Terrible news to wake up to.

Drizzay, you will be missed, thank you for carrying me and countless noob guardians and helping us conquer The Vault of Glass and many other raids.

RIP, Friend and Guardian

Damn. I'm pretty sure Drizz was the first member of DGAF to add me to their friend list and help me out. A junior without an avatar and a short post history and he pulled me through raids and whatever else I needed help with.
I felt ashamed of taking so much of his time, but he just kept at it...

Rest in peace Drizz.

I have an Oryx hardmode checkpoint and that challenge is the last calcified fragment I need to complete my year two triumphs. I am at 325 light and would really like to complete this as this may be my last opportunity to get the emblem. Would anyone be willing to help on PS4?

On a keyboard now:

I remember last year, after getting back into Destiny, posting and asking Drizzay to help me defeat Skolas since that was one of my last triumphs I had to complete. I had never really posted in DGaf before. Honestly I still don't, but I was a nobody. I still am a nobody. Anyway, he was Drizzay. And I thought I had nothing to lose by asking.

I was so surprised by his response. Of course he would! Someone had even given their spot so I can join him on a run to help another, someone who wasn't even on Gaf. This person had messaged him on PSN. But Drizzay doesn't care! He'll help anyone and everyone. We had microphone issues, but Drizzay was a force of nature. Did it on our first try. No wipes. No problems. And, again, I was blown away by how nice he was. He even took time to answer all my questions about the game.

Fast forward to earlier this year when he, and others, spent days running people through Trials before the April Update. We failed, but whatever... it's just a game. Again, I was just so appreciative of his contributions.

His kindness knew no bounds. So when I found out earlier today, I was actually pretty devastated. He was a special guy who meant a lot to this community, a great community, who... did so much. I was so touched and motivated by his willingness to help others; I want to do the same. I really wished I saved footage of that Skolas Run, or at least a screenshot, because that was epic and the highlight of my Destiny career.

RIP, dude.

#LowEffortPosts, indeed.

Edit: Typos.

OK Destiny-GAF, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but one of our own has passed away

Drizzay (Boguester) aka "Mr. Destiny" died Thursday/Friday due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning (Construction Accident)

He was 33 years old and leaves behind a beautiful wife (only married 3 months), a loving family that he moved back closer to be with

Drizzay, was a great community member of DGAF. He always was a helpful person to anyone that needed it. Always doing his best to push the community here forward with detail information on being a better player himself but for others to use it and become Legends themselves
He never was selfish, always the helpful, caring player who wanted the community to prosper

If you want to leave kind words to the family about Drizzay, you can post on the guestbook:

RIP, my friend. Thank you for the short time I had with you. You went out of your way to help me and use your time so I could play with you. Those gaming nights and mornings! we talked about life and laughing along the way, those memories will stay with me till the end.

May you rest in peace my friend.

Dunno if you got this done already or not, but I need it as well. Never done Oryx on Hard, but have cleared normal like 50+ times. I'd be down. I'm on right now and am available tomorrow as well.

Even for the relative short time I was with DGAF he always seemed like a person who were always ready to help, even during the most frustrating parts. He always took time to help you, explain and try to make you and your experience better.

I'm at work tearing up reading these last few pages and even if I only was here for a little while and a few OTs, he is always remembered as a very positive experience to my time with this game and community.

My heart goes out to his family, friends and the community.

Guardian Down.

I only played with Drizzay once as helped me beat Skolas, but he was super nice when we wiped during the final round as Skolas was slivered. Helped calmly explain what to do different next time, etc.

RIP.

Holy shit what!? I just saw this... He helped me on my first flawless, teaching me how to do the spiral platforms. helping me be one of the first few into the hall of fame. Many iron banner nights with him. One of the best out there. I haven't been active in this community in awhile but he was always there. You'll be missed guy.

Fuck...

Holy shit! I never had the pleasure of playing with Drizz but had much respect for his selflessness and willingness to help his fellow community members with anything they needed, no matter how trivial.

Truly a sad day, rest in peace Guardian.

Drizz helped me beat Skolas last year just so I could earn my Triumphs. He was a true Guardian.

There was nothing in it for him-he didn't need to do that to unlock anything, he just wanted to help a fellow destiny player.

Me too. The only reason I got that emblem in the first place.

Does anyone know if there's a way to donate to his family?

I feel so sad right right now I'm about to cry. He helped me through so much stuff on Destiny and never ever badmouthed anyone after screwing up.

Right now I don't feel like playing Destiny anymore. Fuck Year 2 Triumph, fuck Oryx HM kill, fuck the game.

I feel honoured to have played with Drizzay.
The week after KF had dropped a rag tag bunch of players joined up to tackle a Oryx checkpoint.
Fortunately a sixth never showed, a call out was made.
Dr Drizzay entered and guided us all the way to the reward chest after Oryx drifted away.

Everyone bailed and he invited me to join in some pvp, a control match, one match.
We chatted and I got schooled. I learnt a lot in that single crucible match than I have in the whole 2 years of Destiny.

Thank you Dr Drizzay!

I feel like picking up Destiny as soon as I can, if nothing else but to honor Drizz. This community seems like nice people.

man trials is absolute shit this week

also rip drizz even tho I never got to know him

The map is terrible for trials:

- Long sightlines out of radar range
- wide open
- Bridge is meant to be out of bounds but is too low so exploited
- So many head glitches

I wish Trials would just rotate the best 3v3 maps. Bring back Anomaly.

Hey guys. Used to post here a bunch a while ago until I lost my account info and had to set up a new account. I have a few of you on my PSN friends list.

This news has really shook me. I never actually played anything with Drizzay, never even heard his voice. But he was on my friends list and would regularly allow me to jump in to his Gorgon checkpoint so I could go get the chest. Like I said, we never spoke. I would just jump in, go get my loot, and then we'd wave to each other and that would be that. He would happily wait while I spent time trying to make the jumps up the rocks too :).
Despite my personal lack of interaction with him, in my early days (and even to this day) I would see him on my roster and eagerly check out his character build. Knowing what a pillar of the community he was, the Father of DGAF, it was encouraging to me to see what sort of gear I'd need to get to match up with him. So even though I never got the chance to play/speak with him, he actually moulded my Destiny development. Funny thing is, he never even knew how much I admired him from afar. And now I'll never get the chance to thank him. But I'm sure wherever he is now he will be able to feel the love from this community.
I am incredibly sad, and I cannot bear to think how the rest of you who knew him personally are dealing with this. Be strong guys, I'm sure Drizzay would want that.

RIP

Thing is a bunch of the guys are just talking and reliving their memories of Driz. And watching Dan die 99999999999999 times.

Driz is the greatest. There won't ever be another Driz. He told me I would be a top tier sniper long ago and I've been working on it since. Every single snipe from now on is for him.

Looking for 4 for Oryx HM Challenge. We're at Oryx now. We had a full group but somehow couldn't pull it off and I'm really hoping to complete this tonight.

Just back from holiday and saw the news.

Thoughts and prayers with family, friends, and those in this community who have enjoyed time with Drizzay.

RIP.

I can handle the next one, if it can be a tribute to him. I'd like to collect stories and screenshots everyone has. I feel like we're overflowing with memories of him and sharing them would both serve to honor him and ensure as many of his lessons as possible will live on in the community.

If you need a hand with graphics, banners, etc. please don't hesitate to ask. More than willing to give it all my free time.

I never had a chance to get to know Drizzay, but based on the outpouring here I wish I had.

Somewhere, in the far flung future, may his ghost finally find him at the cosmodrome.

RIP Drizz was the reason I was able to get back into Destiny having left shortly after Dark Below launched and returning after HoW. I hope I ended up returning that kindness (and a bunch of other people's kindness) by subsequently helping DGAF'rs when the Black Spindle first came out and people were having trouble getting it.
