So Gengar is the strongest Pokemon? He has the highest regular attack (16) and has the two bar special.

You'd just field any Normal-type.

I think Alakazam is the best at the moment, with Zen Headbut (16) and Psychic (2-bar, 50).

So tomorrow is Incense/Lucky Egg/Module for lunch break at a Poke Stop MickeyDs near my office

I also have 5 eggs to hatch and 4-5 Pokemon to evolve

Sweet, SWEET EXP

I've got something similar going. I have a lucky egg ready to go and I have 6 eggs that will be ready to hatch at the same time and two pokemon at the moment to evolve

I think you actually interpreted what I was saying backwards.
"1 bar" would be a move that just has a single, large bar.
"4 bar" would be a move that has a bar composed of four segments.

I'm saying the moves that have one large bar seem to be best, and the moves you can use "rapidly" seem to take too long to actually use + generally weak power output to be worth it.

Oh, yes, agreed then. We reached roughly the same conclusion, anyway. :p One bar can take too long to power up for some of the higher-level gyms, I think, you want to be able to use the special at least once a round. Two-bar moves are where it is at for me; four-bar are definitely worst.

Drove by the lake today and someone had set up a lure. Nabbed a Magicarp and a Psyduck.

As for catching thing I have found that using my index finger instead of my thump aims better. Also you have to hit them square in the face with the ball

Yeah, we could look into it. I do think I'd have to get the police involved so I have to find out the details on that. It would most likely be on a Saturday if we can get it going.

Also* I just got your PM buddy. Sorry I didn't respond to it earlier, I usually browse Gaf of my phone so I don't always see my PM notifications.
Oh it's all good. I don't know anything about the police permission either, sorry... I do know that they are much, much less likely to approve of stuff like this if it's after dark, so maybe we could aim for early evening like somewhere between 5-7.

I live in the margate/coconut creek area so that would be fine, or Boca or Ft Lauderdale. Possible we could do it at the Sawgrass Mills mall.
The Sawgrass Mall is my stomping ground, I could walk to it from my place. It is LIT UP with stops and gyms. But, I'm not sure if a mall would be as much fun as downtown FL, which I haven't actually seen since I started playing PoGo. The mall already gets kinda congested on Saturdays, lol

edit: Just saw that
I'm actually curious what that mall looks like for pokestops
It's bonkers. I'll try to count the stops next time I walk through, lots of good spots for multiple lures too.

curveballs are much easier with the thumb, though. I can reliably get Nice Curveballs on everything except fliers now and Greats maybe 10% of the time.

You are a force to be reckoned with. my tossing technique is amateurish, though I have recently switched back to thumb.

The kind of streaming setup some people have for this game seems insane.

Wireless headphones, chat screen, front cam, back cam (separate device from front cam), then the mobile phone with the game...all while on the move outdoors. Must be crazy to keep track of subs and donations while moving about.

I am still trying to get my head around how many devices he is using and how exactly is it all connected and how he is streaming all of that at once, not to mention on a mobile internet ! And the battery setup.

In fairness, I actually wait for the circle to be largest, not smallest, because it makes getting Nice easier and I don't really notice the capture rate difference and feel like a boss when it says Nice Curveball. Probably a bad habit to be in, but there you go.

It's happened, I've heard "non gamers" talking about it at work.
oh shit, thank you, that reminds me

so I'm off work today, but we had a team lunch to welcome a new guy to the team so I went in for that to be a nice team playery kinda guy. Since I was playing PoGo all weekend I considered this my dreary temporary return to actual reality, no more talking about Pokemon for 90 minutes.

10 minutes in lunch my coworker asks me, "so have you been playing that new Pokémon thing." "Yeeeeep..." Her fiance has been non-stop. He's Team Instinct and thus dead to me, but he turns out to be one of the guys who traded the Ikea Gym with me on Saturday so that's hilarious. Another coworker chimes in and says her kids won't stop playing it, they keep asking her to make weird turns in the car so they can collect stuff. My boss says her husband has been playing it and driving her crazy.

The others at the table haven't heard about it but are interested in why it's so big and I explain the basics. "So you actually have to get off your ass to play it"? ha

It is EVERYWHERE.

I can't even connect with a curveball at all, hahaha. That's interesting, though. I wonder if curveballs have any boost to capture themselves.

How are people getting a good variety of mons? Beaides water, typically its the same junk as in the game everywhere I go with an ocassional evolved/rare one stage evo thrown in, but thats maybe 2-3 a day. It almost discourages me from walking, because most of the pokemon on the paths and parks out of the 2 I've gone to in my city have been the same as usual. The park I went to yesterday had NO rare pokemon worth my time.

My apologies if this has been posted before, but I didn't see this mentioned in the OP:

The official Bluetooth accessory that pairs with your smartphone:

inline-576x240.png

A portable device called the Pokémon GO Plus will enable Pokémon GO players to enjoy the game even while they’re not looking at their smartphones. The device connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth and notifies the player about events in the game—such as the appearance of a Pokémon nearby—using an LED and vibration. In addition, players can catch Pokémon or perform other simple actions by pressing the button on the device. Look forward to the launch of the Pokémon GO Plus accessory in late July 2016.

Are servers for PTC accounts notoriously bad for anyone else?

Any difficult Pokemon I try to catch, the game just freezes. Most Pokestops don't work. It's a pain to even try to fight a gym. Just about everything about the game freezes on a very common basis.

I just want to know if it's just me or not.

Hey guys! So I'm Canadian and have been waiting for this app to officially launch for days now and I'm about to Crack and get the apk version for android. Should I try and hold out a little longer or should I break down and do it

why can't they do that with a smart watch?

Anyone else get this shit where the game hangs after you catch a pokemon? The ball just sits there doing nothing and I have to restart the app. Happens probably 30% of the time.

So does anyone else have this issue where everytime you go to catch a pokemon the app decides to basically freeze up once the ball drops to the ground. It happens like every other one I try to catch and I hate having to restart the app to get it to work again.

I don't think the gameplay lag is associated with the account system you use to sign in. The lag and freezing/crashing problems seem universal.

Yes. Only solution seems to be rebooting the app? It appears to happen only when the catch is successful, and checking the "Journal" after rebooting shows that the Pokémon was successfully caught.

I didn't put it in my FAQ, either- mostly because I don't have any of the answers to the sure-to-be-frequently-asked-questions about how it actually works. But as soon as there are detailed impression from it out or I get my hands on one, I will.

10 straight times now it's frozen as I've tried to capture the Pokémon.

10 straight times I didn't actually capture the Pokémon.

Also, the Pokéstops around me won't load.

I wasted my break. Bleh

While I agree to a degree I'm thinking of Sawgrass for multiple reasons. I think for a first event would be easiest at a public place where lots of people already walk around so no need to get local law enforcement involved. If we start it early there are lots of different places to eat for lunch or dinner, and with the way the heat is there is plenty of ways to get out of the direct sun. This also doesn't have to be a one and done thing if people enjoy it.

Think I'll ask a mod if it would be alright to make a thread asking about interest.

i will wait for the loading thing to go away before restarting, and I only end up with the pokemon in my inventory about 1/2 the time...

They can. But they don't sell smartwatches, so...

And yeah, annoying bug with teh servers. :( They are spotty right now for everyone.

It's not just you and I use my google account. It seems to be worse if I'm in an area with lots of people but who knows. I was at the park earlier and it was literally freezing every 2-3 minutes and a few times during catches. Most of the time I still got the pokemon even if it froze so it was frustrating but wasn't really costing me much.

This may just be random chance but I tend to always get the "stuck" pokeball screen if the server icon is flashing so I time my throw to when it's not going. I'd say the majority of the time it worked and wouldn't hang.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this game but it is currently barebones

some ideas of how to add some depth

- allow to see nearby Pokemon Go users on the map
- be able to trade with someone in front of you
- be able to battle with someone in front of you
- interact with your Pokémon (take AR photos anytime)
- be able to leave clues/notes like Dark Souls (these last 2 days so its not overkill)
- be able to add friends and see how many Pokemon they have, gyms captured etc
- events, a rare Pokemon like Zapdos appears only in certain locations for specific date (make it atleast no more than 20 mins drive away for everyone)

Majority of the above will make the game even more social

I hope there is an app that can emulate the Bluetooth accessory on my pebble or thst the device itself is small enough to be clipped to my pebble because I don't want just another thing on my wrist lol

Would make this one optional for privacy reasons. I could get behind a "ghost mode". But pretty good overall.
