demo: "There's More, Right?" Edition

The meat hook is strange. It hangs too low to be useful for hanging the carcasses that are in that room, which there are already too many of.

It's also not part of the room in the VHS tape. I thought maybe using the axe on the carcasses would give me a piece of meat to hang out it, but no dice. I'm also really suspicious of the green drawer in the kitchen that doesn't have anything in it.

My best guess is that you need to do more than just use the lockpick in the VHS tape, there has to be more you can interact with.

I don't think we will hear anything from CAPCOM until next month at least, right now they are basically telling us:

Capcom should release like a 3mb patch for the demo that contains absolutely nothing so people go even crazier HAhAhahAHAHaHAH

If we're going with the number theory, I remember the question mark on the back of the Umbrella Helicopter picture looks like an upside down 2... then again, that could just be how the person writes their question marks....

Was there an actual reason people stopped looking for all the ghosts? Did anyone ever get all 7 in a session without getting family'd?

Some streamers did this, I believe. If it affected something, nobody identified what it was.

There was initially some talk of seeing all of them in one play of the tape, but most are assuming there is some sort of RNG factor to spawning so this would not be practically possible as a solution

There could be a trigger that just isn't understood, but it feels like that horse has been beaten pretty hard

I know, i just feel like we explored all this stuff day 1 of the demo, its why we're grasping at straws. You know always bothered me the most? The Simplygon logo on the side of the microwave, with the companies name spelled out. Seems like a strange demo to give a shout to a developer in game when its one we're scouring for clues.

the box with the scribbled out name is the games development code name. it's crossed out and there is a 7 because it is officially resident evil 7 now.

And I think that's as close as we're going to get to a solid 4.

That's all I've got. I really need to stop playing this, lol...

Hope somebody smarter than me can crack this. Goodnight, all...

Regardless of Xpliskin's stretch in seeing numbers along the axe, nonetheless we have found something, since there are numbers on the chained-up cabinet (3) and in the bloody shelf (5).

Considering how evil the placement was on the lockpick, I'm going to almost guarantee there is an item we've all been walking past that's the key. It's most likely in the VHS tape.

I was about to give up, and laugh at how fun this all was... Until I saw a video from Reddit where the barricade up on the third floor was missing its door.... And the player could see inside, where it was dimly lit by a lamp and there was yet another DOORWAY. The planks were preventing him from getting further, but god damn - that new piece of footage really got me spinning.

I don't think it was a glitch because the cinematography inside this room was.... Consistent with the whole demo.

I also explored outside rather than going inside the house. Found nothing of value, other than the swinging chair that can be moved.

Too many man-hours put in for that to be a possibility. I'm like 90% sure there is no solution, or its something insanely abstract.

Edit: Didn't mean to quote the game 7 post, ha.

I'm not the only one that sees the 4 in blood on the wall corner by the bolt cutters right?
And it bolsters my theory that the dummy baby drops down which is a hint to #5..the dummy finger.

How angry is everyone going to be if there's nothing?

Because I think that's why Capcom isn't saying anything. I don't think they expected people to get this crazy about it, and are worried about blowback if they up and reveal they were just teasing.

I don't think it's actually possible to get out of the house. If the events of the demo happen before the game, it doesn't make sense for there to be any survivors. "Get out of the house" is merely a goal given at the beginning of the demo to give players some sort of objective.

If there really is some super convoluted puzzle to "win" this demo, I will be shocked. It'd be awesome if all of this hard work pays off for the true believers, but I really don't think there's anything that deep going on here.

I think that's entirely possible. I've been over and over the house inside and out, though. I feel like the bolt cutters being in the VHS is the next breakthrough, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. I just don't feel like pixel hunting at this point, though if anyone is willing to try, be my guest!

Streamer on twitch named demp11 managed to replicate this and is in process of uploading a video for it.

This numbers theory is ridiculous. You guys are trying to see numbers that aren't there in things. This is a sign that it's not the solution and you guys are making yourself believe there's soemthing more to try.

I wouldn't be angry. It's all fun and games among the fanbase. We're already making wikis for these games. We're already sharing glitches and exploits to boss bottles. We have lore discussions for games that don't have traditional narratives.

If I were the developers, I would be estatic by the attention.

I think all developers should look at how crazy people are getting over this demo and make convoluted, vague demos as well.
I hope there is more to it, but I doubt it. If people haven't found the solution now, then I don't think there really is one.

It's a bit of stretch but maybe.? made me notice that that exact same stain is printed on four different places in that room lol.
