Is there any way I can get this game to stop demanding 2-step authentication every time I log in? I leave the "Remember this computer" box checked every time, but whenever I leave for a couple hours I have to wait for a text message from Google to authenticate.

Hey guys,

I saw a guy with a 1000cp Snorlax owning a gym, then 10 mins later gets replaced with a 200cp Pokemon.

How does that happen?
Dude might have one really strong Pokemon that he uses to beat the gym and then just dumps a shit cp Pokemon to defend. Or he is really good at dodging attacks and just chips away until he wins.

Higher trainer level = likelihood if eevee with high cp. My 300 eevee became 500 jolteon, etc.

Don't train low CP unless you want to work.

My starter Bulby gets ignored. =(

How do you decide how many and who to defend a gym. Also is there a prerequisite on who you use to attack?

There's no prereq, it defaults to your 6 highest cp pokemon and you can swap as you please.

You can leave any full health pokemon at a gym. You can only have one of your own pokemon per gym, though several pokemon from other members of your team can add their pokemons by training vs the gym and increasing the gym's level.

I f you beat every Pokemon at the gym it becomes neutral and you can place one of your fully healed Pokemon there to defend it. The number of Pokemon defending is determined by the rank of the gym. In order to raise the rank you find a gym that is the same team as yours and train your Pokemon. Basically you fight the Pokemon that are there and each win raises the prestige of the gym. The prestige causes the gym to rank up from 1-10. Each rank up allows you to add a Pokemon to defend the gym.

Update: got fucked by Hawkian. His guide is wrong. He claims that evolving a Pokemon will tie it's cp to your cp. that is wrong. I evolved my 102 eevee at about 3 trainer levels above when I got my Jolteon and it only went to 230 flareon. Effectively worthless to me
You must've read it wrong? Evolving a Pokémon will put it on the same point on the trainer's CP scale as the original Pokémon. Since an evolved Pokémon has much higher hidden base stat, its CP will be much higher at the same point on that scale.

If you evolve a Pokémon relatively low on your scale, the result will still be relatively low on your scale and you'll need to do a lot of upgrades to get it up to scratch.

Well the website reporting it is down, but I just saw this pop up on my newsfeed.
Legendary Pokémon: Player Discovers Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres in 'Pokémon Go' Code, Reports Say
YouTube user NesstendoYT discovered the Legendary monsters and Ditto listed in the augmented reality game's files, reports said. Players have not been able to locate them as of yet within the app.

Farther down, a member of a local Pokemon Go group posted:
It talks about the legendary pokemon and how they will be spawned manually at special events like tournaments or as a prize for winning one

Can anyone confirm?

Your 300 eevee became a 500 jolteon because that was the equivalent CP arc value on the jolteon. If you took a 250 eevee it would become a 450 jolteon. Its completely proportional, the only difference is if you want to wait to find a higher level pokemon to evolve instead of spending stardust.

My local police send out a warning to watch where you step because some pokemon players were crossing the road while playing nearl6 causing an accident. Its not even out here this is insane. Everywhere i go i see people playing it. And im just really happy for Nintendo.

I have 11$ in google play rewards; should I blow it all on just eggs?

No. Don't buy anything at the start. Just play the game and catch some pokemons.

The fastest way to level is to farm a ton of pidgeys so you have a ton of pidgey candy saved up. Then activate the lucky egg which doubles XP gain and evolve all your pidgeys to pidgeotto's. It'll give you 1000xp per evolution and it'll level you up quick.

And you'll be getting some lucky eggs when you reach certain levels anyway so I personally haven't felt the need to buy any.

People need to be careful power leveling if you're not swimming in PokeStops.

Once you get high levels even garbage Pokemon will take multiple Pokeballs to catch because their CP is so high.

It's nice to get strong quick but don't cripple yourself and burn out.

This is true lol but I live right on a Pokestop so no problem for me.

Sounds like you gave up after a few step in each direction. That's not enough to affect the display. Read the FAQ in the OP, it gives some good tips on how to locate Pokémon with it.
No, the problem was with the servers not properly eliminating nearby Pokemon from my nearby list when they're no longer nearby.

This. Your mons CP is tied to your trainer level. Evolving early just means you will need to spend more stardust to get it in line with your current trainer level. Catching a higher CP eevee just means that you will need to spend less stardust to reach your current levels max CP. As you level up, that max CP increases so you will still need to powerup your mon to keep it at max.

Well, that was stressful. Found a Pidgeot in a parking lot. For some reason, 95% of all my Pokeball throws were curve balls. It was maddening. So few actually landed. I tried sliding my finger as straight as I could but I still kept throwing curveballs, I dont know what was happening. The game froze after a catch attempt and I restarted it. Thankfully the Pidgeot was still there. After some missed throws the game froze again, this time with black creeping up from the bottom. I close the app and start it again, thinking that I fucked up for real and I didnt catch it, check my Pokemon and boom there it is, a 477 CP Pidgeot with Steel Wing and Hurricane.

Had a good time chatting with people on uni campus at 11 o'clock at night today. Seriously, someone drops a lure and people just appear out of thin air.

No kidding. When walking around my downtown area today I noticed a lure at a gazebo Pokestop, I walked over and saw about 5 other people all under the gazebo too.

The sparkly curved throw seems to be a random element tied to the color of the throwing ring. Orange and Red rings will have a higher chance of a curved shot as a way of suggesting that the Pokemon is tough to catch. If you usr a higher level PokeBall (like a great ball) the ring will change from red or orange to yellow or green and you will have less curve shots. Heres a tip, if the Pokemon is green or yellow you can choose to throw a curve shot yourself buy swiping your finger in an arc. The ball will be sparkly but if you catch it you will get a "Curve Shot" 10xp bonus.

well... yeah. I meant to say higher levels increases likelihood of catching higher CP pokemon other wise you're right.

I caught a 300+ Bellsprout earlier lol
