always chasing the next thrill
maybe a silly question .. but specs?
and does is play NATIVE 4k or UPSCALED??
Does it play 4k/UHD blurays ?

srsly.. what kind of conference is this ?

Hope they release a spec sheet/tech details on the Pro. That's what I'm more interested in and they didn't really answer a lot of my questions.

This presentation sucked. It felt that Sony was only talking to the people who love to blow a ton of money because that's what this is about (4KTV + Pro = $$$).

My regular PS4 does the job. I'll wait for a Final Fantasy VII Remake bundle.

Not exactly sure why they're making such a big deal out of HDR like it's a new thing when Half Life 2: Lost Coast had it in 2005 and source engine has had it since then.

Unless this is something more advanced than that?
It's a lot more advanced than that.

Literally like the first thing they said when the conference started was that this stuff was geared and targeted at NON-current Playstation owners. It wasn't meant to give you guys reason to "upgrade". This is simply the new default PS4 model going forward, and the PS4 Slim is the budget model. Reactions to these conferences are always laughable.

People hype themselves up, then come in to conference threads and blame the conference.

Getting a Pro as soon as I get a 4K HDR set lol...sticking to my plan to upgrade to 4K fall 2017,in time for Scorpio as well.

While the price point is very good for the Slim and the Pro, I see no reason to dish out more money or trade in towards either while still owning a 1080P TV. Not enough upgrades without shelling out far more for an upgraded Television.

Plus, I don't want to lose my P.T. that's on my OG PS4. :p

This was the No Man's Sky of press conferences. Everyone built up in their own minds something amazing with megatons for days, when all it ever was going to be was a reveal of the Slim and Pro.

My take is this: The Pro will get its first price drop the same time the Scorpio is set to drop.

They talked about higher resolution when showing Uncharted 4 (wasn't it already in 1080p?), but no mention about 60 fps on the Pro. Disappointed.
No UHD drive? WHAT?! Even more disappointing.

I think I saw some Mordor gameplay there.

Anyone know what was it?

Just the regular game? kinda weird to showcase that one no?

The design is just...

It's as uninspired as the name, let me put it that way.

Sticking with my OG ps4 until I see what the pro model can potentially do for me on a 1080p display.

Sony better hope the price and the 1 year lead saves their ass. MS now has the chance to murder Sony when it comes to Scorpio vs neo.

PS4 Pro has a good chance to be 349$ next year. good luck for MS next year, they'll need it to survive

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
I will wait until next year to grab the PS4P but I have to ask are HDR 1080p TV that are not over 32 inches a real thing? For a Living Room experience 40-60 Inches is fine but I never liked huge TVs for my room.

Price is very very good, only £50 more than the 1tb Xbox s is crazy. Want to hear more on the mode that kicks in when it detects a 1080p screen.

Two more consoles left to go I expect massive backpedaling there as well. Scorpio it'll be price or some other fuck up. Nx it'll be something that'll tick gaf off lol. All that hype for these upgraded consoles.

The only logical conclusion is that it plays 4k blu-ray movies but why didn't they mention it? Nothing beats physical media for image quality and I wanted this to be my UHD media centre.

sony needs to pick their battles. this was not worth a press conference. a press blast and an announcement video would have sufficed.

ps4 pro seems harmless though. i'm sure it will do well on the marketplace.

It announced the release date, those always get a conference. Also, I'm sure they want to get the press into a location with a large amount of 4K HDR TVs to see the games on them rather than judging them on their cheap 1080p tvs that will blow out HDR (like non-HDR 4K tvs) rather than look right.

They should have spiced up at least the release date part of the meeting though...

So everyone saw that Elder Scrolls looking snippet during the montage right?
Didn't look like Skyrim and I only played around 5 hours of it but I do not remember a jump into an action roll animation in TESO.

Let's see. The Slim is overpriced and the Pro doesn't look like enough of an upgrade and is among the ugliest consoles I've ever seen.

A pretty disastrous conference in my eyes.

I swear something about the Horizon demo felt off this time. Looked like crushed blacks or something.

Everything else, especially with HDR looked absolutely stunning. I love tech moving forward like this. Abslutely incredible.

I'm hardly seeing the support that makes me want to consider this, for games. I understand thats a work in progress.

But yeah, without a 4K player, there is just no point for me to get it. I needed a 4K Blu-ray player and was hoping this would turn out to be it.

Guys, that was a really lame event. I actually had pretty realistic expectations and it was still disappointing. If I wasn't already sold on PS4 Pro, that would have done nothing to convince me.

Fortunately, I was on board months ago soooooo...no big deal.

But still, that was lame.
