i thought its just perma death and you can go back to the save file you last saved at ?

but that would not be permadeath would it? what's the difference to a normal playthrough?

anyway, the permadeth difficulty (I didnt ask for this) is locked at start, it becomes only available after you finished it once.

I will play it on the hardest available difficulty as well

But that's what perma death is.....? You die once and that's it.

It does keep a save file so you don't have to do it all in one sitting, but if you die the save is gone.

That permadeath is gonna be easy. Especially on pacifist/ghosting/no alarm runs. I've played DXHR like this numerous times on the highest difficulty, and the only time I reloaded my save is whenever I was spotted. Never died.

Permadeath on a more lethal and combat oriented run could be difficult.

Lirik will be going through the game today on his stream on twitch from noon onwards so if you want to see live how the game handles on PC before you buy it then you can give him some views. Of course you'll be spoiled but thats the price you pay

Also keep in mind that Lirik's PC is far, far from your average toaster. He can bruteforce even shitty ports to run well.

FOV option again is good news.

Customizable UI is good news. That wasn't much of a thing in HR.

Almost identical visuals from High to Uktra is good news.

I'm on a GTX 1070. I'll probably try 1440p on High with temporal AA.

I hope the temporal AA is a good one. The Division and Uncharted 4 are some of the best I've seen in that regard - hard to find any aliasing even at 1080p.

Wonder if it'll be Lirik's kind of game, I hope Cohh Carnage gets early access too, he's a huge fan of the series.

Not 100% Lirik's kinda of game, but he will git mileage from it if first few hours hook him in. He put quite a bit time into Witcher 3 too. He just has very short attention span for games and for that reason usually plays at least 2-3 different games / stream. Said so himself.

Cohh most likely has preview build access like Lirik and Dan, but already said he won't do early release stream. Dan is going to start moment embargo is lifted and DX is game series he loves.

V high? The comparison you are talking about is between medium and low.

The lights from the police lights in medium provide a bloom effect that the low lacks. That's why the red hue when the red light is on and blue when the blue light is on.

For those who played the game, is there no ability to holster a weapon the default control scheme? The Human Revolution one allows you to.

You tap square first then press L2 to holster.
This game has a complicated control scheme and eventhough you can select it to control like Human revolution or your standard shooter, the best way is to use the special scheme for Mankind Divided due to the way new augs work.

Almost all new augs work better if you can aim and move at the same time so in addition to the D pad for augs you also get L1 under the new control scheme (you dont get this in any other scheme and are limited to 4 augs at a time until you switch them out from the aug wheel.) Even then it is quite limited with the controller since you can only assign one aug to L1 at a time while on PC you can have quick shortcuts.

If you've played Xcom, think of the Ironman mode, you can save so it doesn't have to be done in one sitting, but you can't reload that save if something goes wrong... interesting...

So if say I took a route but then decided that I didn't like that route, and wanted to reload.. as long as I didn't die, could I?

pcgamesn.com seem a bit confused.

It's funny how people don't understand resolutions/aspect ratios. 3440x1440 is not 3.5K or w/e they call it, it's a 1440p monitor.Period. extra 880(440 on each side) pixels(campared to 2560x1440) are needed to cover that extra virtual estate. Otherwise we'd have gotten stretched image. As far as I know we don't have true 4K ultrawide monitors yet.

The light on top of the car shouldn't have that intensity to change the whole scene lighting. Especially when it's daylight.
It can affect the camera/eye that way it's not lighting the scene, police lights are extremely bright, if your eye could take screenshots you'd see something similar.

It's not lighting the whole scene, it just has that effect on the camera.

When does this release on PC?

Have any reviewers gotten a chance to play the Season Pass DLC missions? When can we expect to hear more details on it (length, where it fits into the story etc.)?

The season pass story missions won't be out until this fall and winter, which hopefully means they'll be pretty hefty pieces of content like the Missing Link.

BTW, have you posted your impressions on the endgame yet ? did I miss it ?

Like 9 hours from now at the earliest. Whatever Steam says at the latest. All we know is that the video embargo is up in 9 hours, unclear if that is when the game will also unlock or not.

So ya, maybe Midnight CEST but we don't know.

That's good news --- I'll be satisfied if they end up being two Missing Link sized missions. Also means that they (hopefully) weren't just carved out of the base game for extra profit and that they can get some extra polish over the next few months.

That release schedule makes zero fucking sense. Consoles get release that is logical and makes sense, but then fucking PC users over because reasons? What the...

Fuck you Square! Like, I don't even mind it that much, I've already waited half a year after the first delay, but it's so unnecessary.

Also, could it be Valve's decision? It feels weird for Square to use a local midnight release for consoles, but EST for PC.

This let's say the release is on day X and than release it 6 hours before that day ends is bs. But that's how it is... in the end it doesn't matter.
