Konami Rep Says 'I Hope We Earn You Back'

As I have said before, I will laugh so hard at the mess that will happen here if Konami remaster the old games (and do it impecably) and people get conflicted over them, and better still if they continue their old franchises and they are better than with their previous creators. There wouldn't be enough popcorn and it would be endlessly entertaining

I don't imagine they can put out anything that would win people back for several years, so this is all fluff. Pitiful fluff, though--it's hard not to feel bad for "Ben."

Bring Team Silent back together to make a new SH game but not before having a proper HD collection that wasnt directed by a complete moron.

Second, bring all the Hudson IPs to Virtual Console and revive the Bonk game that got canned.

And finally apologize to Kojima. If any of those 3 things were to happen i may throw you a dollar Konami.

Put ROTA to 3, Construct to 1, and make some not shit Destiny Heroes and we may be in business ag-

I need to go back to the Yu-Gi-Oh thread.

This and all is forgiven. I have a real feeling that they're doing this. Those cinematics looked way too good for pachinko shit. There's no way they could fuck it up. The story and game path is already complete. Can you guys imagine The End fight with a full area and no loading? Would be like the sniper battle in V but not as bullshit lol. Just one on one fight to the death. I need to play this.

A remake of an old game makes up for they did to Kojima, MGSV and Silent Hills? You are too easy to please.

How about a full translation of the Far East of Eden series and releasing it on Stream? Though I don't hate Konami that much to begin with so they don't need to win me back. They just need to make games I'm interested in.

Honestly, the whole internet drama doesn't matter and it's silly people care so much. What matters if Konami even still makes videogames or not.

If Konami wants to go back to their roots, I wholeheartedly welcome them. Even though they lost a lot their credibility as a serious game maker, I really miss Konami franchises. Bemani games, Castlevania, MGS, countless shooters... I miss them.

For example, we know that Konami has plans for future Metal Gear Solid games on console, and Ben has teased that an announcement will come next to year, in celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. If Konami is able to produce something impressive that Metal Gear Solid fans will want to play, even without the involvement of franchise creator Hideo Kojima, then some may be willing to forgive its past transgressions.

I think the most logical thing to do for the 30th anniversary would be to remake MG1&2 as a single game on the fox engine. I think most modern MGS fans have not even played them, and they're the only games I think that have trouble holding their own among their peers. They stand apart.

It could have a Ground Zeroes-like prologue that basically serves as a brief Chapter 3 bandaid for Phantom Pain, leading into a main plot based loosely on MG1&2.

I'd definitely buy that
used.

Then again, that pachinko machine already has awfully nice remade cutscenes for MGS3. I wonder if they will end up serving a dual purpose down the road.

If things that leaked about how they treat their workers are true (and the evidence points that way), it matters a lot. I'm not about to give my hard earned money to a company that treats their workers and fans like shit.

They own some of my favorite franchises, but unless something really big happens, they can go fuck themselves.

Put out a great new game, or do an amazing remake of one of your classics. Thats how youll earn my trust back, and tone down the gross microtransactions.

All I want is a big budget Suikoden that is true to the series and I will take back any and all ill will I have for the company....

So in other words yeah it aint gonna happen.

Damn I miss Suikoden -_-

Ben didn’t outright state that Konami is working on a new Silent Hill game, he did say that when one of the company’s franchises isn’t seen for awhile, it doesn’t mean that the series is dead; rather, it means that Konami is “reviewing the IP” and trying to “find a good fit.”

So basically the reason why there hasn't been a mainline Suikoden game in over 10 years is because Konami couldn't "find a good fit" for it.

Uh huh, yeah, okay. Sure, whatever you say.

I love MGS3, but I don't want a remake of it. Would rather see what they can accomplish by rebooting the series and using FOX Engine again.

I also don't think the higher-ups at Konami even care at this point. Castlevania, Silent Hill and many other IPs are MIA. Konami seems just putting out PES games and MGS, which we haven't seen or heard since MGS V launch.

I doubt they are willing to go back to big production with big risks and maybe low ROI.

First of all, too freaking late to redeem themselves now. I'm all in on "Fuck Konami". And second, I don't know why they're going back to the well with MGS because I have no interest without Kojima at the helm. For all intents and purposes that franchise is done.

Impeccably? Does that include MGS3 littered with F2P mechanics on top of the classic game?

Make a Halo MCC style game of the Metal Gear series going all the way back to the originals and you got me. If they remake MGS3 it will take a lot to convince me to buy it new. I will only support their games through the 2nd hand market for what they have done.

Not sure about redeeming themselves before their former loyal fans, but I'd sure be excited about a new MGS game, whether it's from Kojima or not.

Just sell the Silent Hill IP to another company already.

PLEASE KONAMI! Let that poor IP go to a better home and not continue to suffer its pachinko fate.

Funny were people saying "ill forgive" like if that really mattered for a gamer, its very simple, if konami puts some good quality games out there, people will buy it, or people are gonna think: " great game, but its konami, i wont play it" dont see this happening.

Im a pes player, i dont respect konami for what they ve done, but in no way im gonna prive myself of enjoyment or move to fifa just because konami putted up some shit , in my country theres a saying : Amigos amigos negocios á parte "friends are friends but business its another story" and for me applys perfect here.

Put some quality games Konami, it would be funny if this happened in all business, like people dont buying apple because they use child labor.

I can't even express how glad I am that I don't work for Konami anymore. Some great people worked there, and still work there, but there are also some boneheads at Konami corporate that couldn't be more out of touch and disinterested in what the fans want. It's frustrating and sad, because some of my favorite IPs are from Konami.

The release date was accurate. The change was one of the reasons for the fallout. I am not going to argue with you. All I am saying is wait for Gamescom then tell me to shut up.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I'll just say it (again?):

Konami will announce something new at gamescom 2016. What I don't know but I do have an appointment for said game.

Here we go again let's see

Snake Eater in Fox Engine would tempt me, but I'm sure Konami will find a way to tack it with microtransactions and needless online elements
