every dev says this with every nintendo hardware. same shit different cycle

it's good to have CDPR's two cents but they may as well have said that the NX is a system that plays games

No, you see, this time it'll be totally different from all the other times devs have paid lipservice to a new Nintendo platform. This time the third-parties will come flocking back, I swear.

Have CDPR or Take Two ever said positive stuff like this about a new console? Honest question, since I don't remember.

Are we certain that the translation is accurate? If it's accurate, we can say with certainty that there's a current-gen NX console, and it's very likely faster than vanilla Xbone.

CDPR saying this is a bit different than, say, Ubisoft or Take-Two, since we're talking about an actual developer and one that makes a limited selection of games at that.

3rd parties can easily come back. All Nintendo need to do is spend some money promoting them, like Sony did with Destiny. Nintendo are notoriously cheapskate when it comes to third-party IP marketing.

Sounds intriguing. Well they weren't around for Wii U time right?

Since I still have some optimistic bones in my body, I'm looking forward to what the NX will get within its first year :)

I think it was the Nintendo President of Canada or something, he said they're going to reveal the NX in fall.
I'd like to know what this mysterious Nintendo President of Canada looks like, sounds mythical, like unicorns, Santa, NX and whatnot...
not that I don't believe NoC it's just funny were referencing their statements for some reason lol, well it's funny to me :/

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
Somehow i doubt he's talking about a powerful machine what with Ubisoft's 'wii audience' quip

This. Watch a Sony advert and it always has 3rd party games on it.

If you watch the whole video you see that Fabian from CD Project (Community Manager) is joking a lot and pulling the leg of the host on several occasions.

Im really doubtful he knows anything or truly believes what he is trying to sell in that interview.

The translation is accurate, I just wouldn't draw too many conclusions from it. The stuff that you're reading into it is going too far already in my opinion. That's just me factoring in the situation and tone of the conversation and the guy's position though.

It's like Santa Claus telling me Lil Wayne's upcoming drop'll be fire! Random...but sweet!!

...uuuhh well maybe in that case I'll watch the actual video then. (sigh)

This would be really disappointing and hilarious. CD Projekt RED probably keep an eye on GAF right? I'm picturing them discovering this thread and laughing.

How many open-world 60fps games does PS4 have?
Not happening. 1080p at 30fps should be expected though.

Whilst it's not available just yet, Tales of Berseria, apparently. Probably makes for the closest analogue to Zelda too. It's cel-shaded, cross-gen and only run 30fps on PS3 too.

If the NX is PS4 level and BotW is locked at 30, it won't be because the hardware can't handle it.

Edit: Oh, how did I forget? MGSV was 60 fps open world, cross gen too.

Realistically, I don't think CDPR have anything planned for the NX. They've probably got a small team working on Gwent, and the rest of the Warsaw studio on Cyberpunk. But then again, this is the studio that puts 40 hours of voice acted story campaigns in a F2P card game, so who knows...

Developer excited about pre-release console? Well I never! It certainly beats pre-release pessimism.

I love the logic leaps happening in this thread though. Third parties are back! Cyberpunk on NX! Super powerful hardware!
While it's good to be hopeful, realize that in all likelihood the NX is getting a Gwent port and little else. It seems like Gwent is a title that they want on everything from phones to PC.

What would be the reason in that case? Nintendo is not known for chosing 30fps to make it more cinematic.

But anyway, I just want to have my expectations in check, 60fps is a too big of a deal for me so expecting that and then get 30fps would be devastating.

Unless they're literally only making Gwent for it (which isn't impossible I suppose), I think what I'm reading makes sense while everyone who read Reggie's comments to mean that NX is significantly weaker than Xbone was jumping the gun, IMO.

I'll admit that I did completely forget about Gwent, though, so I'll dial it back a bit.

Sometimes games aren't properly designed with variable framerates in mind (particularly Japanese developed games) so it's not always trivial to up the framerate without introducing glitches. I'd like to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt here, since they are normally quite keen on 60fps, but I honestly don't know how they program their games.

Hopefully Nintendo is trying to get CD projekt Red to make a Complete Witcher Trillogy Remastered edition for the NX. That would do extremely well

Edit. Im guessing the NX handheld has a Gsync/free sync/nsync/whatever monitor that allows for variable frame rates. The Ability to optimise a game to 53 or 55 FPS and have it run smoothly could be a game changer.

I'd hope any NX home console to be at least 2.5Tflps. Since that was the minimum that Unreal engine(or was it cry engine?) wanted for its global illumination feature. With the Handheld likely to be .4Tflps and both units likely compatible It would require the home console to have a multiple of .4Tflps to remain compadible. So that would make 2.8, 3.2 or 3.6Tflps the likely targeted power levels. If Tne NX is truely running industry leading chips

A Witcher 3 Enhanced is exactly the kind of game I'd double dip for personally, while Batman and Deus Ex were passable, just didn't interest me :/

It seems likely considering the game is literally far, far improved over its launch state thanks to CDPR's diligent patches. I'm sure all the consoles will get it with all the free and paid DLC, just like the previous Witcher games. I wonder if it'll be visually enhanced for Neo and Scorpio, too...

it's nice but the same was said about the wiiu and 3ds as well.
I still remember the positive statements from the darksiders developers and the funny shitstorm 4A caused, because of the weak CPU.
let's hope the NX will be decent.
