Yea, a handful of the same posters would post that as a way to day that #teamhybrid were being stupid. Shockingly I don't see them posting in here today.
Say goodbye to competent ports of big games like COD:AW (48GB), with cartridges that only have 32GB capacity, not to mention the hit in visuals.
...I got you brah.

Yup, every single timeEveryone? No.
There was only a small handful of us in #teamhybrid and we were pretty consistently shot down by the majority of posters who defied logic to believe this wouldn't be the case.
Main reason "But Iwata said no hybrid!"
Despite #teamhybrid posting proof of the fact that Nintendo has said one thing and done another FOR EVER.
Slick, but a complete waste of money for people who like home console gaming and couldn't give two shits about handheld gaming.
I got you brah.

Can't say I'm shocked. September release is odd after them saying march.
yeah battle dojo is not indicative of the main game. they gimped it specifically with that in mind. never mind that the pro controller doesn't have a gyro which is a crucial aspect of splatoon.

Pro controller works well and a lot of people disable gyro anyway. I can't stand playing the game with the awful gyro controls.
Ain't like the NX can't get a stand alone controller with gyros in. PS4 pad has it. Steam controller has it. It's an inexpensive addition compared with doing the two screen thing again.
IMHO this is dumb, I usually get both the handheld and home Nintendo systems this has thoroughly disappointed me....

So your disappointed you can't spend more money on two systems and now have to spend less on a 2in1?

it's almost a 100% guarantee there will be card sizes greater than 32 gigabytes. cart sizes expanded from where they were on launch on the n64, ds, and 3ds.The Good: Unified console and handheld library which means games, games, and more games with more frequent releases.
The Bad: Not the graphic leap many hoped and dreamed for. Brilliant move for portable loving Japan, but not so much for mobile gaming North America.
The Ugly: Say goodbye to competent ports of big games like COD:AW (48GB), with cartridges that only have 32GB capacity, not to mention the hit in visuals.
Figured it would be a hybrid, and the library potential makes me excited. Just not crazy about the possibility of dealing with a lack of 3rd party support again. However, 3DS still has 3rd party support and this is technically still a portable. Ugh... My poor brain.
There's no such thing as "PC hardware design" as in one monolithic entity or style. This is what my PC looks like. Maybe I'm biased, but I don't see pigs or lipstick there, just something which has high build quality, great materials, and solid design. It's a different kind of fugly. Mildly more tolorable. Better than the "putting lipstick on a pig" philosophy that permeates PC hardware design.
I got you brah.

U mad? 3DS, which arguably was "low tech" for its launch era was 250$.
Quite the contrary, the majority of Splatoon players use gyro controls.Pro controller works well and a lot of people disable gyro anyway. I can't stand playing the game with the awful gyro controls.
Is my phone also a hybrid system?
This is what I'm worried about. That and the fact that Nintendo will no longer be developing specifically for a "home console", unless they have another trick up their sleeve like the dock being an SCD.so if this sells for full "console" price ($299ish) what will happen in multi-gamer households? You have to come up with a "share the portable game time" schedule? "i'm home sick i'll play Zel...oh shit! my brother took it with him"
just seems strange...
i like the idea...but this is where i get stuck thinking it's also a bad idea...
Isn't 32 GB cartridges a bit small considering that so many games are having a hard time with 50 GB discs?
I think it wll be $199 or $250.
with all games costing $59.99

Are Nintendo's games having trouble with it? I don't really think they give a fuck about anyone else's games.
It works well enough. When you get into higher levels of play it becomes akin to using a joystick vs kb/m in PC shooters. While gyro it is not quite as big a gap as a kb/m, it is still a gap. That said, a regular controller can still do gyro and the touch screen features of Splatoon people are mentioning that need the gamepad don't really need the gamepad screen at all. If there was really a hardcore competitive scene for Splatoon it would be very unlikely people would be using twin sticks.Pro controller works well and a lot of people disable gyro anyway. I can't stand playing the game with the awful gyro controls.
eh, not really
Not necessarily, especially for stuff like Quick Spawning & Inkstrikes. There's also gyro controls to consider, but that can easily be incorporated to a regular controller.
They should still be worried about Sony.
Sony understands what's happening in Japan, and while the PS4 is selling well now, they'll eventually have to come up with an answer to the changing climate there. If NX is a hit, Sony will pull a full rip & run there at the end of the PS4/Neo cycle.
