There is a dock... why are all of you forgetting?
Imagine them releasing Pokemon Go 2 as an NX exclusive.
Hmm, what do you mean by that?
The design constraints of a handheld are clearly more acute than those of a console, so they will always take precedence when creating a hybrid system.
Did you even read the chip article? How about OsirisBlack's comment about it being able to handle Ps4/XB1 ports with. "Little to no problem?"
If the chip is the X2--and I'm willing to bet it is, based on active cooling and fan in devkits and the delay--this could easily handle ports.
What makes you think that? Tegra X1 is a lot more powerful than Wii U.So NX Zelda is going to run worse than Wii U?
It's true but it's going to be left behind in 2 years time after release with PS5 and maybe even Scorpio.
How little they know? I didn't say one way or the other, but Nintendo straight up said (hell I think it was Iwata who said this) that NX wasn't a hybrid. If it is in fact a hybrid you cannot blame the people who simply took Nintendo at their word.

What are the arguments FOR moving your business pretty much 100% into a market that has nearly evaporated by mobile (handheld gaming)? If this information is correct, this is a handheld first, and console second. Why move into that market now?
Ao I guess another underpowered nintendo console :/
So i was thinking about something and i wonder if this is possible or not. We know you can change the clock speed of a proc via software right. What if the NX has to different modes and can run faster when plugged on an power cord.
We know this is not so much a price, nor even size problem, as a battery problem that makes handled gaming limited. So what if they have like, a version of a strong gpu tha can runs at 500mhz when unplugged and 800mhz when plugged. I'm using random numbers but i wonder if this is a possibility.
It will fly off shelves in Japan. Very curious to know how it will fare in the West.
I'm definitely more interested now.
How does Tegra compares do WiiU, though?

Wonder if Nintendo would make a cheaper home-only variant of that thing that features the same hardware but ditches the screen, the battery, and the docking mechanisms.
Seconded, sounds vaguely familiar but from a long time ago?Can I request a link to these, please?
It will be Nintendo TDS (table docking station) so there is no confusion with the DS,3DS,NDS.
I'm not a tech guy but wouldn't it be pretty easy for this thing to be at least as powerful as Wii U with updates in hardware? So Wii U to get definitive version of Zelda?
All Nintendo teams working on 1 SKU. That's dozens of games per year. I'm fucking in.
Is there a genuine good reason for going back to cartridges besides faster/no loading? Aren't they more expensive to produce and less reliable than discs?!
Didn't Nintendo repeatedly said it wasn't going to be a hybrid?
Is Zelda BotW designed with handheld sensibilities in mind?
What we will see is a unified library of all Nintendo's software. You will get console-like experiences and handheld-like experiences on one platform. Some franchise like Pokemon lean one way, others like Pikmin lean another.
if its using an X1, then it will be considerable weaker than a Wii U.
This is almost exactly what I imagined it to be. I do wonder what "sacrificing power" will mean this time. Maybe it will be more comparable to a 360/Wii U than a XB1/PS4?
My bet is that the base unit will basically function like a tablet when you detach the side controllers, with its own app ecosystem (or access to the Android store).
